What was meant to be a fun Cats, Pizza & Cocktails adoption event at turned into an afternoon that some of us will never forget! While guests were hanging out & meeting cats, one determined little black cat named Mabel decided that she had other plans… she escaped & sent everyone straight into panic mode. 💥🐈⬛
The search moved to the back patio where the staff & friends jumped in immediately. 🕵️♂️ Armed with tools & a lot of patience, they started removing deck boards one by one. Every time they thought they were close, Mabel shifted to another corner, forcing them to keep going. More boards came up, fewer hiding spots remained & the tension just kept building. 👀
Eventually, after a lot of crawling, reaching & teamwork, Marcello managed to grab her & pull her out while Troy (one of the bartenders) helped get her safely into the trap. It was chaotic, stressful & a super real time, but Mabel was finally safe! 😮💨 And then, just like that, Troy saw her chartreuse eyes shining. One look at her, somewhere between adrenaline & relief, he realized that she wasn’t just a cat who needed saving… Mabel was *his* cat! 😻😻😻
What started as an adoption event ended with an adoption none of us planned. Mabel didn’t just escape that night—she found her person. Rescue isn’t pretty or predictable, but every now & then it gives you an ending like this one. We wish Troy many healthy, happy years ahead with Mabel. ✨🥂✨
