Happy New Year to you all!! It's that crazy time of the year where its freezing cold out but I am going to talk about summer! Id like to remind you that I drop down on the amount of grooms I do from the end of May through August to spend more of the summer with these handsome guys. That means I have a very limited amount of spots available through the summer.

Senior clients are treated a bit differently than the younger ones. We don't always get everything done because I don't push them if they are getting stressed (note his still wet ears), standing is a challenge and we go for comfort over looks because at 12 (roughly 84 human years) this old man just cares about becoming comfortable 🩷💗🩷

I'm trying to get a good idea of who is still looking for a groomer. I have a lot of followers who are not clients and get messages/calls daily. I'm trying to see who I can recommend people to and potentially see about adding some grooms/clients this fall. I try to have clients on a pretty consistent schedule so it's easier for me to see when I have room to add someone new. If you have a dog that you know you want on a consistent grooming schedule (every 6-12 weeks) please comment below!

A common question I get is how long does it take to groom a dog??

Murphy is such a good boy for his face trim! I need to be able to hold their chins and have them hold still to achieve that super 👌 face shape. It takes time for a dog to allow this and trust from both dog and groomer. They have teeth and I have sharp scissors!!

This may look like matting but in a double coated dog, such as Charlie a rough collie, it is compacted undercoat which I (most of the time) CAN brush out and work through. Now as much as I want to brush out and work through all dogs this isn't possible for dogs such as poodles, doodles, bichons, pretty much any dog that's not double coated. So as much as I hate to do it....matting needs to be shaved off. I know! It makes me bummed when I have to do I it too 💟🐩 See how handsome Charlie looks after his groom in the comments! ⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️
