Border Collie's possess genetic herding abilities, athleticism, and incredible drive. This herding instinct leads to the Border Collie’s renowned ‘gathering’ ability - rounding up a group of animals and bringing them to the shepherd. Gathering is a very common farm task for working dogs, but here are some others: sorting, driving, holding stock in a corner so the farmer can catch specific animals, and holding stock off of feeders so they can be filled.

We gave this stellar group of adoptable dogs a spoil day 💗

This year we celebrated the start of Dental Health Month with adoptable pups from PupStarz Rescue. After a day of zoomies, friends, and snacks each of the pups got to try our durable chews and pick out a few toys. Thank you to all the fine folks at Pupstarz for allowing us to give these pups a treat day! Here is some more info on the pups:

Stevie is a 5 month old, blind dachshund
Payton is a 3 year old Chihuahua mix
Paisley is a 4 year old terrier mix
Craig is a 3 year old Pittie mix
Bell is a 4yr old Chihuahua
Rae & Raelynn are 11 week old litter mates and hound mixes!
Jackpot is a 5 month old hound mix

LOOK AT THIS HARD WORKER! 😤

Does your dog love to dig in the yard? Digging is an instinctual behavior dating back to their wild ancestors and you can actually channel this behavior by giving your dog a digging spot. Sandboxes are fantastic - bury some rubber toys in the sand and that will make the sandbox more rewarding than the yard. If your dog ventures outside of their box, gently redirect them to their digging spot and reward the digging in that preferred place!

💡 DID YOU KNOW 💡

a yellow ribbon on a dog’s collar or leash is a sign to other people that the dog needs some space for a variety of reasons. The dog could be fearful, dog reactive, have health issues, anxiety, over-excited, not child friendly, or is in training. If you see a yellow bow (or a leash band) make sure to give space and be mindful of that dog and human! 💛

This is Rauch! He's a rescue, has narcolepsy and is absolutely unstoppable 👏🏼

Narcoleptic pups will fall asleep often while out about doing something they find very exciting and then, moments later, wake up abruptly.
