With so many different brands and types of dog foods in the market, it can be confusing to know which is the best food to pick for your pup. Unfortunately, most brands of dog food are pretty unhealthy so it's important to do research and know which ones are nourishing your dog rather than harming. There is no one-size-fits-all solution for dog food, so it’s important to do your research and talk to your vet to find out which food will work best for your dog!

These are some of my preferred kibble for dogs. Overall, these brands have better ingredients than most kibbles in the market. If you want to learn more about ways to provide a healthier lifestyle for your dog, here are some great IG pages to follow:

I love feeding dogs raw food due to it being healthier for them, however, I know that it isn't always easy to do this. There are still things you can do to help make kibble fed dogs healthier! For example, you can add water to your dog's kibble and add sardines a few times per week. There are also many fruits and veggies that are great for your dog!

Welcome back, Gus! Gus did a board and train with Calm Paws Canine when he was 10 months old. I can't believe he is already 17 months old! I love to see all the progress he's made as a big boy and I am so proud of Gus and his owners. Overall, they've been doing great together and Gus is pretty well-mannered!

He is such a happy-go-lucky dog, always ready to play and be goofy. Gus is back for boarding and we are taking the opportunity to work on some of his current struggles. This week we will be working on recall since he currently has trouble listening when his name is called.

I'm excited for Gus to be back and to work with him again!

Meet Jack! Jack is from and is available for adoption after his 4 week board and train with Calm Paws Canine! He is a Jack Russell Terrier Mix, weighs 17 lbs, and is about 5-7 years old. Jack is neutered and up to date with all of his vaccinations. Despite him being found abandoned and tied to a fence, Jack is a sweet, energetic boy who loves to tug! He's also super affectionate once he gets to know you. Jack has lots of s***k and lots of food and toy drive. During the next 4 weeks I will be using Ivan Balabanov's Training without Conflict system to build our relationship through play; creating authority and trust in a genuine way. We'll be teaching Jack fun games with an objective and clear rules to help give him a good outlet for all that drive. Jack struggles with leash reactivity to dogs and fast moving objects outside, so we'll also be spending time teaching him how to focus on taking guidance from his handlers during walks. I'm super excited to see this s***ky little guy become the best version of himself!

Being a dog parent can sometimes be challenging and stressful. I often see owners struggling in situations where the dog won’t stop pulling their leash, causing the owner to get dragged down the street, or trying to get their dog to go for a walk when the dog is completely glued to the floor. During these difficult moments, it’s not always easy to stay calm and collected. However, there’s an agreement we make when we get a dog and that is to help guide them to live through a life that’s not normal for them.

Using the word “calm” in my company name came from the idea that a dog and a human should be able to enjoy their time together in peace. Raising a dog doesn’t always have to be a hard experience, and my goal is to help make it easier so that owners and dogs can live their best lives together.

Calm Paws Canine represents love, respect and trust between a human and a dog. It’s a relationship where they love each other so much even during tough times and frustrating moments. When you bridge the gap of communication between a dog and owner, you lead them to have a more enjoyable life. A life where the dog can get the freedom they want and the owner can include their dog in more parts of their day due to their well-mannered behavior.
