Dog’s are rewarded for good behavior and corrected when exhibiting unwanted behaviors in our training techniques
Extreme heat is expected this week. Be sure to stay hydrated and make sure your dog is hydrated as well. Take your dog for walks early in the morning and at dusk. The pavement can get very hot and burn your dogs paws. Take water with you 😉.

I can go on and on with compliments for the temperament and personality of this beauty. She was a true ambassador for her breed. She was regal, affectionate and loyal. A wonderful big sister to her brother Gio and Guardian of the children. My heart goes out to Carlos & Gina Rios and their family on their loss. The children can't stop asking about her. In loving memory of Stella. Sadly I recently learned that this beauty passed away April 8th from Cancer. Stella was so loving and loyal and super smart. She was a wonderful big sister to Luna who is very sad without her sister around. My heart is broken as many of my "God children" are passing away. My heart goes out to Holly & George who are devastated over the passing of their fur baby. There are no words that can express the grief that feels never ending. I'm so grateful that I was chosen to care for her and train her. I'm grateful she shared her unconditional love with me. I have so many wonderful memories with Stella. She too will forever be in my heart. 🙏❤️😭

In loving memory of Jax. I'm late in posting this and i hope that John forgives me. This handsome, fun loving, happy go lucky boy with an awesome temperament passed away mid March. Jax was going to be 12yrs old. This was sudden and unexpected and I know that the Franza family is still grieving his loss and so am I. Jax too was an ambassador for the bully breed. One of the best I had the pleasure of training and taking care of him whenever they would go away. He was such a pleasure. I'm so grateful that I got to be a part of his life. He definitely left his paw prints in my heart. He will NEVER be forgotten. 🙏❤️😭

Solar Eclipse Pet Safety! 😎🐶🐾
The Earth unexpectedly showed us what it can do in the form of earthquakes this week. On Monday, April 8, 2024 it’s time for Space to show off in the form of a Solar Eclipse! A total solar eclipse occurs when the moon passes directly and entirely in front of the sun, and it is rare because the orbit of the moon is not a perfect circle around Earth, and it does not orbit Earth in the same plane as Earth orbits the sun.
If you’re wondering how to keep your pets safe has you covered. While pets don’t normally look up at the sun the sudden changes in light can confuse them. Best practice is to keep pets indoors and cover windows during the time of the eclipse in your area. Just be cautious and keep them safe. The swift changes in light can impact an animal in the same way as fireworks and/or thunderstorms.

👀 PAWrents will need special certified glasses to view. Do not look up at the sun without these glasses bc you can cause damage to your eyes. Many local libraries are giving these away! 👓

Owners, once you truly get that nothing changes with your dog until you change, you’ll be prepared for reality. Whether that be transforming yourself and your dog, or settling for the status quo with both of you—at least you will know precisely where you stand and also precisely what to expect.
Trainers, once you truly get that nothing you can do with a dog will actually change the dog unless its owners change, you’ll also be prepared for reality. Whether that be letting go of unrealistic expectations (and the frustration/resentment that goes with) for the undetermined, or falsely feeling like Superman/Superwoman because of what you’re capable of achieving with the dog—at least you’ll know precisely where you stand and what to expect.
If both owners and trainers agree to work within the framework of reality and the obviously observable dynamics between owner and dog—or environment and dog—then both parties can approach this dog training enterprise with clarity and healthy expectations. Which would save much disappointment, resentment, and heartache on both sides.
The upshot? Owners, unless you’re truly prepared to change whatever is required to change your dog, it’s best that you save your time, money, and hopes. Trainers, unless your owners are truly prepared to change whatever is required to change their dog (this is your job to suss out), then please save them their time, money, and hopes—and on the way you’ll save your well-being and avoid much of the emotional burnout that derails so many.

Today my best friend had to say goodbye to her beautiful baby girl Bella. Bella was the sweetest. She loved people and was so playful, loving and loyal. My heart hurts for them for I know just how hard it is to have to let go. Bella was a month shy of turning 13yrs old. Bella left her paw prints in all of our hearts and she will truly be missed. To Antoinette Rodriguez & Dom, I'm so sorry for your loss.

Foods you shouldn't feed to your dogs on Thanksgiving.
A reality ✔️ indeed! As the holidays near PLEASE remember NOT to get that puppy or dog just because it's cute. Do your homework. Research the breed and most importantly be sure that you have the time for this dog. If you get yourself a dog and realize that it's not the right fit for you, be honest and do what's right. Due to unfortunate messaging over the years, coupled with a lack of knowledge, and compounded by the human tendency for denial/delusion, what should be obvious and commonly accepted is anything but.
A few of the messages:
-There are no bad dogs, only bad owners. Wrong.
-Any dog can be “fixed” if you’ll get your energy right. Wrong.
-Every dog should be saved. Wrong.
The knowledge gap:
-We have a chaotic house, with lots of kids running all over, and we adopted a highly nervous but “sweet” herding breed. Bad.
-My dog challenges everyone in our family, and has bitten us all, but is great with my trainer. Bad.
-We got a guarding/working breed so it can protect the family, even though we’ve never had a dog before. Bad.
A bit of denial:
-He only bites us when we kiss/dance/move too fast/leave the house/vacuum because he had a traumatic early life. Delusion.
-She’s guards her spot on the couch, her toys, and her food, and will bite us if we get too close, but it’s only because she never had things of her own before. Delusion.
-He always growls at or bites my husband, but I’m sure he was abused by a man before I adopted him. Delusion.
Can people improve? Absolutely. Can dogs improve? Almost always. Does that mean that all fits can be made healthy and happy, or are wise? Nope. People and dogs come in many flavors, and many of these flavors work wonderfully well together, some work with certain other flavors, and some (human and dog) don’t work well at all. It’s a sad reality, but a reality nonetheless. We should be choosing the dogs we share our lives with based on an honest and informed assessment of who we are, what our lives look like, and what dog—both breed and individual personality—fits that reality best.
Ignore the silly messages, do your homework, and lose the denial.

It's been a while, hope everyone is doing good. Daenerys and I have been busy training as we are currently working on making her my service dog. We've been working on her socializing skills and her ability to pick up objects from the ground that I specifically request from her and she must hand them to me. She is still a work in progress but doing much better. As we go along with training I will continue to add more objects for her to give to me. Here's my baby girl at work. 🥰🐾❤
