🎉 Cannoli is adopted!!

This past weekend, Cannoli found his forever home - just in time to spend a cozy Christmas Eve with his new family! 🎄

A few short months ago, Cannoli was found as a stray and brought to the overcrowded city shelter where he became at risk for euthanasia. First, we were able to pull him from the shelter because of a committed, caring foster in southern CT. Then, Cannoli was able to get ready for his forever family. There are many steps in a rescue dog's story, and the dogs can only take those steps when humans honor their commitments to them. We are so grateful for those fosters and adopters.

Thank you so much to Cannoli's foster and adopters for truly turning this sweet boy's life around.

🚨 URGENT: MINNIE ABANDONED AGAIN 🚨

NOT A FEEL-GOOD POST. THIS IS A REALITY CHECK.

Minnie is at risk of euthanasia because the person who committed to adopting her disappeared days before Christmas.

This has happened repeatedly these last few months. And dogs die because of it.

Every dog is a life. Every dog takes a kennel. When one doesn’t leave as planned, another dog doesn't have a kennel. There is no extra space. No pause button. Irresponsible human behavior costs lives.

Applying to adopt a dog is not casual.
It is not a placeholder. It is not something you do to feel good, to “save” a dog on paper, or to buy yourself time. When people apply with no intention of following through, lie about their circumstances, or disappear without explanation, the consequences are deadly.

We are also seeing stolen or impersonated identities used on adoption applications. Imagine someone pretending to be you, then vanishing - leaving a dog to die. There are 2 human monsters perpetuating this.

Minnie is paying the price.

Just like his name, this handsome guy is out of this world! 🚀✨

Apollo is 5 years old and weighs 57 lbs. Apollo is a snuggle monster who thinks your lap is the comfiest seat in the universe. He’s a friendly, cuddly, chin-rubs-obsessed lovebug with the cutest one-ear-up look💕

In October 2024, Apollo was found as a stray and ended up in an overcrowded NYC shelter, where he quickly won the hearts of everyone he met. Luckily, this space superstar was rescued from euthanasia and is now all polished and shining bright in a board & train facility in Berks County, PA (transportation available for approved adopters!). 🌙 Apollo has waited so long for a home, please don't make him spend another holiday in a kennel! 📣URGENT FUNDRAISER: HELP DIAMOND SHINE!

Diamond is only a baby. At just 9 months old, she was rescued from the at-risk list and already fighting a battle she didn’t choose. Born with a genetic knee condition that caused her patella to slip in and out of place, the pain - especially in her left leg - was getting worse fast.

This weekend, Diamond underwent extensive orthopedic surgery at Guardian Veterinary Specialists. The surgery she needed to live a normal, pain-free life is now behind her, and she’s recovering well in her long-term foster home. 💛

But here’s the hard part:
The surgery cost $4,400, and we haven’t even raised half. The bill is due.

Diamond was the star of our Giving Tuesday fundraiser, and despite the love shared, we fell far short of the goal. We know it’s right before Christmas. We know everyone is stretched. But if everyone who sees this gave even a little, it would add up in a big way.

We can’t keep saving dogs like Diamond without support after the rescue happens. This is the unglamorous part: after the surgery, after the emergency, when the invoice is still very real. Please see the comments for the bill.

Diamond is young. She’s sweet. She deserves to run, play, and grow up without pain. ✨

📣ARDEN is home for the holidays! 🎄

Yesterday was the best day of Arden's life - he left the shelter and literally leapt into the loving arms of his new family!

A few short days ago, Arden was at risk for euthanasia in the over crowded city shelter. In a matter of hours, the terrified, stressed dog from the shelter melted into a snuggly couch potato 🥔 We love seeing him like this 😍 Thank you so much to his adopters for making this rescue possible!

Frequently, when a dog leaves the shelter and finally arrives at their forever home, they immediately take the deepest, longest nap. It's like they know they are finally safe, finally wanted and their body can finally release all the stress. So, here's Flake, taking his well-deserved freedom nap!💤

❤Adopt REGGIE!🐾

Hi! Everyone My name is Reggie and I’d love to be your best friend. I love to play and sometimes I play to ruff because of my size with smaller doggies . So , I love a playmate with my energy to play with . Would do best with older kids as I might unintentionally knock little ones down . I’m great on a leash but sometimes I need to be reminded to focus as to not react to seeing other dogs just because I get excited to see and meet new friends . Car rides oh ya all you have to do is open the door . I have toys to play with but really my favorite is anything plastic that makes noise ; soda / water bottles . Otherwise , throw a ball or frisbee and I’ll chase it until I’m worn out 🤣🤣 I don’t know if I like cats as I haven’t been tested but I think it’d be best not to because I’d chase it trying to play and they wouldn’t like my big body trying to slam them in play . Did someone say treat oh boy do I love’m and toys stuffed with peanut butter . I like some veggies and fruits we can have as well . Well I hope you pick me so I can have fun and one last thing I’d really love a fenced in yard for all the activities I’d love to do with your help.

🏥❤️‍🩹 Harley is at the vet! Can you help contribute to her care?

Poor Harley hasn't been feeling well lately. Luckily, her foster caught her symptoms in time and whisked her off to the vet. Even though we are hoping this is just a simple UTI that can be treated with antibiotics, sick visits can sure add up! If you can contribute even just a few dollars to her care and the care of other foster dogs, we would really appreciate it!!

🎉 OLAF JR is Adopted! 🎉

Mere weeks ago, Olaf Jr was a tiny little dog at risk for euthanasia in the big scary shelter. He was so scared that he could not be handled. Luckily, an awesome foster family believed in him and stepped up for this little cloud in time. And little did Olaf Jr know, but his future dad was watching his story, too! And it didn't take long for him to swoop him away to his happily ever after!! Thank you so much to his new dad for giving sweet Olaf Jr a loving forever home. ❤
