🐾 Foster Friday! 🐾 Sprinkles is a sweet-as-pie former momma! After raising her six kittens in foster, she is ready to find a home of her own. Sprinkles is an absolutely beautiful 3-year-old calico who is very affectionate. She loves petting and will especially ask for head scratches ❤️

She is a wonderful, calm work-from-home companion! No matter your schedule, she loves the company of her people 😻 Sprinkles is the purrfect combination of independent and cuddly! (Do we even have to mention she loves lounging in bed with you!!)

New environments can bring out Sprinkles’ shy side for a week or two, but with just a little time and patience, this sweet girl makes herself right at home! Sprinkles may also do well in a home with other cats with the usual, slow introductions, which she started trying out in foster.

Check out handsome 3-year-old Goji! ❤️

Goji is so cute that he has his very own playing card! Thanks to wonderful volunteer Amber for making him one!

Goji was returned to us a few months ago because he had a very difficult time adjusting to a new person in the home. His adopter -who he was very attached to - got married and a new person moved in, and Goji was never given time or adequate training to adjust to the new person. For him, this person was a stranger and his instinct was to guard and protect his person. So, poor Goji was returned to the shelter and this probably just reinforced his belief that if he didn’t guard the people and things he loved, he would lose them. 🥺

But the good news is that Goji is an incredibly sweet boy who just needs someone to show him that he’s safe and secure, and help him build his confidence. He’s already made great strides in the shelter - learning “free”, “leave it” and “place” - all excellent commands to help counter resource guarding. And he’s been benefitting greatly from our doggie playgroups in Westhampton! He’s been getting along great with the other doggies, learning how to communicate and respond to cues and even to politely remove himself from situations he doesn’t feel comfortable in (like when other pups are playing a little too rough for him). He’s really been working SO hard and making so much progress, and we can’t wait to see him find a loving home, where he can settle, and know in his heart that he’s truly safe and loved. ❤️

Meet Baxter, this sweet boy who was discovered in a box, abandoned, along with his 7 siblings. While all his brothers and sisters have found loving homes, Baxter is still patiently waiting for his forever family. As you can see from his photos, he was just a tiny baby when he arrived. It’s been over a month of waiting now, a quite long time for a puppy in this crucial developmental stage.

Fortunately, Baxter is making the most of his time socializing with both people and dog friends, enjoying every moment. He's great with people and is in the process of learning to play with his fellow pups. Baxter is still just a baby who deserves a family of his own, where he can grow up surrounded by love and reach all his important puppy milestones with a family rooting him on. As much love and attention we try to give him, he still spends every night alone in his kennel, which breaks our hearts.

Did you recently adopt kittens Honey, Jam, Drizzle, Compote, Syrup or Dollop? Those precious little ones were loved, reared and nurtured by their beautiful, loving super mom, Sprinkles.

She worked so hard and took such good care of them, and as is always the case, her kittens flew out the door but she’s still with us, waiting for her chance to be comforted and cared for. 🥺

She’s a good girl, is super affectionate, and is a wonderful work-from-home companion! We also think she may do well in a home with other cats. She’s currently in foster and slow introductions to the other kitties have been going well.

This adorable girl is one-year-old Ursula, and sadly, she is reaching her 100th day with us - such a long time, especially for a young kitty like her.

Ursula is a mix of mischief and sweetness all rolled into one. Sometimes sassy but always entertaining, Ursula loves to greet visitors in the kitty room and will happily snuggle up on your lap, purring away. When she’s done being all lovey-dovey, she’ll let you know (this is where the “sassy” part comes in). 🤣

Ursula is seeking a cat-savvy adopter and would do best as the only pet in a loving home where she can be the center of attention. She will need to go home with her BFF, a stuffed bunny, whom she hates to be away from.

URGENT! We are desperatley looking for a foster in Long Island who can foster 20-year-old Charlie. We are ultimately looking for someone who can love him for the remainder of his life (he will be a fospice case so Bideawee will pay for all expenses) but as of now, we’ll take someone who can even take him for a few weeks until we find something more permanent. Charlie is in Westhampton so you must be able to drive to either our Westhampton or Wantagh location.

Charlie was just rescued by Bideawee after his owner passed away and the family could not care for him. He was brought to our Westhampton Animal Hospital to be euthanized but our vet thought he had a lot more life in him and believed he deserved a chance to be loved until his time came. ❤️‍🩹His whole world has been turned upside down and he’s extremely unsettled. He is deaf, mostly blind, and has a bit of handling sensitivity, meaning he doesn’t really want to be picked up. Instead, he needs a patient home who will let him decompress.

He is going to become a fospice case, which means he will not be adoptable and we will be looking for a forever home foster for him until he crosses the rainbow bridge. However, right now we are just even looking for someone willing to foster him for a few weeks while we find a fospice. He’s currently living with a staff member who will be going away Tuesday and cannot take him, and we don’t want him to spend time in the shelter since he is so old, stressed, and fragile. A willing foster would need to be able to pick him up Monday or Tuesday.

He is not housebroken. He doesn’t bark inside but does bark during car rides. He coexists well with other animals as long as they are calm. Bideawee will provide a playpen to keep him contained as needed, as well as food, medications, and wee wee pads. We can also reimburse if you purchase wee wee pads in addition to the ones you pick up from us.

We are currently looking for Long Island vs NYC because transportation is hard for him and he also seems to like outdoors but only quieter situations and we worry the city may be too much for him.

Cocoa Puff loves summertime ☀️ If this boy could live outside, he would - except he’s looking for his forever home and adopter to enjoy the outdoors with! Cocoa Puff hops in between sunbathing in the sun cooling off with a nap in the shade. He loves listening to the birds and tiring himself out chasing insects.

Cocoa Puff is a 10-month-old adventurous little ham looking for an active home. He has housetraining down to a tee and is working on being more confident with separation from his fosters. Adorable 3-month-old Lacy is one half of the gorgeous sister duo, Lacy & Lily! These two are looking for separate homes (you know how it is; they love each other but are also eager to chart their own paths!) and sadly, both have been getting overlooked at our Chelsea location. And now that we have more puppies, we are worried that they will be overshadowed once again.

Lacy and her sister love to play (especially Lacy!) and both enjoy time with people and puppy friends! Lily is the shier of the two and Lacy is definitely the party girl! She loves being outside, chasing after balls and stuffed animals and is always in search of fun!

🐾🐶 Meet Iceburg! 🐶🐾

Iceberg was found wandering in a park, scared and confused. Thankfully, he was rescued and brought to our care, and we have promised to find him a wonderful forever home. Although Iceburg may have faced hardships and unkindness in the past, you would never guess it because he is the sweetest boy. ❤️

Iceburg is a social pup who loves to meet new people and is always ready to greet you with a wagging tail. He’s being doing great on his walks and has wonderful manners. We are already in love with this boy and can’t wait for him to be in a home where he is cherished, loved, and hopefully spoiled rotten! 🙂

Meet Pancake, a gorgeous 2-and-a-half-year-old gal on the lookout for a special someone to share belly rubs and playtime with!

Pancake may start off a bit shy, but once she warms up, her tail never stops wagging. She's a pro at chasing toys, fetching balls, and taking long walks in the hopes of spotting some wildlife! Spending time outdoors relaxing with her people friends is her favorite way to spend the day.

Pancake recently underwent two surgeries to fix her cherry eye, and she's bounced back with a wagging tail and a smile. Her future parent will need to visit with an ophthalmologist post adoption for a check-up and to discuss follow-up treatments, and we will be happy to talk with you about this in more detail.

Due to her medical treatments, poor Pancake has been with us for quite a while and is really looking forward to hitting the road! We can’t wait for her to find a wonderful family and a home of her own where she can spend each day and night feeling comfortable and loved. ❤️

It’s Foster TWO-sday with Perkins & Chaplin! 😻+😻

These 2 tiny, inseparable, 11 month old sisters spend most of their time together playing, eating or cuddled up for a nap (in bed with their fosters!) When apart, they softly mew “I’m over here, where are you?” 2 find one another 💕 Both kitties delight in romping around with pretty much any type of toy, but the best toys of all, for reasons only these sisters understand, are the green ones 🪀

These girls were once young strays living under a porch. Initially new 2 and weary of life indoors, they’ve come around completely! They have become incredibly affectionate cats, full of kitten energy and so curious about their humans 🐾

Chaplin wears a moustache and takes on a motherly role looking after her twin 👯‍♀️ Chaplin is partial 2 belly rubs and quite often demands them, particularly in the late afternoon. Perkins loves 2 curl around your feet in bed and is in charge of neighborhood watch. Right after breakfast, she assumes her post on the window ledge 😻

These 2 girls have completely taken 2 life inside with people, love being petted, and share a bond with one another that is a delight 2 behold.

Meet Versa, a sweet two-and-a-half-year-old boy found abandoned and brought to us by a Good Samaritan. We knew as soon as we met him that he had been a housecat and perhaps had never been outdoors. He was understandably incredibly scared and confused, but despite his initial fear, Versa is now showing great progress!After giving him some much-needed time to relax and settle in, Versa has transformed into a sweet and affectionate kitty. He welcomes visitors with gentle headbutts and loves receiving pets. While he is still very nervous in the shelter environment due to the noise, new people, and commotion, we believe that in a calm and loving home, he will blossom into the perfect lap cat and best friend. Pancake

Meet Pancake, a gorgeous 2-and-a-half-year-old gal on the lookout for a special someone to share belly rubs and playtime with! Pancake may start off a bit shy, but once she warms up, her tail never stops wagging. She's a pro at chasing toys, fetching balls, and taking long walks in the hopes of spotting some wildlife! Spending time outdoors relaxing with her people friends is her favorite way to spend the day. Pancake recently underwent two surgeries to fix her cherry eye, and she's bounced back with a wagging tail and a smile. Her future parent will need to visit with an ophthalmologist post adoption for a check-up and to discuss follow-up treatments, and we will be happy to talk with you about this in more detail. Due to her medical treatments, poor Pancake has been with us for quite a while and is really looking forward to hitting the road! Sweet Melo has been patiently waiting for his forever home for what feels like forever. This sweet boy first came to us in 2021 when he was just a pup he was quickly adopted, but sadly came back to us as an adult who was not properly socialized. He has been diligently working on his training exercises like a star student and is doing great! With a patient adopter who will continue to work with him, the sky is the limit! 🌟 Despite Melo’s big and strong appearance, he is a sensitive boy at heart who craves love and companionship. 🐾 The highlight of Melo’s day is a trip outside to romp around and work on his favorite hobbies; collecting rocks and rolling around in the grass. He never fails to make us laugh and is a total goofball at heart. But most of all, he just wants to be around his people friends. His greatest joy is having someone by his side, giving him pets, and reminding him that he is loved. ❤️ Melo will do best in an adult only home with no furry friends. This sweet boy is Jellybean, a lovable kitty who is in need of a caring forever home! Sadly, this sweet boy has found his way back to us twice through no fault of his own. Upon his initial return, Jellybean was not only overweight but was also covered with severe mats. With our team's dedication, he received necessary medical care and lots of TLC. We were overjoyed when he found a new home, but sadly, he came back again, and his weight issues had not only persisted, but worsened, tugging at our hearts. Despite his struggles, Jellybean's loving nature shines through. Our staff and volunteers adore him for his sweet and silly disposition and his yearning for love and companionship. We are seeking a committed adopter who will not only love him as much as we do, but also support him on his weight loss journey with guidance from a veterinarian. During a recent mobile adoption event, Jellybean patiently waited in the window, hoping to find a loving family. Sadly, some bystanders chose to mock him, some even taking photos and laughing at him.
