Extreme heat is expected this week. Be sure to stay hydrated and make sure your dog is hydrated as well. Take your dog for walks early in the morning and at dusk. The pavement can get very hot and burn your dogs paws. Take water with you 😉.

So much heartache to bear 💔: In loving memory of Mia - Incredibly loving, brave, confident, powerful yet never unduly aggressive, protective but friendly. I can go on and on with compliments for the temperament and personality of this beauty. She was a true ambassador for her breed. She was regal, affectionate and loyal. A wonderful big sister to her brother Gio and Guardian of the children. My heart goes out to Carlos & Gina Rios and their family on their loss. The children can't stop asking about her. Thank you for always trusting me with both of your pups. I couldn't let the day go by without praising this beautiful girl who left her paw prints on so many hearts. 💔😭🐾

In loving memory of Stella. Sadly I recently learned that this beauty passed away April 8th from Cancer. Stella was so loving and loyal and super smart. She was a wonderful big sister to Luna who is very sad without her sister around. My heart is broken as many of my "God children" are passing away. My heart goes out to Holly & George who are devastated over the passing of their fur baby. There are no words that can express the grief that feels never ending. I'm so grateful that I was chosen to care for her and train her. I'm grateful she shared her unconditional love with me. I have so many wonderful memories with Stella. She too will forever be in my heart. 🙏❤️😭

In loving memory of Jax. I'm late in posting this and i hope that John forgives me. This handsome, fun loving, happy go lucky boy with an awesome temperament passed away mid March. Jax was going to be 12yrs old. This was sudden and unexpected and I know that the Franza family is still grieving his loss and so am I. Jax too was an ambassador for the bully breed. One of the best I had the pleasure of training and taking care of him whenever they would go away. He was such a pleasure. I'm so grateful that I got to be a part of his life. He definitely left his paw prints in my heart. He will NEVER be forgotten. 🙏❤️😭

Solar Eclipse Pet Safety! 😎🐶🐾

The Earth unexpectedly showed us what it can do in the form of earthquakes this week. On Monday, April 8, 2024 it’s time for Space to show off in the form of a Solar Eclipse! A total solar eclipse occurs when the moon passes directly and entirely in front of the sun, and it is rare because the orbit of the moon is not a perfect circle around Earth, and it does not orbit Earth in the same plane as Earth orbits the sun.

If you’re wondering how to keep your pets safe has you covered. While pets don’t normally look up at the sun the sudden changes in light can confuse them. Best practice is to keep pets indoors and cover windows during the time of the eclipse in your area. Just be cautious and keep them safe. The swift changes in light can impact an animal in the same way as fireworks and/or thunderstorms.

👀 PAWrents will need special certified glasses to view. Do not look up at the sun without these glasses bc you can cause damage to your eyes. Many local libraries are giving these away! 👓

This is the ABSOLUTE TRUTH! 🙌

Owners, once you truly get that nothing changes with your dog until you change, you’ll be prepared for reality. Whether that be transforming yourself and your dog, or settling for the status quo with both of you—at least you will know precisely where you stand and also precisely what to expect.

Trainers, once you truly get that nothing you can do with a dog will actually change the dog unless its owners change, you’ll also be prepared for reality. Whether that be letting go of unrealistic expectations (and the frustration/resentment that goes with) for the undetermined, or falsely feeling like Superman/Superwoman because of what you’re capable of achieving with the dog—at least you’ll know precisely where you stand and what to expect.

If both owners and trainers agree to work within the framework of reality and the obviously observable dynamics between owner and dog—or environment and dog—then both parties can approach this dog training enterprise with clarity and healthy expectations. Which would save much disappointment, resentment, and heartache on both sides.

The upshot? Owners, unless you’re truly prepared to change whatever is required to change your dog, it’s best that you save your time, money, and hopes. Trainers, unless your owners are truly prepared to change whatever is required to change their dog (this is your job to suss out), then please save them their time, money, and hopes—and on the way you’ll save your well-being and avoid much of the emotional burnout that derails so many.

In loving memory of Mia who passed away at the age of 11yrs old. Forgive me Jeanette for posting late. This sweet, sweet girl will truly be missed. Thank you Jeanette and SallyAnn for trusting me with your baby girl and giving me the opportunity to work with her and her brothers who i know must miss her terribly. What a good girl she was. A quick learner, so eager to please and so sweet. Loved her temperament. My heart aches for you both. I know just how much you love your babies. I love your babies too 😭. Prayers for comfort & strength for you both. Mia too is having a great time with my girls over the rainbow 🌈 bridge.
