Twenty Paws Rescue, a 501c3 non-profit, located in NY rescues dogs and cats from all walks of life. We work with NY, NJ, PA, CT, MA, and RI.

Twenty Paws Rescue has one common objective and passion. Every day they strategize and devise plans to battle an ongoing epidemic plaguing our streets, the abundance of forgotten homeless, abused, and surrendered animals from every kind of background. Twenty Paws, a small rescue, is only able to bring their ambitious dreams to fruition by an exceptional and dedicated team composed of volunteers an

d fosters. Working tirelessly and within their means, Linda, Rachel, and the Twenty Paws’ team combine their boundless devotion to provide all Twenty Paws angels with exceptional foster life and vet care until they find a forever home. Even though the Twenty Paws focuses primarily on the “bully” breeds, they are not a breed specific rescue. Twenty Paws provides refuge and unconditional love to dogs and cats of all breeds, ages, sex, and temperament. Linda and Rachel strive to provide all Twenty Paws animals and families with the ideal match and safest environment possible. Furthermore, they have the strength inside to fight every minute. Until every shelter cage is empty, Twenty Paws will continue to be their voice. Twenty Paws Rescue is a 501c3 non-profit organization. All donations to the rescue are tax-deductible.

Today is Oat’s $6000 surgery. The first pic was when he was met as a 12 year old stray on the street, the next pic is him today.

He’s come a long way. And now WE need help. 🚨The road to his surgery has been a long one (7 months!). He’s had a few ER visits, seen 2 specialists (pulmonologist and cardiologist) all to clear him for today. He’s in constant pain. Years of neglect got him here. 😔 And the surgery he needed required a special team. Because of his age, special anesthesia, etc.

This is literally costing $6000. On top of 2 spays this month, and 2 other dogs seeing specialists. We’re doing our best but it’s hard for us to pull dogs when we have expenses like these. WE NEED YOUR HELP. 🚨Share this post and help us reach out fundraising goal. It’ll help us save more lives.

Certified cute ✔️Certified Sweet ✔️Certified Lap Dog!

Gracie is a sweet 6-year-old, 11-pound dog with a playful personality. She enjoys her space and will avoid other dogs in the home. She’d do best with low key dog siblings. She is however perfectly fine around cats. Gracie is fully house-trained and loves her walks, though she’s more of a low-energy companion, making her well-suited for a calm household. She can be a bit mouthy at times, but never mean. Gracie would thrive best in a quiet, rural setting with a fenced yard where she can relax and enjoy her environment. She’s not a fan of young kids, so a home with older children or adults would be ideal. She’s now spayed and ready for forever. Who is looking for a new bestie?!

So excited to announce Cola is home!! We’ve been keeping this secret a long time, as our sweet Cola was actually adopted in October!!

Her new family saw the article on and the amazing partnership from ; they have a place in their heart (and home) for special needs pets and knew she was meant to be with them! Their application came just as Cola was being fitted for her custom .pets thanks to so we decided it would be best for her to go home after she had her wheels. The timing was perfect and she was HOME just in time for the holidays 🥺

🚨EXTREMELY URGENT 🚨Tyson is out of time. He was on the euth list last week, we had a foster routing for approval but now we haven’t heard from them! We have days, at best, to secure a foster.

He is a 3 yr old, 100 lb Akita boy that’s friendly with dogs & people!! Tyson was found tied to a chain, living in a shed. Despite his rough start to life he’s a wonderful, social dog. He is URGENTLY looking for a foster or adopter. He’s an absolute fav among volunteers.

SOS! We need to raise $6000 ❤️‍🩹 Our little Oat the Goat is FINALLY getting his extensive dental surgery! Next week our little man is going to see the amazing team to get his long awaited dental surgery. The poor guy has been uncomfortable and in pain, but we had to get him cleared by a cardiologist and pulmonologist before surgery. The amazing doctors at VDS specialize in these types of surgery (keeping an eye on his lungs) and will make sure Oat is feeling better in no time!

This surgery is not cheap. Even with a rescue discount it’s costing us $6000! Please help us get Oat the much needed surgery and relief he needs.

Meleys is accepting applications! This sweet girl is doing great in foster and will be adoptable after her spay this month!

This 11 month only petite pittie was doing emaciated and scared. She was in such bad shape she had to be brought in on a stretch. But thanks to some TLC from her amazing foster she’s healthy and happy!

Oat the Goat is still cute as ever in foster! This sweet boy is waiting for a few medical appointments and then will be ready for adoption!

Our 12 yr old, 6 lb baby cant wait to be on his way to forever! ❤️🏡 He hates baths, but loves belly rubs. Will give marathon kissing sessions, has the cutest little tongue blep and walks around like a little macho man.

Perfect petite pittie Meleys is looking for her forever! She’s set to be spayed this month then ready to be adopted!

Meleys is 11 months old, playful, and around 33 lbs. she’s a gorgeous girl that would make a great addition to any home!

Like her House of Dragons namesake— Meleys is a warrior, a fighter. She came to us emaciated and in terrible shape. After a few months in foster she’s stronger than ever!

🎉🏡ADOPTED: LOLA IS IN FOREVER

Our little Lola was fated for her forever. After weeks of looking for a foster someone stepped up. Lola went to her foster home and immediately the resident dog was stressed. It was not the right environment. The foster’s mom had just lost her dog recently, and said she’d take Lola right away to help her daughter. Well… looks like she was meant to have Lola all along!

We received this email from the

ACC is currently on stand by to assist with animals impacted by a five alarm fire in the Bronx (Five-alarm fire tears through Bronx apartment building, injuring seven). As of a few hours ago, there were nearly 200 people impacted and the city anticipates that number to only increase. At this time, we do not know how many animals we may be assisting that were displaced due to the fire and we’re looking to make as much space as possible in any of shelters so that we can take in an unplanned number of animals. Whenever animals come in from a disaster such as a natural disaster or a fire, we do hold them in the shelter, or in foster care, while we work to reunite them with their families. Many of these folks have lost their homes and their belongings, and ACC – if needed - is here to offer a safe haven for their animals. Often, these animals have increased length of stay in the shelter because of the disaster, so it’s important that we expedite placement for other animals in our care.

Additionally, we’re working closely with the NYPD on a pack of dogs that are living on the street – seemingly abandoned. Anyone in NYC can attest to the freezing temperatures right now, and there are estimated to be 10-12 dogs living outdoors. The dogs have not yet come into our care but we anticipate their arrival and we likely won’t have advanced notice before they come in. To best prepare, we’re hoping to transfer out at least ten large dogs.

Every dog you can take right now will help us to make space for these emergencies coming in. Please considering taking one of the pups below (Pajama has the CUTEST smile) or working with the New Hope Team so that we can match you with an animal. We also have cats, rabbits and guinea pigs in need as well!

As always we appreciate everything you do for ACC and the animals of NYC. We’re keeping all the people impacted by the fire in our thoughts and hoping for the best outcome possible for them and their pets during this difficult time.

🎉🏡ADOPTED: RILEY IS IN FOREVER

This sweet puppy has been in her forever all along! Back in June we put out an urgent plea for Riley. She was a sweet puppy that was surrendered. For weeks we posted and posted but nothing. Then a great foster stepped up— from the start they knew they wanted to be with Riley forever. So after her spay we made it official!

🚨URGENT🚨Foster needed! This poor little baby boy was brought into yesterday. He was willingly & purposely left in a crate and abandoned in an apartment where the previous owners moved out leaving him behind. We have no idea how many days/weeks he was therebefore being discovered by a cleaning crew 😔. It was long enough that this poor boy’s ribs are showing. How can people be so cruel to someone so helpless? If you fall on hard times there are resources, people that want to help. Alert someone you’ve left the dog behind. 💔

Sadly by state law, this boy needs to be placed on a stray hold, despite being purposely abandoned. We want to be there to free him the minute 7 days is up.

Oat the Goat has been with us since June and still crossing some medical hurdles! Please consider donating to his care.

Oat is 12 yrs old, 6 lbs of s***k and sass. He’s been a resilient old man undergoing many tests. Our goal is to get him MUCH needed dental surgery.

On his journey to be cleared for surgery he had to see a cardiologist (all clear!) and a pulmonologist. He does have some respiratory issues but is on meds.

Next up is his dental surgery. He will need anesthesia at a hospital that can give him the special care he needs due to his age. He has chronic pain so this dental surgery cannot be avoided.
