A heads up for anyone who has hired or is thinking about hiring a walker that does 'pack walks.' THIS is often what a 'pack walk' looks like. Dogs being tied up & ignored, left alone, exposed to bad weather & at times in distress. In this particular instance, there were dogs howling they were so distressed. Walkers often leave dogs tied up on the street while they enter a bldg to retrieve yet another dog. They can be left alone for quite a while with little (or no) supervision.

PLEASE research any walker you hire. Make sure this is not how they handle your dog.

This picture was taken on York Ave on Monday. If you recognize your dog or anyone else's, please get a hold of the walker immediately and demand an explanation.

Great advice as always from The Schwarzman Animal Medical Center

šŸŽ„ The Christmas tree is a cherished holiday tradition, but it can pose hidden risks for our animal companions. Here are 8 ways to pet-proof your tree and keep the season joyful:

Ā· Skip the tinsel: It's dangerous if ingested.
Ā· Choose sturdy ornaments: Fragile glass baubles can break and cause injury.
Ā· Sweep pine needles: Prevent upset stomachs or blockages.
Ā· Cover the tree stand: Keep pets away from water that may contain harmful chemicals or bacteria.
Ā· Anchor the tree: Prevent tipping accidents caused by playful pets.
Ā· Skip edible decorations: Treats like popcorn garlands are too tempting for pets.
Ā· Place lights wisely: Keep them out of reach to avoid shocks or burns.
Ā· Donā€™t put gifts under the tree: Ribbons, bows, and food-filled packages can be temptingā€”and dangerousā€”for pets. Store gifts securely until Christmas morning!

Follow these simple steps to keep your Christmas tree festive and pet-safe! For more ways to keep pets safe during the holidays, watch Dr. Carly Fox's webinar at the link below.

Wishing all of you a happy and safe Thanksgiving!

11/27/2024

We've talked a lot about pet safe foods for Thanksgiving, but stress is another consideration to think about. Some pets love having company, others get overwhelmed quickly. Make sure your pet has a safe place to go if it all gets too much for them. And be wary of pets dashing out open doors as people arrive and leave.
