💔We just received a critical plea for help. A young dog was found on the side of a highway in serious condition.

His body is emaciated and covered in fleas. His skin is red, raw, and infected. He has no muscle tone, his head is sunken in, and the worst part is his jaw is locked. There are no apparent signs of injury, but he cannot open his mouth.

Animal control rushed him into the shelter, and the staff are doing everything possible to help him. They are syringe-feeding him water and food, but it’s not enough.

The vet is worried he has Masticatory myositis, an immune-mediated, inflammatory condition that affects the muscles of mastication. If the disease goes untreated or has progressed to the point that most of the muscle fibers of the jaw have been replaced by fibrous tissue, this disease is not curable.

Whatever is causing the lockjaw, we have to do whatever we can to save his life. He looks pitiful and breaks our hearts.

We are getting him out of the shelter and critical care right away. Please help us save Oggie’s life.

💔A shelter is no place for a puppy - let alone a terrified blind puppy. We received a heartbreaking plea for help from Tifton County Animal Services.

A seemingly blind puppy was found as a stray alone in a field. The animal control officer picked up her cold body and brought her into the shelter. The loud noises of dogs barking have rattled her. She is often found trembling and shaking in her kennel. But the fear alone is not the worst part; her immune system is no match for the bacteria and illness that lurks in a county shelter.

We need to get her out. We have even been inundated with emergency after emergency. We haven't even had the time to share all the horrific cases that have walked through our doors, but trust us; it's been bad.

We need your help tonight to raise critical funds to get PopRock out. We can't leave her in this condition. She’s terrified - overwhelmed, and tomorrow morning, we intend on getting her out.

Can you help us raise the funds to cover her care? In addition, we desperately need fosters. We are doing our best to stay the course, but we are feeling defeated. If you can foster, please apply; If you can’t foster, please share the post.

💔When it rains, it pours!! That is an understatement tonight. We were just called to help a puppy in critical condition, her two littermates, and her mother.

The surrender notes say the owner was arrested “sometime in December,” and no one was checking on his dogs. When the owner was released, he said he came home, and three puppies were already deceased.

We know this is devastating to read. It is horrible, and it makes us furious that something like this could happen. As upset as we are and despite how badly we want more answers - we have to focus on what is happening right now.

Tw***ie, the puppy who is in critical condition (video in comments) has low body temperature, low red blood cell count, low glucose levels, and is overall not responsive. She is starved, weak, and dying. We have rushed her to Blue Pearl, and the doctors are doing everything in their power to save her life. She was placed on a dextrose drip, heat support, fluids, and antibiotics while further diagnostics are being done. Her prognosis is guarded.

Her two littermates are underweight but alert and responsive. Mom is also stable at this time but very confused and scared. All are safe with us.

This is a huge undertaking, and we need your support tonight to cover the cost of care and to send healing prayers to this poor baby.

😔 We hope that help did not come too late.

We have a disturbing plea for help coming out of Bronx, NY. A good Samaritan heard a dog crying for help. After searching all of the hallways of the building, she made her way to the roof.

On the top of the roof, she found a starving and freezing dog. Not knowing what to do or where to find help, she ran downstairs and gathered food for him. When she returned, he furiously ate the food, and he came down with her.

We are horrified that anyone could do something so sadistic. Abandoning an animal is cruel enough, but especially cruel when the animal is in a place that makes it impossible for him to find help or fend for himself.

Our President and founder is en route right now to the Bronx to get this dog to safety.

Rescue feels impossible right now: animals are being abandoned on the streets, in shelters, in deplorable conditions, suffering unimaginable fates. But not today - today we will save his life.

We will update you as soon as Jennifer gets him.
We need your support to cover his medical expenses and boarding at our vet.

Hey guys, Hazel here! I heard we were talkin ‘bout special needs seniors, so I’m tossin’ my paws in the ring! I’m 9 years young and love strutting my stuff on the streets of NYC with my fancy booties. Why the booties? Well, my legs are a little wobbly, and these paw-tective booties keep my toes safe. I love people; belly rubs are the best; other dogs are... fine, but not the wild, hyper ones. I like the easy going ones who respect my space and just let me vibe. A little tranquility goes a long way, ya know?

Sure, I may be a senior pitizen, but goodness gracious, I’ve got so much love to share. If you’re lookin’ for a companion to shower you with affection, stare dreamily at you and snuggle up close, then guess what? We might just be the pawfect match. Apply to adopt me, Hazel, at nycscr.org/adopt

Meet Cream Cheese🐶 (and his emotional support stuffy🥹🧸). This beautiful boy was brought in with a gunshot wound to his hind leg and remnants of the bullet lodged near his pelvis. We sent him to Lake Hartwell Vet Clinic for care, and after several weeks of observation, Dr. Terry determined a leg amputation was the best route for Cream Cheese. Last week, he underwent surgery to become a Tripod (dog with three legs) and is adjusting wonderfully! Cream Cheese is 1 year old, 50 pounds, friendly with other dogs, and we are awaiting a cat test. His vet team says he’s a sweet, social, friendly boy who likes to pick out a stuffy to carry around on his walks. No, folks, I don’t think it gets much cuter than that.♥️

Cream Cheese is available for adoption to residents within 6 hours of New York City. Don’t miss your chance to adopt this baby - apply today at nycscr.org/adopt

*Photo was taken pre-surgery. Cream Cheese no longer has a hind right leg

MIAMI, FL: *Please Share!* Penny was dropped off at a grooming salon and never picked up by her former owner. We have no idea if this was intentional or if her former owner endured something tragic, but in any case Penny found herself without anything familiar and in need of a new home. Penny is the perfect adventure pal. She loves to ride in the car, swim, and will follow her favorite person to the ends of the earth. Let's help Penny get back on her paws again and find her forever life— PLEASE SHARE!

Circle of Love Animal Rescue writes, "Penny was abandoned at a grooming salon. The owner dropped her off and never came back. The grooming salon could not identify or locate the person. She was very scared of everyone and everything. Since then, she has come out of her shell a lot!

Penny is a 8-10 year old female Boxer mix. She is mellow and well-behaved with all people, and knows basic commands! Penny is an excellent swimmer and car rider, and would love to accompany you anywhere. She is also house trained and quiet in her foster home. She walks well on a leash and can live in an apartment. Penny is also good with children.

Penny is dog-selective. She is reactive to high-strung and dominant dogs. We are working on leash manners around this type of dog. She used to interact with a male dog and got along fine with him. In fact, she became playful. We had her evaluated by a behaviorist who told us that we can fix her reactivity to certain types of dogs. We can provide the contact information for the behaviorist upon request.

Penny is spayed, microchipped and up to date on vaccines and heartworm prevention. She weighs 65lbs.

Adoption fees are waived for our senior dogs and we can transport anywhere in Florida & Georgia!"

To adopt Penny, please email [email protected] with questions or to apply!

💔We received an urgent plea for help from our team in Mississippi. A young girl was driving down a desolate road when she spotted a puppy lying in the snow with a gruesome injury to her back leg.

The sight of the wound is horrific. We can only assume that she was hit by a car and left for dead. A large portion of her back leg is degloved. The dermis has a burnt appearance, indicating a raging infection.

We have no idea how long she has been out there suffering. The pain from this injury is unimaginable.

The young girl did not have the means to save her and called us for help.

We rushed Izzybella to an emergency hospital, where she is listed in serious condition due to sepsis. Sepsis is the body's extreme reaction to an infection and is always deadly without treatment.

The doctors don’t know if the wound is repairable or if they’ll need to amputate. The first step is to get this infection under control before it claims her life.
