Welcome to West Village Vets. We provide compassionate care for your pets by people who LOVE them.

The West Village Veterinary Hospital (WVVH) opened in 1979 offering veterinary care, animal surgery, cat and dog vaccines, general pet health, and dental care to pet owners in the West Village, Greenwich Village, Meatpacking and Chelsea neighborhoods. After nearly 30 extraordinary years at our original NYC location on Washington Street, we moved the animal hospital to a much larger facility in the

summer of 2008. Our location on Eighth Avenue allows us to serve the neighborhood’s pet health needs in a modern facility where you will continue to find a warm, friendly, neighborhood welcome.

At , we celebrate Dia de los Muertos💀 with a special ofrenda to remember and honor the pets who have crossed the rainbow bridge 🌈.

Our altar is now in display in our lobby, filled with bright marigolds, tokens, and memories of our furry loved ones who have touched our hearts.

We invite clients and neighbors to bring a photo of their beloved pet to add to our ofrenda and share in this beautiful tradition of love, remembrance, and community. 🕯️🐶🐱

Meet Franchesca, LVT eligible! Franchesca started at as an intern from SUNY Delhi in 2023. She is currently studying for her Veterinary Technician National Exam (VTNE) to be officially licensed! Franchesca has always loved animals and fostered pets which led her to this field. When she’s not in the hospital, she likes to workout 🏋🏾‍♀️, try new restaurants 🍽️, and travel to the Caribbean 🏝️! Here is a pic of her tending to a goat that is recovering from surgery 🐐.

Thank you Franchesca for your cheerful and calm optimism. Even when things are crazy busy at the hospital your presence helps to remind everyone to just take a step back and breathe 🧘🏾‍♀️. Your technical skills are continuing to grow stronger everyday and are excited for your bright future in veterinary medicine!

Meet Janeen! Janeen has worked in the veterinary field since 2001 and is currently enrolled in the LVT program at Penn Foster. She has worked in emergency care, specialty care (oncology, internal medicine), and general practice. She lives with her fiancée and 3 kitties (June Bug, Rorschach, Stripey ) in Staten Island. When she’s not rescuing cats, she likes taking care of her many plants e , collecting

Happy veterinary technician week!

Meet Briana, LVT and hospital supervisor. Briana started as an intern 10 years ago! She’s always wanted to work with animals since 1st grade. Briana loves DIY projects for her home in Jersey 🏡 , exploring new places with her husband, and well behaved pets like her 2 kitties (Lily & Milly 🐈🐈‍⬛). She enjoys playing Pokemon Go🔴 and trying new food🍽️ in her spare time.

Thank you Briana for your continuous optimism and support for everyone around you 🌟 . We all appreciate your efforts to make every staff member feel special when you plan our hospital holiday parties, baby showers, and birthday celebrations 🎉🥳. Your attention to detail shines through your work as a technician and supervisor.

Meet Melissa, LVT! Melissa comes from ☀️ Florida and joined our team in 2018. She has worked in the field since 2017 and her love for Rocky 🐕‍🦺 (pictured above) inspires her to do her work. Melissa lives with her husband and toddler in Queens. When she’s not helping make our workflow efficient, she loves reading, visiting her family in Florida, and feeding her pet gecko 🦎, Sally!

Meet Ashleigh, LVT! You maybe have also seen her at . Ashleigh worked in emergency medicine in Long Island for 5 years before joining our team about a year ago. Ashleigh lives in the UWS with her 2 rabbits, Shadow & Luna 🐰🐇. She loves reading, hanging out with friends, and watching horror films 😱! “My favorite part of my job is being able to speak for those who can’t speak for themselves.” 🙊

Happy October! 10/12 is National Veterinary Technician Appreciation Week! While we appreciate all of our support staff year round we would like to use this month to highlight the incredible team at !

Meet Audrey, LVT! She is also our assistant hospital manager. Audrey is our most veteran hospital employee since 2003! Audrey lives with her family, 2 cats, and yorkie in Long Island 🐱🐈‍⬛🐶. When she’s not monitoring for surgery or pulling blood from difficult veins for us, she enjoys event planning, working out, and spending time with her grandbaby boy.

Thank you Audrey for all the support you have given to everyone here. You are an integral part of the backbone of our hospital. 💪

Bittersweet goodbyes for two of our valuable veterinary assistants, Michael and Valentina! While we will definitely miss these amazing team members, we are also so excited for your future endeavors.

Michael will be attending the UPenn Veterinary School and Valentina Western Veterinary School this coming fall. 👏 🥳
