We received a heartfelt plea for help for this distinguished gentleman named Cinco. Sadly Cinco’s mom passed away in July, and he has been staying at a vets office. Family and friends have been trying to find him a new home, to no avail. When we heard his story, we knew we had to help. Cinco was very loved and well-cared for by his mom. He lived with several other smaller dogs, and was very good with them. He is 11 years old, and is in good health. Cinco is missing his mom, and his home. We would love to find him a loving family for his final chapter.

Meet Fleur, a precious senior mama who needs our help.♥️🙌 Fleur is currently at our Center in Queens and we just adore her. But seeing her doughy little face looking up at us from inside a kennel is just too much; this sweet old lady needs somewhere cozy to curl up.

Fleur is 11 years old and great with all people. She loves belly rubs, snuggles, and spending quality time with her humans. 💖 Despite some arthritis, Fleur still loves taking walks but has trouble climbing stairs. She can be reactive to other dogs and would flourish best as an only pet. But this girl is a slow-moving, easy-going, SNUGGLEBUG who loves treats, isn’t too fussy about toys, and requires minimal excercise. 💤

Another adoption event has come and gone, and still no applications for Roofus. ☹️ We're bummed for this sweet senior boy. He had a full spa day to make sure he smelled amazing, rocked his best Fall bandana, and melted into every pet and head rub he got.

What more could a guy do? Roofus is just a big ol' lump of goodness. At 8 years young, he's laid-back, mellow, and only barks when he's having a particularly exciting dream. He’s happy to nap the day away until you're home from work and will greet you with tippy taps when you get back. He's got the gentlest soul; he's just a wholesome guy who loves meeting new people and pups, rolling in the grass, and knows more commands than you might expect! ☺️

If you're looking for an easygoing, older fella, Roofus is your guy. Once left behind on a locked rooftop in the Bronx, Roofus is crossing all his paws that his is just around the corner. 🐾

💔We just received a critical plea for help. A young dog was found on the side of a highway in serious condition.

His body is emaciated and covered in fleas. His skin is red, raw, and infected. He has no muscle tone, his head is sunken in, and the worst part is his jaw is locked. There are no apparent signs of injury, but he cannot open his mouth.

Animal control rushed him into the shelter, and the staff are doing everything possible to help him. They are syringe-feeding him water and food, but it’s not enough.

The vet is worried he has Masticatory myositis, an immune-mediated, inflammatory condition that affects the muscles of mastication. If the disease goes untreated or has progressed to the point that most of the muscle fibers of the jaw have been replaced by fibrous tissue, this disease is not curable.

Whatever is causing the lockjaw, we have to do whatever we can to save his life. He looks pitiful and breaks our hearts.

We are getting him out of the shelter and critical care right away. Please help us save Oggie’s life.
