Kinky Boots is about 7 years old and still very active and very talkative (and a great conversationalist!) She has some over-grooming likely due to stress from her previous home.

"Hello and Happy New Year!

"Back in May of 2024, my husband and I adopted two young adult tabbies from the shelter and we thought you might want to know they are doing very well.

"Nolan has blossomed into a very active and bold cat, while still retaining his gentle nature. He's truly one of the smartest cats we've encountered and his favorite toy is a ball of tin foil, which he loves positioning into small crevices and then pouncing on it. He is also taking a gradual liking to laps.

"Sebastian is so affectionate and playful, but always very good about claws and handling by his humans. He's quite chatty and loves to request scritches or another round of chase with his favorite wand toy.

"Despite being strangers, they have gotten on well from the first week we introduced them and they engage in frequent wrestling and grooming sessions, clearly enjoying each other's companionship.

"Thanks ever so much to your volunteers for helping us find two cats who would be an excellent fit for each other and us. We adore them and they add so much extra love to our daily lives."

HAPPY UPDATE: ADOPTED!

Dashing and debonair TESLA was unceremoniously dumped at the shelter by his owner, who pulled up in a Tesla, left him in his carrier, and sped away.

While this unfortunate turn of events would have devastated a lesser cat, Tesla has been a total love from the minute he crossed our threshold and has clearly put his past behind him! This 2-year-old lover boy is social, loving, gentle and charismatic. He is a lover of caresses, ear scritches and all sorts of fun and games, and is looking forward to becoming the center of his new, committed family as soon as possible!

Kayak was adopted from us 3 years ago as a tiny kitten, but his owner’s recent move didn’t include him. Of course, Kayak was shocked by this sad turn of events, but we have told him that we will find him a new, committed family that will take him with them wherever they may go. He is a sweet, gentle boy-- kind, curious and absolutely adorable! He is sure to make some lucky family very happy indeed!

Mandy was found in Ardsley, barely alive and was nursed diligently back to health by our amazing veterinary team. Now this 5 month old little lady is ready for a home! Mandy is absolutely perfect! Happy Friday — It’s been a week since Link found his forever family, who sent this Happy Tail: “Hi All at New Rochelle Humane Society, Thank you so much for letting us adopt Link! We’ve spent this week getting to know each other, and he is truly an amazing and wonderful dog! He loves playing ball and enjoys long walks. Such a sweet boy! Link is so special. Thank you again!” Sometimes it may take a little longer to find love, but for Link & his family, this adoption was perfection! Link had a wonderful support system during his time with us, with staff & volunteers taking great care of him! A great big thank you to the private donor who sponsored Link’s adoption! Today’s rescue! This poor cat was abandoned outside of an apartment in New Rochelle. As you can see, she has been severely neglected, nearly starved, singed whiskers and over grooming (barbering) probably due to significant stress. Thank goodness she hasn’t lost her love and trust for humans, which is a true testament to her personality and resilience. Don’t worry, we will nurse this girl back to her original glory! We’ve named this survivor, Kinky Boots.

Remember Mandy, the little kitten saved from near death? We’ll just look at her now! She is a miracle! 🩶🤍🩶

Today’s rescue! This sweetest little sick girl was brought to us from Mount Vernon. She’s super sick right now, but on her way back to health! We have named her Clara, in honor of the angel who brought her in 🤎
