Happy Halloween from PicKFish Pets! We were blown away with the turnout of trick or treaters and all of the amazing costumes here on the boulevard in Kenilworth!

4 GIANT bags of candy all completely gone!!!! Gonna have to grab double the amount for next year for sure!!!

A pet fish may seem like an “easy” pet to care for, but they can live for up to 20 years, and should be considered a long-term commitment.

Here are some things to look out for when you pick out a pet fish:
• clear eyes and no discolouration, with upright fins
• alert and swimming easily
• not sinking or bobbing to the surface
• no lumps, bumps, wounds or clamped fins
• not ‘sulking’ in the corner
• no trail of waste matter from their vent

If you have any doubts about a fish, you should not choose it.

These little Sulawesi Cardinal Shrimp, Caridina dennerli, are so awesome! Such vibrant red coloration with white polka dots, it looks like a salt water cleaner shrimp in freshwater! They do also prefer water with a higher PH as well - 7.8 to 8.2 and also like warmer water temps as well.
