We hear it all the time in the dog run: "She is a natural in the water, my dog has webbed feet!" And, while that all may be true, I'm sorry to say, in most cases it doesn't make her special. Some breeds generally have more webbing than others, making them famously good swimmers (like labs and water dogs), but often times it's just the luck of the draw. Mutts of all shapes and sizes have webbing, sometimes a lot, sometimes just a little. And any breed can swim!

Meet the next member of our team! 💖🐶 Jennifer, a native Vermonter and former lawyer turned writer, co-manages the day-to-day operations of the company. Jen created our dog hiking service which was the first in NYC, and is the founder of our Urban Dog Wellness blog.

When Jen first met her husband Ovi she had two pups, a basset hound named Emma and dachshund named Oliver, who came all the way from Ecuador where Jen was teaching prior to attending law school. They adored Ovi's German shepherd Azzy from the start, and soon they became a "blended" family. 🥰🐶

Meet our trainer! 🐶💓 Ovidiu has been working with dogs professionally for over 25 years and founded NYC Doggies in 2002. His training method has been developed specifically for the needs of modern-day dog parents, with a holistic approach that considers how to achieve balance and obedience in the urban environment.

While earning his master's degree in naval engineering, Ovidiu and his German shepherd, Rex, worked with a former police dog trainer. Ovidiu loved the work so much that he became the trainer's apprentice, and the rest was history.

Ovidiu met his wife and business partner, Jen, at the Washington Square Park dog run. They now live in New Jersey with their two daughters, where they often welcome new dog friends into their home for training.

Look, dogs love balls. Dogs love them so much that, they are one of the best tools we have to train our dogs. Catch is more than just a game, its a chance to bond, its a way to burn off that extra energy, and most of all it teaches your dog the fundamental rhythms of responding to your directions.
