Simply Horsemanship clinics never disappoint. It was Michelle and Stephani''s 2nd time at Nash Hill near Gowanda in New York.

Dexter and I attended and even took an attempt at L3 that we found we were pretty successful at.

It's a wonderful group of people and there was lots of laughter both on and off horses.

Go WE!

Day Three...Show Two. NYSWE has done it! By the skin of our teeth we pulled off a clinic and two licensed shows (One more clinic tomorrow.) We are so thankful to all of the competitors and volunteers that came out to make this weekend happen. A huge thanks to our intrepid judge, Susan L Watkins, for spending what must have seemed like a lifetime at an airport before making it to us ... and then still having the energy to judge for 2 days. I also can't say enough good things about Chris, the grounds manager, from Schaghticoke Fairgrounds.

Safe travels home everyone!

Thanks for being good to us Schaghticoke.

It's the official close of NYSWE's first licensed competition. It was far harder than anyone would have anticipated it to get to this point. Here we thought we'd done all the background planning and had everything in place ahead of time. We never fully anticipated that the judge might have travel issues. We did anticipate it, by purchasing travel insurance and hotel insurance, but we didn't FULLY anticipated.

Although she left California early on Thursday to arrive in time for Friday morning clinic.... Well, things did not turn out quite as planned. First there were thunderstorms that delayed her flight out of Atlanta, then they had staff for the plane, but not a captain to fly the plane. And by the third delay the IT security update had hit the world and created a huge snafu. For the next 24 hours plus a lot of time was spent trying to get her to Albany New York. Somehow a miracle happened and Susan Watkins arrived in Albany around 2:00 a.m. on the 20th.

So the show on the 20th that had been licensed, and then a schooling show, once again became a licensed show! While it was somewhat warm, It was still a pleasant day and all of our riders did a wonderful job.

I am happy to say that NYSWE has completed their first organized show and it was a success. On word and upward to tomorrow where we do it all again 🙂 except for this time we already have a judge here!

There's been a break in the case. Great things are going to happen tomorrow!

It was a great day for a clinic. Thanks so much to my great friend Megan Malan for stepping in at the last minute and giving such awesome instruction. I so appreciate her.

It was a long day, and as I tuck into bed my head is swimming with thoughts of what tomorrow will bring. The arena looks peaceful tonight just waiting for the excitement tomorrow.
