SoulSpace Farm Sanctuary's mission is to rescue, protect, and provide a forever home to farmed animals coming from cruelty, neglect, and abandonment situations. We promote and advocate for ethical, compassionate, vegan living. At SoulSpace, people of all ages have the opportunity to volunteer at the farm and experience the animals firsthand. We will offer educational tours with the hopes of openin

g people’s hearts and minds to the animals and their stories. We invite groups from schools and underserved youth to visit the farm for fresh air, exercise and hands-on service-learning. Our Vision for SoulSpace is to become a fixture within the St. Croix County community, where people in and outside the area use the sanctuary to connect with the animals and renew themselves.

July 2023 we rescued Spice Girl from a situation where her partner had a debilitating spinal injury. We had signed up for the Rescue , thinking that we would be able to save both of them. Ultimately, after every test possible at the U Of M, Her partner was not able to be saved. Spice was able to spend the night with her friend after we made the heartbreaking decision to let her go. Spice has been making friends and wrapping us around her little hooves ever since. We love you, Spice. Thank you, thank you, thank you for just being so you. 🩷💋

Tinsel. Last Christmas Tinsel was found in a bucket left behind an emergency vet clinic in Oakdale. Luckily a tech leaving her shift found her that morning, she had almost froze to death. She spent three months in the house with kara, before settling in with the big kids outside. She’s been running this place ever since. Oh sassy pants. How we love you so. 🩷

Here are some fun facts about peafowl:
🦚Peacocks spread their feathers to attract mates, communicate with other peacocks, and intimidate predators.
🦚Peacocks spread their feathers in a fan shape to attract mates.
The female peahen chooses her mate based on the peacock's display.
🦚The peahen considers the size, color, and quality of the peacock's tail feathers.
🦚The iridescence of the feathers is also important, as the more the colors change under light, the more successful the peacock is at attracting a mate.
🦚The fanned feathers make the peacock look larger and more formidable, which can scare off predators.
🦚The eyespots on the feathers draw attention away from the peacock's vulnerable parts.
🦚Peacocks vibrate their feathers, a process called "train rattling", to communicate with other peacocks.
🦚After mating season, male peacocks shed their tail feathers.
