It’s the first beautiful Saturday of November! We will be at the Petco on 92/Broadway from 2-6p with some amazing kitties available for adoption.

New rescues Shanah and Marisa are making their debut (they are so new we don’t even have their pictures ready yet!)

Kitten siblings Fiyero, Elphie, and Nessa will also be making their debut! These gorgeous babies were abandoned in the basement of a Bronx building- they are a little shy but getting more confident every day!

Juno is an amazing young cat who is so ready for adoption! Come meet us today to find out why she is considered a cat hero, and how she contributed to saving another kitties life 😉

And of course our shy but seasoned Petco veterans, Chitter, Chai&Charlene will be back again, waiting for the day someone decides to welcome them into the family! Maybe it’s today! 🤞

Mama Millie is a young, sweet, and loving tortie currently caring for her 3 week baby, Vanilli. This mother daughter duo is truly delightful!

They are in need of a foster home ASAP. This would be around a 6 week commitment (minimum) as we want to keep mom and baby together with minimal movement while Vanilli grows big and strong!

Once old enough, we hope to adopt them out together- Millie is a kitten herself and they will keep each other great company!

The Nightcap Kittens will be making their debut, as will flower!

Chitter was very surprised at the popularity of her video, so definitely stop by to meet her and let her know how much she is loved and to tell her that she will find her forever home soon!

Clarice, Marilyn, and Chai/Charlene will be in attendance…. We tried to get some better pics of Marilyn that show she does enjoy snuggling and being in your lap 🤣

It’s going to be a beautiful October Saturday and we will be at the Petco on 92/Bway for our weekly adoption event! 2-6p! We are starting to get in the Halloween spirit… so come by to grab a little early Halloween candy! 🎃👻💀🎃🍫🍭🍬

We will have adoption event veterans, the shy duo Chai/Charlene and the very skittish Chitter- all who have been waiting for a home since MAY! They need special adopters and one day we know they will find them!

Amazing kitten pairs Viviana/Peach, Little Miss/Muffett, and Durango/Tahoe will be in attendance! Their cuteness will make this Saturday even brighter!

Mama Blueberry Muffin is ready to leave her daughter Peach behind and start a new life on her own!

And the gorgeous fluffy Marilyn will also be in attendance. She doesn’t like adoption events so tends to hide her amazing and friendly personality… but trust us- she’s a wonderful cat who deserves a wonderful home!

If you’ve been following us for a few years, you may already know about Jaslo.

Jaslo was first rescued in April of 2021 after his loving owner was murdered in front of him 😞 this was quite traumatic, and it took him a long time to get comfortable in foster care.

He was adopted into his 2nd forever home, where he was very loved by his new human, but unfortunately the resident cat never grew to love him… and so he was returned in 2023.

Soon after rejoining the rescue, Jaslo was adopted into his 3rd forever home. He was renamed Tiger, and his new mom loved him soo much! Unfortunately she has been hit with some terrible life circumstances… due to many situations beyond her control, Jaslo will once again be returned to the rescue 😞 😞

This sweet boy is 8 years old and needs some stability in his life! He has had a rough few years, but we know the future is bright! Jaslo is playful, very well behaved, good eating habits, perfect litter habits. He is healthy, neutered and Fiv/Felv negative.

Jaslo is also in need of a foster home- so if you are ready to open your heart and home up to a friendly adult, please let us know!

We love you Jaslo, and we will find your happy ending forever home soon!! ❤️ 🖤 ❤️

Pete & Paul are two foster brothers ready for adoption!

Pete the tabby is 6 months old and Paul the black cat is 5 months. Paul is SOOOO loving. All he wants are snuggles, pets, and playtime. He is confident and outgoing and will adjust easily to any new home right away. Pete is a little skittish- he was abused before rescue and tends to flinch when being pet 😢 but he is sweet as pie and can be won over very easily with churu and laser playtime!

These boys are an amazing and entertaining duo- message us today if interested and to meet them in their foster home!

We fought hard for Danny, but nothing could match up to how hard he fought for himself. Today, his health took a turn for the worse… he stopped eating, and made it clear that he was ready to rest.

An FiV/FeLV+ stray, this young cat never had anyone fight for him his entire life. He lived alone on the streets, covered in scars, wounds, skinny, and hungry. He had no chip and wasn’t neutered.

Danny’s luck changed when a Good Samaritan saw him underneath a car, wounded, and decided to do something. Because of that person, Danny got to spend his final days warm, loved, safe, and with a full belly. If there was any chance he could make it through this injury to spend a few years in a loving home, we wanted to give that to him. But it wasn’t meant to be. After years of living in survival mode, Danny’s body had given enough 💔

Thank you to everyone who gave a donation in his name, and everyone who shared his story. And thank you to for loving him while he was in your care. He was so special and we take solace in the fact that his last days may have been the most comfortable of his life ❤️

Please know that YOU can be the Good Samaritan for a cat one day. Danny’s last days were relaxed and peaceful, and he was very lucky to get that gift. If you see a cat in need, please try to do something. Rescue groups can only do so much- it is on an individual level to help stop the suffering so many street cats experience.

🧡 MIKO & MISHA ARE ADOPTED 🧡

We are so thrilled to announce that Miko and Misha have found their forever home with a wonderful family in Washington Heights. This family met them at our uptown event back in August (the only event we let Miko attend because we don’t want to stress him out!) and over a month later submitted an application to adopt! 🤩 🤩

Miko & Misha’s journey with Animal Project has been quite an experience…. Rescued as 8 week old kittens in 2021, Miko had a broken hip and needed a femoral head ostectomy. Adopted together soon after his recovery, they had a wonderful two years before being returned to the Animal Project in December 2023 due to some complications unrelated to them!

Less than 2 months after returning to foster care, Miko became super sick with a mystery illness, and about a month went by before we realized it was FiP. Many of you followed and in true Miko warrior fashion, he made a full recovery!!

And the cherry on top of the Miko and Misha Sundae is their adoption together today 💕 🍒 ❤️

There will always be a small (2%) chance of relapse for Miko, but his new family is aware of what to look for and we are ready to fight the battle again should FiP rear its ugly head!!

It’s been an emotional journey and this is a wonderful conclusion.

We had four amazing adoptions today! Sapphire, Mazzan, Cezara, and former sad boy Nemo!! All have found amazing and wonderful homes and we are beyond thrilled for them. What a great Saturday! 💕

Another beautiful Saturday means another chance to meet some of our kitties at our weekly adoption event! We will be at the Petco on 92/Bway from 2-6pm!

Making their adoption event debut today is Peach & Viviana! This gorgeous calico pair are not blood related but it sure looks like they could be!

Clarice will be making her return to our events, she almost got adopted a few weeks ago but it unfortunately fell through 😞

Adorable baby kittens Durango/Tahoe and Dawn/Dusk will be also be in attendance!

And so will Charlene, Chai, and Chitter- these kitties are about 7 months old now and have been patiently waiting for about 5 months in foster care!

Gorgeous foster sisters Muffet & Little Miss are still patiently waiting to find their forever family! These two gals are so sweet. They love humans and they love each other! Muffet is very confident and outgoing, Little Miss can be a little cautious but only around strangers! They are just over 4 months old and ready for adoption- together!

If you saw our stories today or have been to our office recently, you may have met the wonderful Miss Pinky, our very own hospice foster. As you can see, she is a very helpful assistant when we are organizing records!! Not in the way at all! 😂

Pinky is a 14yr old senior cat pulled from the euthanasia list at a shelter where her family abandoned her. She was saved by Bunny at

Bunny does amazing work savjng senior cats in need. She is a one woman rescue and is in need of fosters and adopters.

Today was for the boys!

Three of our rescues got adopted today and we couldn’t be happier for them!

Moze landed an amazing home in Queens (where he was originally rescued, so he gets to go back to his roots 😂), Benny our FiV boy will be making his way right across the Hudson to New Jersey, and Slim the basement boy was adopted by his foster dad!

We are so happy for our boys! Congratulations Moze, Benny, and Slim!

Gold and Silver were rescued at the tail end of the Olympics with their mom and sister Bronze. Mom and sister have both found their forever home, and now it’s time for Gold & Silver!

Silver is affectionate, confident, and outgoing! Gold started out on the nervous/skittish side… and putting him in a carrier was asking for a nice kitten bite! But he has finally made a big breakthrough, and is now purring and enjoying being pet! Our little champion 🏆

Little Miss is our amazing and strong kitten found in the middle of 68/columbus w a huge hernia and broken leg! She is now all healed up and ready to find an amazing forever home with her bonded foster sister, Muffet!!

We are devastated to share that even though Gertrude made it through her emergency spay surgery, this morning she became extremely anemic and her own blood was waging war against her. They believe she was suffering from DIC, Disseminated Intravascular Coagulation, which even with treatment would most likely be a long and losing battle, where she would suffer greatly. And so we made the choice to humanely euthanize. 💔💔 We are devastated as her life in her forever home was just beginning 😞

Gertrude was rescued from Washington Heights where she and 4 other kittens were living behind a locked basement door. They were our Apple kittens (Gala, Delicious, Macintosh, Fuji, and Smitten). We are grateful to have been a part of her rescue journey. This disorder would have shown itself at some point throughout her life, but lucky for her she didn’t have to suffer through the pain of it alone and hungry in a dark basement.

Gertrude knew so much love from her foster families, and was lucky enough to find her forever home with her sister, Gala, only a few days before this disorder began to reveal itself. She had spent the last week at an amazing vet practice also being treated and spoiled like the princess she was. This loss is devastating in so many ways…. we can at least hold on to the fact that she knew love, kindness, and a full belly 💔

If you like the finer things in life… then you will love Benny! He loves being spoiled and enjoying all things luxury 😆 well… to a cat most everything is a luxury… so bring out the finest cardboard and watch Benny have a ball!

He’s playful, affectionate, and just so amazing!! Yes, he is FiV+, but that doesn’t mean he is any less deserving of a loving home!

FiV means he is a little immunocompromised, but a safe life indoors with a healthy diet is the only thing he needs to live a long and healthy life!! He’s such a cutie with a lot of love to give!!

Columbus is a little kitten picked up while foraging through garbage on 87/amsterdam. He was brought to who called us and we knew we could find foster placement for him quickly!

He’s now settling in to foster care and we hope to pair him up with Coco in a week or two… they will make quite a dynamic duo don’t you think?

Adopted in 2022 as 3 month old kittens…. Returned as adults in 2024 when their original adopter became pregnant with a human baby….. Luisa & Isabella have finally found their TRUE forever home and were adopted this weekend. They have been in foster care since February! Everything in life happens for a reason ❤️

We are so thrilled for them.

On June 6th, Miko officially finished his 84 day treatment for FiP (ended up being about 93 days for him 😉). Following that treatment, there was still an observation period of ANOTHER 84 days where there could a chance of relapse. A cat is not considered officially cured until the observation period is over….

Well, it’s September 14th… June 6th was 100 days ago… meaning Miko is OFFICIALLY CURED!!!

We had to celebrate with a little photo shoot…..

We still can’t believe that we took this journey with him (and all of you). Thank you to his foster family, & and their kitties Winnie & Harvey, for giving him such a safe and loving place to make it through the treatment and the observation period. He has a few battle scars (tiny bald spots from injections), but he is truly a happy, healthy, chunky & thriving cat!! (Available for adoption 😉)

Miko did give us one momentary scare in his observation period where he hid and didn’t eat for about 10 hours. FiP PTSD is so so real and that 10 hours was so high anxiety! But then he walked out like nothing was wrong and ate a full meal then played with some toys 😂 😂

Little Miss!!! The update we have been waiting to post ❤️ Back in July we ran a GoFundMe for Little Miss, a kitten rescued from 68th and Columbus. She was found scared, alone, and with injuries that our vet said could only occur with some sort of physical abuse. With the money raised, we were able to quickly get her the surgery she needed, and now, after way too long on crate rest, Little Miss is healed and ready for adoption! She has been paired with an adorable kitten sister named Muffett, and the two of them have become fast friends! We will post a picture of them together! They are ready to find their forever home and make a family very happy ❤️ Little Miss’s story would not be possible without the kindness of a stranger who saw her struggling on the street. Christine not only picked her up, but brought her inside and fostered her through her recovery. She continues to foster her today, and welcomed Muffett in as well ❤️ Her story would also not be possible without the donations we raised on GoFundMe. We are so blessed to have an amazing community that cares about our work, thank you for continuing to support us! Way to go, Little Miss!!!

Miko is almost at the halfway point! When he first started this journey in March, he was just under 7.5lbs. For context, he was 11lbs at the beginning of January! Picking him up felt like picking up a frail, weak and sickly cat. The phrase ‘bag of bones’ comes to mind. For his Day 38 injection, picking him up felt…. Normal! He is still skinny, but feels hefty! We could not believe when the scale showed 9lbs 2oz! His skin sores from the shots are healing, and his ear ringworm is…… there 😂 😂 Normal adult cats have healthy immune systems that can keep ringworm at bay, but Miko’s immune system is a little busy right now! He has to wear a cone while the lime sulfur treatment dries, and he is not too happy about that… poor guy has to deal with so much!Since he is making such good progress, we will continue two treatments a day, but will begin to phase in pills. We are hopeful that he will take well to this change, so that we can fully switch over and he doesn’t have to take painful shots anymore!
