Dr Chad is no nail tech 💅 but sure knows how to give a spa day to our bovine patients! We do hoof work for our bovine species for a few different reasons, most of our cases are animals showing signs of being painful in one of their hooves, others just need a pedicure before going out to their summer pastures. We have a tipping chute so hoof trims go pretty smooth, the animal goes into our chute where they are secure and then gets tipped onto its side where the animals legs get put into straps for both our safety and the safety of the animals so they can’t kick around during their exams/trims. The last few weeks we have been seeing a few interesting things during large animal hoof work. The first one being a cow who had a stick jammed in between her toes causing her discomfort Dr. Chad was able to get the stick out for her and she was very relieved! The other being an animal who had a sole abscess that needed to be opened so it could drain. Bovine sole abscesses are severe, painful, non-infectious, or infectious hoof infections causing acute lameness, often following sole trauma or white line separation on hard/rough surfaces. Both of these patients left with some relief thanks to Dr. Chad!

We love seeing all the different breeds of cats and dogs that we get to every single day! Every once in a while we come across a breed that we don’t get to see on the daily though and it is so cool to learn about new breeds!!! This guy is 2 yrs old so he has a little bit of growing left and not many of his breed come in this unique color! As you can see he is a big teddy bear🥰 here’s are a few fun facts about him!

Anatolian Shepherd’s are classified as a working dog, Anatolian Shepherds are large, determined, and focused dogs that have been tasked with guarding livestock, protecting families, and even protecting endangered animals like cheetahs. This breed is best for those seeking a serious guardian, not a social butterfly. Anatolian Shepherds are loyal, intelligent, and capable—but they are not overly affectionate or eager to please.

This is a day to recognize the hard work, talent, skill, and dedication of veterinarians! We are so lucky to have veterinarians that work hard day in and day out to provide the best care for our patients! Whether it’s a nice day out on a farm call, cold midnight calvings, or surgeries that save animals lives ,our veterinarians put maximum effort in!
