How has gentle gorgeous Cally the not been adopted? SO VERY READY for her

According to her foster, Cally - a young adult kitty - is quite simply a purr-fect cat. She is sweet, affectionate and elegant. She loves gazing out of windows, sunlight, and soft chairs, string toys and her treats :)

But don’t be fooled by her calm purr-sonality. Cally LOVES to play! On occasion, she will bring you her wand toy as if to say “play time!”.

Cally is also very affectionate. She loves to get close, leaning on your lap or crawling on your chest, for morning, midday, and evening snuggles.

Cally would do great in a home where there're humans to love her, or WFH. And she will love you endlessly for it!

Her prior foster called her "the sweetest cat he's ever met. "

And, because she wants you all to herself, she's best suited as an only cat.

Oh, did we mention she's stunning! Her soft long hair calico fur, bushy tail and beautiful green eyes (which change color depending on the light) are sure to steal your heart. Vetted, vaccinated, litter-trained, negative on both felv/fiv, microchipped. No special needs.

A safe, secure, loving home is a must-have. She MUST be an indoor cat - meaning no, no walks on leashes, going out on balconies or into backyards. And a healthy diet of at least 70-80% wet food is a must.

Cally's can be seen on our feed... what an ordeal she and the other kitty faced for over 3 weeks till they were rescued by They're lucky to be alive as they could have easily starved to death after their human died in the hospital & the building wasn't notified.

Sherlock (more white on his face) & Sylvie are two sweet kittens in search of their . They are super-cute and cuddly and playful and absolutely adorable. I'll let you soak in their cuteness and write about their rescue stories in another post.
Yes they are orphan kittens and Sylvie needed bottle feeding. Sherlock is 2 weeks older than Sylvie. They are way too young to be fixed yet but have received their first dose of FVRCP vaccines.

We once again thank all our foster homes present and past - HUUUUGEST thanks to Jean, and many thanks to Jess, to Jessica, Dan, Alex, Ilse, Lisa, Leah, Natalia, Catherine, Christina, Evelyn, Destiny, Clara, Lily, Larry, Russell, Amy, Jordan, Georgina, Jamie, Diego,
and to Abby, Joanna, Penny, Sonia, Hailey, Carrie ... if I've missed anyone I'll add them.

Among you are foster-fails - heehee, ie those who ended up adopting,
while a few have fostered only for a very short time, while others for several months.

Either way, it made a difference. Because

We are seeking many many more fosters still! It's the only way we can keep helping these homeless cats.

Please understand - cats need foster homes for love, care, to decompress, for space and to be safe... we are not looking for fosters who want "made to order cats" as per their needs. They're cats - not a pizza order 😄 "I can ONLY foster / adopt a cat that doesn't meow, never scratches furniture, never ends up chewing the toxic plants i refuse to rehome, wakes up at 8am, goes to bed at 8pm, never runs around, is purr-fect for MY NEEDS in every way, doesn't have the right to be sad, shouldn't be funny, silly, but acts like a statue, never sheds fur. And oh - whose p**p doesn't smell like p**p but like scented lavender. One wrong move and come NOW and take 'em back, no matter the time of day, night, rain or shine!!" You know what you need? 😺 A stuffed plush toy! 😅

Pictured here is cat Kristoff who flourished SO MUCH in his patient, loving and is looking for a new foster or forever-home where he can be with another friendly cat. His current home already has 4 cats and it's a bit too much for him. He's sweet, gorgeous, playful and needs to be with a social cat.

Meet some of our who would be great as only cats 🐈 Their characteristics are written in the last slide of each of their picture-set.

They do get along with certain cats, but not with others, so it can be a hit-or-miss but suffice to say all these 5 are purr-fectly happy to be solo cats as long as they get their humans to give them affection, cuddles and food, shelter, vet care and lifelong loyalty.

Please also read the Cat Safety Essentials on our site. Yes, we ARE careful about that, and following a few incidents where those essentials were not followed (despite promises by the humans) we are being even more careful. (Thankfully no cats died but did get affected and we were stuck with the huuuuge vet bills. )

So, yes, if you wish to have a cat in your home, it is PERTINENT the home is safe for cats and kittens.
Please, NO plants or flowers toxic to cats should be in the home, care should be taken against fire hazards and other basic or specialized aspects of safety precautions. It's simple.

Fireworks 💥 scare 💥 animals 💥

When planning your celebrations, please know the perils of fireworks to animals.

If you're away make sure they're safe. Or stay home with your companion animals and make sure they’re safe, have music or TV to drown out the noise with familiar sounds, and leave plenty of water for them (and for wildlife who may have trouble finding their way home).

Fireworks terrify animals 🎆 🎇 Remember that and share.

And please don't take your pets to a fireworks display. No, it is NOT fun for them... don't anthropomorphize.

We're so behind posting about many cats and kittens - but what we won't delay in is THANKING ALL THE KIND PEOPLE who helped by donating to help the kitties. You're !

Rescue kitten Sherlock is here to thank those who donated items in the past 2 weeks through our Amazon wishlist, by reaching out through our site and those from who I could pick up through the Buy Nothing group.

THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH!! It is SO very appreciated! Every bit helps no matter how big or small! Every cat food case, packet, churu packet, litter, litter box and every other item is put to good use.

Special thanks to beloved Park Slope cat-sitter Emily for her generosity, and also hugs to those whose cats passed away and they donated their items to the rescue kitties.

Sorry there's so much to do, we can't even keep up posting or listing - with so many kitties to list online but oh yes - they're aaaallllll there!

Here's tiny girl Sylvie, a mere bottle baby when rescued, and has JUST weaned - exploring her piano playing skills 😹 She's feather-light - but managed to produce some avant garde minimeowlist strokes on Alex Skolnick Trio 's piano 🎹

A rescue through cooperation among rescuers and FB groups. Yesterday evening I received a message from a fellow in (he'd been messaging groups) about a cat found abandoned in the building basement. Not convinced what the fate would be when the super said "it would be dealt with," he reached out.

I asked him to imnediately join and post on my private FB group ParkSlopeCats for greater visibility.

Amazing local rescuers commented to help.

Vicki got in touch with him, went there this morning and got the cat.

Kitty has a big paw wound prior to trapping. Please help us with the vet care! Please! 🙏 🙏 🙏

We are giving our time, money, energy running on dry...
As a prior post says, everyone wants prompt last minute, clock-ticking-on-deadline rescue but not offers to foster :(

Please help find fosters for this kitty! Even a bathroom is enough! And donations for vetting.

I am closed for intakes with waaaaay too many including unvaccinated kittens who need to be isolated.

‼️‼️URGENT URGENT NEED FOR FOSTERS AND FUNDING due the kittiesat Park Slope Cats ‼️‼️

As you can see, big orgs with tons of funding and volunteers often don't come out to do the actual rescue or intakes leaving it to small indie rescue ladies! NYC's horrible cat crisis is unmitigated. Everyone is full from big to small to lone rescuers but the latter are often the most prompt.

Please help with food, vet bills, anything helps!

This was a clear case of someone dumping their cat. Goodness knows for how long she suffered! It's good the building residents saw her but wish they can foster too... but we're used to this by now. People want prompt rescue but the promptness is gone when we need help with fostering 😿 Still, thanks to them the kitty has a better future! 🤞🌸🌿
