Looong overdue - especially the first pic. THANK YOU SO MUCH to all the kind souls who donated towards Franny's whopping VERG bill! We still have waaaays to go but every kind act is a drop in the bucket.

Franny & Milk are two sweet cats who went through a lot in a glass factory and were found in an extremely emaciated and fragile state having starved for who knows how long, covered in fleas and with medical issues.

Franny had completely stopped eating and had to be rushed to the ER by Jean and me.

Milk was vetted after Vicki picked her up from the factory, but had cysts removed from her. She does have a healthy appetite but will need more vet visits.

Franny as you can see in the video has been eating after her vet visit last month but will need a lot more care. But thanks to your kindness she is doing SO MUCH better!

VERG quoted us 6000$ for in patient care and $1500 for out patient care for that night. We still are recovering $1500 we opted for and have more than 4/5ths of that amount yet to recover.

Pic two is a BIG THANK YOU to all the folks I was able to pick up food & miscellaneous items from - from the local Buy Nothing group. Thank you so much! Also a Thank You to Sylvia R for the litter and cat carrier.

There's no cuter pair than older kittens/ young adults and - two sweet, extremely affectionate who were rescued earlier this year .

Marmalade the orange boy and Honey the tabby & white girl are loving, playful, cuddly cats that will fill your home with love, joy and sweetness. They love hugs, pets, sleeping with you, on you, window gazing, lounging and loving you and each other. They're better as just the two of themselves and not with other cats.

Fully vetted, vaccinated, fixed, litter trained, negative on both FeLV/FIV, microchipped- all they need is a stable, safe

This duo is a great addition to any good home. They're also good with kids. Must be indoor cats.
Homes in NYC or NY, CT, NJ, DE, PA, VT all welcome!

Currently in a in , waiting for a which will keep them forever . They MUST find a home before the end of October 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼

Our kitty and everyday cutie too is our girl Helena! Rescued from a horrific situation with four other cats (the other four all have forever-homes now, thank you & Lisa! ), this gorgeous tuxedo kitty has somehow managed to keep an open heart and loves her life now.

Only days after she was brought to safety, she was offering “hugs,” by getting onto her back legs and reaching her front paws onto her rescuers’ shoulders up to bump noses.

Helena's foster mom says "the very moment you sit down, she’ll happily run to your lap for some quality time. She has even been known to ignore her tasty dinners until she feels she has gotten enough cuddles!

Helena’s foster mom continues: “This affectionate girl is quick to warm up to her humans. She loves giving head-butts, making muffins with her paws, and offering endless nose kisses. Helena is also an expert greeter and will excitedly welcome you home every day."

Helena’s favorite hobbies include snuggling, chasing string, and bird watching, and she’d love them all even more if she was enjoying them in her . She's not that into being picked up but game to all other forms of affection.

Helena's rescue story is pinned on our feed. She came from a where she was imprisoned for life, had not been called by a disgruntled employee . She had also been penetrated repeatedly in her privates by an object (since she had never been fixed and was perennially in heat). Sadly innumerable & in nyc live this life. Hence the name after rescue. Helena is Greek for "light" and we feel she went from "Hell" to "Light."

We'll be back...sporadically, till things are a bit better.

The on-site cat-care goes on uninterrupted thankfully. That's always been our priority and nothing stops that. The irregularity will only be in social media posting & emails + messaging. Thank you for your understanding

It's and DO we have MANY black cats looking for homes! 😅!!

They're all very sweet.. and if you think they look similar it's because they're related... from a hoarding case. We have many still left - as have a tougher time getting adopted.

Paul, Bella, Bagheera, Bette, Billie, Fletch, Beatrice, Joanne, Belle(adopted) are all black cats at and they love pets, play and affection.

Our are sweet, uber-affectionate Tigger & Mary.

They are SO VERY VERY READY FOR THEIR !

They are two of the sweetest kittens ever, who LOOOOOVE cuddling with you and with each other, seek out pets, lap-time, head-butts, scritches, snuggles and are PURE love and affection. And super playful too!

Recently the and covered the story of the abandoned bunnies found in Prospect Park... it all started with this post by Jean in the FB group . Park Slope Cats ' coordinator Jean - the kindest human I know in New York City posted this on the FB group of Park Slope, which caught the attention of local residents who then took in the bunnies with .

The saga is bizarre as it was then revealed that the dumped bunnies had been callously acquired for a photo shoot by the scam artist fake "heiress" Anna Delvey and then dumped. Who incidentally has over a million followers. Oh world!

In the midst of the MASSIVE ANIMAL CRISIS in NYC, and massive amount of pet-dumping of cats, dogs, bunnies - yet another dumping for the shallowest of reasons . Hey and others, how about covering the GIGANTIC animal crisis in and the lack of spay/neuter leading to this crisis TOO - and not just covering news only when some "celebrity" is involved?!

A massive shout out to Jean Bubley (who runs the Esther Bubley photography archives) and her friend Emily Davies who spotted the bunnies and sent them to Jean to post, starting this saga.

Yes, that's the same Jean whose kindness allows to keep going

Also - ad folks - can you stop using animal themed photo-shoots when you can't treat animals well and then DUMP them?!

URGENT!!! URGENT!!!! SHORT TERM FOSTER NEEDED FOR THIS FULLY VETTED CAT TILL AUG 29!! PLEEEEASE!! WE'RE IMPLORING YOU! 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼

Rescuers are over our heads, people with kind homes often don't foster still in memory of their dead cats, and at times even good people do not understand the insanity that most rescuers face where we're paying a hefty price for our kind hearts while we juggle multiple cats, NO funding, a GARGANTUAN cat crisis, being treated like on-call valet service folks. Operating on 2-3 hours of sleep.

WE ARE SOOO GRATEFUL FOR ALL THE KIND ONES, TO ALL OUR FOSTERS, AND ALL THOSE WHO DONATE FOOD, LITTER ETC!

Butterscotch needs a short term foster till August 30. We'd have brought him to our holding space, but have ended up with other cats.

Well done Amsterdam! Other cities with sheer drops in their concrete lakes or canals should also implement this

Amsterdam has allocated €100,000 to install small wooden staircases along its canals, dubbed “wildlife escape routes,” to help cats and other animals escape the water safely, following 19 cat drownings in six months, as reported by Dierenambulance Amsterdam.
