As draws to a close, remember that we're grateful for EVERY month and every day of the week where your kindness has moved us more than words can express, and in a world where we see cruelty, apathy, hypocrisies on a daily basis when it comes to the treatment of animals - it's the kind ones among YOU - who keep us going despite every logistical, finiancial & physical challenge we face in rescuework .

And amid all the others we already had, including - the recent intake of 20 more cats have left me with no time... 😔...so exhausted, I cannot even find time to place a fundraiser. However our wishlist is up at least.

Choose kindness & compassion 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼💕 Thank you all, all who care, all who are kind. And help the most vulnerable.

6 kitties to the clinic today to get spayed, vaxxed, fully vetted! And 8 more will go this week, plus others the next! And look who came to help schlepp them both for drop off & pick up :) at (Forgot to take drop off pics... I don't think of recording all the time) . Park Slope resident - who has helped so many homeless kitties!

(In between pick up and drop off I managed to take Billie for a visit to It's been such a long, exhausting day and it's only Monday...
Vet visits to both clinics lined up every single day!

is tomorrow and the best gift you can give to all companion-animals is to them please!!

On this day and every day - we send our heartfelt gratitude to all who have helped us.

We (as in the two principal ladies of Park Slope Cats & a couple of the people who closely work with us)have been through a lot. The number of cats rescued due to several tragic and/or horrific situations have surpassed more than we can handle in terms of space, resources and finances.

Yet, like all the scores of kitties we've helped through the decades (even before we named this group), we keep going - to keep them safe & vetted - whether they are injured strays, bottle babies, dumped cats, abused cats.. and so many others.

These are just a smattering of some 6 of our rescue kitties who are in foster or adoptive homes (more fosters needed please!) wishing you the best in

We are over our heads at the moment with over our capacity and going a bit bonkers! Other than the recent intakes of 20 from the hoarding case, which tbh should have been resolved by agencies a long time back, instead of leaving it to me to do this within 72 hours to avoid the hoarder's eviction (& jump into action the minute i was contacted by 2 samaritans) & then another week to get the rest out, we ALSO have several other kitties needing lots of help from prior cases whose upkeep we do from our own pockets.

So, food items, litter, play tunnels & toys are up on the list, in the hope that the very kind, empathetic, good-hearted among you who truly care will help out 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
Many of the items are below $20 so we hope any and every little bit of kindness can help.

Thank you thank you thank you all so much. For every person who is cruel to animals, we hope instead the kind ones step forward.

Words are not enough to express my gratefulness to all who help in big ways or small , and have helped since last year, whether it's donating, fostering, adopting, sharing, liking, spreading the word! You restore my faith in humanity.

For every foister-and-ghoster (& boy, I've lost count how many 😅😅 F&Gs are those who can FULLY afford a rescue animal's care but foist /dump an animal in my care & ghost without even donating $10 to vet care & food, EVEN while they post about their "fabulous" expensive lives online)- I would love to instead acknowledge all the ones who DO NOT ghost, who stand by my side, who help the most voiceless & vulnerable aka the innocent animals!

How could I not share this? In yet another month as continues and I worry daily how to keep up with vet care, vet bills, finding fosters, adopters, food - this beautiful photo (cropped to preserve privacy) had me bawling in joy and emotion.... it's love and kindness like this that keeps this exhausted rescuer going.... A week back kitty Daniel was with 36+ other cats, this week he's learning how to read in his loving after intook 20

Please, please, please know - truly - ... it helps rescuers, the cats and is so therapeutic for kitties and humans alike! Pic by

What I love about this foster family who have been FANTASTIC fosters to several of my rescue cats is that after their own beloved cat passed away they opened their home up to fostering soon after, unlike several I meet who, while mourning the loss of a cat, DENY any other cat - desperately seeking a bit of space - from coming into their home even for a short term.

They think the pain they feel at the loss of their prior cat surpasses the pain a sad, desperate rescue kitty seeking space and a desperate rescuer feel.... 😪 I know it hurts to lose a beloved companion-animal but when you take many many months, even years to open up your home again, you're sadly denying so many other sad cats the chance... what if your prior cat had been denied that same chance when (s)he needed fostering or a place to crash and receive love even temporarily? 🥲

So.... open up your homes & & to help your local rescue kitties so they too can cuddle up next to a human in a warm home, instead of being in a crate or with an overwhelmed rescuer juggling multiple cats....

Learn from this young fellow who LOOOOVES all cats... if he can foster, so can you! 🥰😺💕❤️

This story has been a long time coming.... and we have so many cats to post about, sweet Bagheera's case is hardly ever told. Swipe through the slides to read his story in brief.

He will suffer no more! He is SUCH a sweetheart... I rescued him from a horrific 40-cat hoarding case in the peak of summer 2024. There were so many, we intook 23 from the case & brought them to of which several have been adopted while 6 still await adoption, 16 went to the ACC (the 40th, a tiny kitten lost her life due to an interfering outsider who euthanized her without telling us by taking her without our knowledge from the premises).

At the ACC, three were euthanized due to medical conditions that had poor prognosis... of the remaining 13 there, 3 went to a PA sanctuary, 4 were adopted from the ACC, and as for the other 6? 4 of those ended up on their At Risk list (of euthanasia) as they did not thrive well in the cages. 😔 We couldn't risk their demise, so we pulled those 4 out through their New Hope program, adopted the remaining 2 from there so they'd be safe, so ALL the cats from that 2024 hoarding case were/are safe (other than the 3+1 which were euthanized).

Bagheera is exceptionally sweet and social and thanks to kind Jean, has been thriving at her place. But he badly, badly needed entropion surgery in a specialized way, that low cost clinics couldn't do.

So we went to the wonderful vets and staff of who took great care of him.

Last week he finally had it done. Jean fronted the costs... and I hope to repay her, so anything helps. Please join me in thanking kind Jean in this She is one of kindest souls on the planet.

Jean has also helped Bagheera's cousin Bellini in getting the same surgery this Spring.

Most of all we hope affectionate, social Bagheera and his equally sweet cousins Beatrice and Paul find

They get along well with other cats, kids and love people, being pet, brushed, playtime and food

Please root for Bagheera... he has 12 more days in his cone! 😺

We'll have our wishlist up this weekend as we're drowning in need for food, litter, including Kitten food. The kittens received their first vaccines yesterday. And while 4 cats have already got shots & vet visits, all the adults still have their spay/neuter appointments lined up and yet to go but will start next week.

When you multiply by the number of cats it's a lot.

Thank you thank you thank you to all who've helped, but we still have a long way to go. We have no spots at aspca clinics as they stopped adding new rescuer accounts since 2019, & even then they are hard to get and far away, so we use the bbawc clinic on Montague street, for all our spay/neuters. Costs there are much lower cost compared to private vets but when it's 190x20 - you do the math - plus sooooo many females among this 20, only 3 males!

In other words, anything anything helps. $5, $10, $20.
Wee pads, food, litter, pine litter for the kittens.

Thank you so very very much to all the kind souls who have donated. We are so, so, so deeply moved! We need more of you 🙏🏼🙏🏼💕

Update on the 36+ cat hoarding case... We got all the ones needing rescuing out!! Which brought our intakes to 20 in one week! 😳 Help!
Donate $5 or$10 or donate food. (Amazon wishlist for this to be up soon).

We got them all out in time... the less than handful who will remain with her are fixed.

Except for 4 from the ones we got out who are getting adopted the rest are all in temporary foster homes, remember. So, longer term fosters, adopters still needed. 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼

Ten are at ACC based on a call made earlier before we went, and we're monitoring to make sure they don't end up on the At Risk list. But so far, so good

All the cats are super sweet, affectionate get along with other cats and kids.

It was very stressful getting all of them out with so little time. We are so very grateful to each and everyone of you who donated. So very, very thankful!
You restore our faith 💕

We are no where near our goal yet as it's vet care for so many cats and so many of our prior ones too...

But we're soooo happy all the cats needing help are out.

Poor little Pumpkin has been taken care of all this time through the weeks, lovingly at and by the kind vets at ... we haven't posted about him the past week as:

(1) hardly getting time to post
(2) his care has been ongoing all the time I was dealing with the 40-cat hoarding case, but we didn't get time or energy to post several updates...
Here he is at his last vet visit and due to the SEVERAL health issues he has, his eyes are taking a long time to heal and enucleation may be possible in the future. He had to fight back other life threatening conditions and infections, so his fragile body was fighting off those first.

But otherwise his appetite has been great 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻 and he gained nearly 1.5lb in 10 days from the time he was found, skin, bones, and fur - covered in maggots, tapeworm, barely clinging on to life, with a massive URI, calici and much more.

His Will to survive has been extraordinary and inspiring.

Any help is greatly appreciated! Food, funds, best wishes, sharing...🙏
