It's a snow day at Uptown Vets! Chester had a fun romp and a back scratch in his back yard....
Please keep your pets warm and dry, and wash off any salt or snowmelt if they walk outside without their booties!

Henrietta Opens The Door
Henrietta is a rescue kitty and has been staying with us for a couple of weeks while she received needed tests and surgery. We let her have some free time downstairs after appointments, and thought someone was letting her loose, until a staff member caught her in the act of escaping! Smart kitty!
Our hospital cat LOVES human food. James let him have a little grilled corn today, and he was in heaven!
Check out Twinki, our current post-op kennel resident. He needed emergency surgery to remove his damaged left eye on Saturday, and has been a playful kitten from that very afternoon!
Enucleation, or surgical removal of the eye, can be a scary prospect to many owners. However, it is often the best treatment option for chronic or severe ocular conditions, where vision is already lost and the eye is nothing but a source of pain. Many pets' demeanors actually improve immediately after surgery as they are pain-free for the first time in months!
