Cats and Causes has been a one-woman operation for 35+ years. Diana provides nourishment to animals and humans in need and ensures nobody goes hungry on her watch! Her goal was to minimize worry. Whatever the personal circumstances might be - cancer, major illness, disability, domestic violence etc. She understands these factors first hand. Empathy and dignity is whats offered always 💗

Donation drive for 💗

gathered us together to round up as much help as possible. Surrenders, abandonments and backyard breeders are at record highs, while adoptions are at record lows. Rescues are in the same boat.
This means that many animals wont make it out of
ACC, despite how hard they try and get them into homes, fosters and rescue.

Please donate these items so we can bring a little joy to whatever time they may have 💗💗💗

Hello friends. This is very painful to write, ps9 is on the verge of having to close. For 20 years I knew that selling high-end accessories in a pet food store was risky but for 19 years it worked! The combination of online shopping, rainy weekends and a few new pet-related businesses is forcing us to pivot. I just hope we can figure it out before we dig ourselves a deeper hole. NY state is very punitive when it comes to the sales tax deadline and twice in a row we’ve fallen short. Payment is due March 20 and we must pay in full or they are threatening to take actions such as the seizure of assets. And I’m not giving up Mochi! 😹 My accountant has never seen anything like this and has witnessed far worse. Feels like we’re being canceled!? But how and why? Any thoughts or ideas would be helpful if you want to DM us.
The idea to combine the stores again has been floated but I really don’t want to scale back our cat rescue. Plus getting rid of 1/2 the inventory in both stores seems risky. We are going to do everything we can to stay open, to keep the stores stocked with the healthiest pet foods on the market and to save more animals. Jimmy and Spider are back 😿 This was an unfortunate situation due to a sad family emergency. These boy/girl siblings are about a year old, fully vetted and very sweet. Jimmy has become quite outgoing and affectionate while Spider is more reserved. She’s still a bit hand shy but likes to be rubbed on the head with a wand. They are a perfect pair for first time cat owners, good with dogs and older children. Stop by the cat loft this weekend to meet them!

It’s happened again…two ps9 brothers returned due to “lifestyle change” 🙄 These handsome boys are now named Miko and Milo. They are super bonded, very gentle and sweet. Unfortunately we don’t have much space at the moment so is going to foster them in their shop for us. You can still stop by the ps9 dog store bathroom to meet them today. District Dog is located at 144 Driggs Ave, just down the road! Please share with anyone you know who is looking for a perfect pair of young boys.

This big beautiful boy was just found near Bedford and N. 7th street. He easily went into a carrier and got scanned for a microchip. He does have a chip but it’s not registered to anyone. 😿 Let us know if you hear anything or see any flyers.

Let's help Cuddles! This 10 year old sweet lady was surrendered by her family who could no longer care for her. She has a level 3 heart murmur which requires testing and a specialist. There is a mass on her side which we need to get tested as well as needing some serious dental health! She is currently in the shop, feel free to come show her some love! 💗💗💗
