From Frozen kitty to action cat! Kristoff is the sweetest boy you could find - and not just because of his beautiful cinnamon swirl coloring with white socks (one full knee sock included at no extra charge).

He has a wonderfully loud purr motor, and although he fended for himself alone during his life outdoors, he now oves to be around other affectionate . He’ll even let you pick him up for some high quality lap cuddles, which is truly astounding, considering the condition he was found in not long ago!

Kristoff was trapped on the coldest night of 2024, after a couple of people alerted Park Slope Cats through our group Park Slope Cats that they had spotted an older kitten scrounging for food at Poly Prep school near Maddy, Alex and Cathy spent much of that night looking for the kitty and there was success at 1 a.m.!

Originally named Elsa for being found on that night it was soon discovered that would probably be a more fitting moniker!

It is amazing how far this sweet but skittish boy has come in only a few short weeks and grown now and more trusting and discovered the joy of pets and cuddles!

Kristoff is neutered, vetted and vaccinated and would be happiest in a home with another affectionate and playful cat! But if you can give him oodles of love, he may be ok by himself... that's tbd.
To foster or adopt Kristoff, please reach out through our site parkslopecats.org

THANK YOU SO MUCH to all the kind souls who sent us kitty supplies from our Amazon Wishlist (link in bio on IG, link on FB https://www.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/ls/2YU7ZK83G10GH )

Five among our several rescues have posed to read out your names on the slides. If you want to be tagged, please msg me, and I'll edit the post. So here's Antoine Predock, Bartholomew, Bella, Kristoff and Paul letting you know just HOW VERY MUCH YOU ARE APPRECIATED!!

We have also included people from the wonderful Buy Nothing group (if I've missed any - then those will be placed for next time, since every act of kindness is a blessing! And for several we have already thanked in earlier posts from last year.

As well, HUGE thanks to those who Venmo-ed for the emergency rescue of the "Frozen" cat Elsa - who turned out to be a "he" (heehee) so he's named Kristoff :)

Happy and a few hours from

Our hearts are with all the homeless and suffering kitties and dogs (and all animals really) - the freezing cats on the East Coast and Mid West but most of all, hard not to feel very sad for all the animals affected by the fires in CA....

The cats in the carousel would like to tell you they are all up for adoption.....and that they're vetted, vaccinated, fixed, litter-trained and very adorable! :)

How cute is this fella? Meet Tango the sweet ginger kitty who suffered in the cold before he was rescued and brought in and decided he liked being an indoor cat :) He's being fostered right here in Park Slope.

Tango is friendly, inquisitive and loves being around people. He'll follow you around like a dog. He loves to play especially with his string toys and can be quite a boisterous player :-D. He has a cute high pitched meow and gives the best attention-seeking headbutts. He's good with friendly, gentle cats but will get bullied by aggressive, territorial ones, so if your cat's not friendly that may not be the home for him.

Tango's favorite pastimes are playing, eating and napping. And he's SO happy to be an inside-cat - but all he needs is a forever-home. Can that be yours?

Vetted, vaccinated, neutered, litter-trained, negative on FIV/FeLV.

If you're interested in fostering or adopting Tango, please fill out our foster or adoption application at parkslopecats.org

Volume up! A post not about but of Jazz Cats. A couple of nights ago, at , a wonderful shout out to board member by the incredibly gifted - vocalist at 's (he needs no inteoduction ✨️) residency at the Blue Note...

What a great night of MUSIC & ! Glad I could take just one night away from the immense stress of .

Everyone was just so amazing - from the brilliant (who is brains, beauty, talent & sweetness all in one) to (with a voice so special), to the beilliant pianist, bassist, drummer who I dare say - a trio I could have listened to forever. Chris Botti is a generous band leader, letting his band shine, and even on a really cold winter night, the line went for 2 blocks! (Thank you for the guest passes V!)

Fun hang after - where yes - of course I asked "If you know of anyone wishing to foster or adopt, please let me know!" πŸ˜…πŸ˜Έ But no, really - that's a given! Just so to get to listen to these .... of course living in NYC with a foot in the music world I'm no stranger to concerts BUT this one was especially sweet due to likely one of THE most stressful times of my life.

(Note to self- when you're already petite DO NOT stoop over so as not to obstruct the person behind you πŸ€£πŸ˜†)

It was a snowy day in and the cats had fun watching out of the windows.

Here's a clip of two of them... beautiful Bella with her snowflake star on her chest. Bella can be adopted solo or with a friendly cat.

Antoine meantime is one of the sweetest, most gregarious kitty around, needs a buddy.
All are vetted, vaccinated, fixed & litter-trained.

Sorry for my tardiness in posting .... our regular schedule has been completely disrupted by non-stop work in a race against time to make sure extremely abused kitties whose kin suffered for 20 years or more due to a HORRIFIC, abusive hoarder DO NOT go back to him after local rescuer Patricia moved mountains (of agony) to rescue the last remaining innocents after decades of horrors while the ASPCA did not declare this as a cruelty case!!!

There is so much proof from neighbors, the block president, residents, animal rights advocates, it's jaw dropping this torture was allowed to continue despite concerned citizens pleading in vain. Even humans who spoke up were threatened.

The hoarder continued to torture, maim cats and kittens while NOTHING WAS DONE BY AUTHORITIES - AND GET THIS : DUE TO A CLERICAL ERROR MAY STILL END UP GETTING THE LAST RESCUED CATS BACK - even though he sold his place in Nov 2024.

There have been cats with broken backs, electrocuted cats, frozen to death kittens, HORRIFIC injuries.... Cruelty to animals is one of the first signs of psychopathy.

Where is the justice for these innocents?

A lot more, these pics are just stills from horrific videos.... but no time or energy to post. I have been running on very low sleep trying to save their fate even after they're out, collecting data from varied sourced and a lot other coordination.

More soon. But please, they SHOULD NOT GO BACK to the hoarder and his agent.

We're hoping the nyc acc can help but sadly their hands are tied due to the aspca who knew of this for years but chose to look away...

How in any world , let alone right here in NYC, USA, which prides itself on being such a top city, can this go on with NO ACTION TAKEN AGAINST THE CRUEL ABUSER OF some 150 cats over time in district 35 ??!!

Feel free to contact me for details and data!

What a difference 4 weeks make!! These 2 are two of the luckiest and they don't know that... though I'm sure their kitty hearts and bellies recognize that! πŸ’•

It was on early morning around 1AM and later the same Sunday afternoon between 11am to 2pm on December 1 the weekend after , these two along with their siblings were rescued from a by Maddy - see prior posts on the case.

And the worst videos we can't post due to privacy concerns but can DM.

It was TRULY a basement of disgusting horrors with the destined for a miserable life πŸ˜₯ but an employee dispute led to access/permission to the rescuer.

Thanks to Maddy on site, a PST post, Lisa - the lady knight - who strode down at 1am with her steed, sorry car and in the afternoon too, and fostered for a few days along with Emily, (& both SO kindly drove each pair & Maddy to the vet appointments tπŸ™πŸΌπŸ™πŸΌ; thank you Vicki! πŸ™πŸΌπŸ™πŸΌ Also thank you Dave & Jean!) ...
they were soon back with Maddy at chez Jean's.

Then along came WONDERFUL Ilse who fostered this duo - Renzo Piano & Henry where they received LOADS of love. Pics 5,6.

And (drumroll please) - right after - they're in foster with the AMAZING who is a cat mom extraordinaire and an inspiring, courageous young activist with a heart of gold and incredible strength. Here they are... pics 7, 8, 9, 10. These kitties are SO lucky! (Thank you Ilse, Leah, Thomas)

My heart is so full...

There is a LOT of cruelty in this world. But it's the kind ones among us, among you, who make the greatest difference!

How's this for some ? Let's end the last Sunday of this tumultuous year with some shall we?

Here are or from rescues.... More pics to come, but aren't they gorgeous? Thank you for the first 3 pics and spending time with several of our today!

Pic 1 - Bartholomew - one of the rescues from a horrendous hoarding case - 4 y/o, sweet, quiet, loves pets and naps.

Pic 2 & 3 - Emily & her bonded brother Antoine (named after architect - due to his gregarious inspiring personality ) - they are 2 of several kitties rescued from a (long story, details in another post) 4-5 months old super affectionate duo

Pic 4 - Kristoff (who was rescued on a Frozen night last . Initially named Elsa, "she" turned out to be a "he" 😸) Kristoff was a hard one to get for the rescuers due to the biting cold that night - full story in another post.

All 4 are fully vetted, vaccinated, fixed, negative on fiv/felv and very affectionate.

Check out our site (link in bio) for adoption and fostering process.

All 4 are located in

Finally was able to post this - the reason for the delay is there's never a free moment in rescue, sadly! Park Slope Cats wishes all of you the very best on this Festive Season- watch till the end for the last clip as you'll see we've got everything covered! (we hope for this day!).

Here are a few of our rescue kitties (most posing against beautiful backdrops created by AI) - dreaming of what COULD be/SHOULD be their lives if adopted into loving homes! (just don't go on the beach with them...)

Our foster and adoption applications are on our linktree bio and the Amazon wishlist there as well, and also our site (a few pages still under construction.)

I am SO touched and moved by the kindness of several individuals - in what has been likely THE most difficult year since my mother's passing away a few years back. (Both my parents are dead.) But this year was particularly difficult for a variety of reasons. I faced immense cruelty from a few I had trusted and helped so much in the past.

Which is even more why - for those who showed Kindness, Empathy, True Caring for Rescuing Cats, Honesty and above all INTEGRITY - your support means SO much, words are not enough! While all along there are/were innumerable cats needing rescue and vet care - so there was no time to even pause.

Please your pets, educate yourself on , take a TNR course since it's up to citizen rescuers since there are too many helpless cats needing help and too few homes and not enough city agencies.

We hope for the day that no animal suffers on the planet - which is likely impossible as long as the cruel human species continues its destructive ways. So let's focus EVEN MORE on the kind ones among us!

This week's BIG THANKS goes out to Mary C, Ingrid N, Katie N, Yvonne C, Sally S, Brian J, Nela A, Tanya K, Sylvia R. Thank you all so much! You really helped these innocent kitties whose upkeep is daily, including the vet care of every intake.

And also to my dear fellow rescuers in Park Slope & close by neighborhoods - you know who you are - who have helped the in the most unselfish and caring way! Thank you!

Volunteers needed so I can post more, care for more, and do the list of the BIG number we've rescued this year alone.....

Part 2 of last post. Please read till the end to help!

Ok, I admit.... last night was objectively, Canadian cold... (- 15 C with the windchill by 2 AM, 5 Fahrenheit with windchill, and I've lived in Canada - and too!) but we were back again (See prior post) and were there from 10pm to 1:15am.

Thank you, THANK YOU Cathy SO MUCH for having your life-saving car! And for sacrificing sleep to stay with me so late!
And THANK YOU for spending 2 hours earlier in the evening with no car, out in the cold.

More scouting, no sighting, then kitty makes an appearance just past midnight.

She was using a nearby under-construction house's open porch as refuge where there was hardly any protection except a few cloths... and was scrounging for food in the bins at the school she was spotted at earlier in the evening by passers by.

Some hide & seek in the BITTER cold, then I laid the trap (Sorry no videos of that as...fingers were FREEZING!!)

Around 30-40 minutes, 1:15-ish AM, kitty was caught!

She was so happy with warmth & food that she fell asleep in the car, still in the trap

She'll go to the vet vet soon! Thank you Vicki!

All this is not easy. Still finding homes for the remaining un-adopted ones of the huge 40-cat hoarding case this summer (of which 13 are still in search of homes, with 10 at chez Jean's temp space where I look after them, and 3 with fosters), from the early fall emergency rescues of dumped cats, the deli cats recent rescues from the , the rescued recently with their vet bills, 2 more dumped pets whose humans heartlessly dumped them; now this stray - I've been paying from my own pocket and am SO EXHAUSTED, have not even found time for creating a fundraiser πŸ˜ͺ

If you want to help, please Venmo Zelle at 646 299 6457, paypal at [email protected] or donate supplies from the Amazon Wishlist in bio. Otherwise, please share, like, get the word out for fosters/adopters πŸ™πŸΌ

Not the way I expected to spend a really cold Saturday night (-11 Celsius with windchill, 12 Fahrenheit with windchill) but it turned into a night with (who vstepped in to help), trying to find a cold kitty on Prospect Park West after postings in the private FB group....

Thank you Anney for your prompt post today.

Another woman who spotted the cat yesterday only posted about him/her later today....
Note: if you see an animal in the cold, please act fast... please become citizen rescuers and don't expect the already VERY overwhelmed indie rescuers who are already over their heads helping to help even more.... it's brutal frankly.

Earlier this morning Maddy was out to get a tnr-ed senior cat in the cold.

Two hours in the freezing cold, and we'll be back again hoping to succeed this time.

NYC has a .... is overwhelmed too but hopefully they can help! Many cats and kittens will perish tonight in the cold.
Is the only way!

It's a snowy in and the kitties at are lazing it out. Just a few saying hello from the several housed at chez Jean's - looking for their foster or

They're such good kitties - all vetted, vaccinated, fixed and negative on both fiv/felv.

Link to foster or adopt in bio or visit parkslopecats.org

Also, please check out our Amazon wishlist... we're currently taking care of the upkeep of 15 in the holding space directly under , not counting the ones in foster homes and the outdoor ferals we feed of which one is being provided with dental surgery

For those who love snow, here's to a snowy πŸ’• But cats sure don't like it, and it's tough for the outdoor ones πŸ˜ͺ

Why microchipping your companion-animal is soooo important. This cat was reunited 11 years later!! From Wisconsin to Georgia, now back! If only he could talk! And he was saved in the nick of time.

Dave Dexter, the owner of the cat named Rutherford B. Cat, said he has not seen his furry friend in more than 10 years.
