For those of you not familiar with the ugly side of the veterinary industry, we are ready to talk about it and, in turn, push for change. To everyone who has been a victim of unfair veterinary employment practices — we are here to support you, to lift you up, and to amplify your voices.

The veterinary profession has been exploited for too long. Unfair and inequitable compensation, punitive non-competes, overburdening by double-booking, insufficient healthcare coverage, suboptimal parental leave and similarly, no consideration to family planning - this is just a subset of the challenges these heroes need to navigate when pursuing a veterinary career.

We are happy to see the conversation around non-competes starting to receive more air-time, but the industry needs to go much further and consider radical change to catch up to its peers. Read our position statement and see how Small Door is working to flip the script.

Wednesday (11/17) from 5:30pm - 7:30pm: Yappy Hour at TALEA Beer Co. Beer Co. — treat yourself and your four-legged friends to some craft beer (first round is on us), hoppy dog treats, and some swag.

Friday (11/19) from 9:30am - 1:30pm: Coffee on us for all pet owners at Blank Street Coffee's Williamsburg location at the Wythe Diner. Stop by for some caffeine, pup doughnuts, and some fresh air during your work day!
