Not only do we provide the only NO KILL facility in the Newburgh, New York area, but we are also the only source of Humane Law Enforcement in Orange County. Our dedicated staff and team of volunteers protect and defend animals and actively seek loving homes for each and every one of them – homes where they will be cared for and loved for the rest of their lives.

The Hudson Valley SPCA does NOT receive funds from federal, state or local municipalities. And we are NOT funded by the national organization, the ASPCA. Our work is funded solely by donations from our supporters. When you donate to the Hudson Valley SPCA, you can be sure that your contribution is used wisely. Over 75% of donations go directly to animal care with remaining funds going to support services. The Hudson Valley SPCA is a registered 501 (c) 3 so all of your donations are fully tax deductible. Happy Monday with a PUPDATE AS WELL!!!!

Update: We adopted Apache, formerly named Snoopy, in April.
It was an immediate success integrating him into the pack. Hindsight, it was a blessing that he had not been cat tested prior to his coming home with us. If he had, we wouldn't have been an eligible family!!
Training started immediately, and it was 6 weeks of him being attached to us by leash at all waking moments within the house. As we successfully worked thru his desire to lunge and snap at our cats. The training time spent was so worth it!! It also enhanced the bond with us and his leash training. He's doing great, is very healthy and has been a great addition.

This SUNDAY, JULY 20th!

The Hudson Valley SPCA - Orange County is in dire need of Purina One dog, cat, puppy & kitten food & CLEANING SUPPLIES!
The HVSPCA is a non profit, no kill community shelter.
They rescue hundreds of pets every year.
They rely on the wonderful local communities to donate pet food and supplies.
This year has taken quite a toll on their resources.
I will be there on July 20th from
12 noon to 3pm to receive donations from the community.
Specifically for Purina One dry & wet dog, puppy, cat & kitten food.
Cash donations are always appreciated as well as CLEANING SUPPLIES!
If unable to drop off in person, the shelter has an Amazon account listing their needs to be shipped directly to them!
Please help the HVSPCA save the lives of so many pets that have been discarded by terrible people.

This Saturday JULY 19th, FROM 10-4pm is our
AMERICAN PRIDE- VENDOR and CRAFT EVENT…

AND THEN ON SUNDAY JULY 20th!!
From 12-3 pm
OUR ANNUAL FOOD and CLEANING SUPPLY/ DROP OFF!!!
All of this taking place at our NewWindsor location.
Please check our page daily! We have a lot of great events, almost every weekend to help out our amazing shelter animals!!

Jaxx is a German Shepherd mix. He can be nervous of new people and needs time to warm up, so he would benefit from someone willing to take the time to get to know him. We are told he was good with other dogs, but would need to meet any dogs or children in the home here to determine his comfort level.

Bonnie is a mix of Kangal and Anatolian Shepherd. Breed experience is preferred. Kangals and Anatolian Shepherds are guardian breeds and may have unique needs.

Bonnie is definitely a playful, affectionate girl. She gets zoomies, enjoys treats, and has been known to make short work of toys... Especially when there's stuffing involved. She takes a bit to warm up to strangers and is protective of her people. You can win her over with treats and sweettalk though!

Quinn & Tessa are Great Dane mixes whose owner unfortunately passed away.

Great Dane Breed Experience preferred for them. They can be slow to adjust to new environments and warming up to strangers takes some time. Tessa is especially nervous, but both will require patience as they learn how to connect with people.

Hobbs is a young mixed breed. He came from a kill shelter in NYC with his mom & siblings.

He's a good size boy who needs some training, and experience handling large breeds would be beneficial as he's strong and still learning leash manners. At first, he might be standoffish but with patience and care, he'll warm up into a cuddly boy who gives a lot of kisses!

Husky lovers, these are 2 amazing Husky Mixes! They did not come in together and are not a bonded pair.

Lucas and Winter both enjoy long walks and playtime. Winter is a bit more quiet, while Lucas can be very vocal when he wants attention. Both of them are up for adventures! Just keep in mind that huskies are known escape artists and give them ample time to burn their energy during the day.

Jethro is just a happy guy. He loves life and his whole body wiggles with excitement for playtime.

When people go past his kennel, he throws his back up against the door for pets. If he gets let out in the fenced yard, he’ll sprint a few laps and then just lounge. Zoomies and rest are essential! He’s obsessed with cuddling and being pet (loves b***y scratches). He’s the tug of war world champion (tug rope of choice happens to be leashes, so you may need to brush up your skills to put one on him). Everything is a game to him and he has the best puppy dog eyes ever. Oh, and he absolutely loves toys. He loses his mind over a squeaky toy!

Note that he may not be good with other dogs as he seems to be selective with them.

He's currently at our Goshen location, 44 Police Drive.

Bear is a young Shih Tzu mix.

His owner could no longer take care of him and his siblings. He's good with other dogs. He can be a bit nervous when meeting new people, but once he's comfortable approaching you, he's a sweet little guy just hoping for his forever home.

He's currently at our New Windsor location on 940 Little Britain Road.
