Our Adoption Procedure
Once you've found the cat of your dreams and wish to begin the adoption process, email our Adoption Manager (adopt@anje

lliclecats.com) or click on the links above to fill out an application online. Once your application is approved, we schedule you to attend a seminar in cat care that lasts about 75 minutes. We invite both experienced and novice alike and are presently offering this as an online group seminar via Zoom or Skype. Then you would sign the adoption papers, pay the adoption fee, and make arrangements for the cat to be moved to your home. We always do a home visit which is both reassuring to the cat when it is being introduced and to the foster who has taken care of the cat. Presently we are doing home visits with FaceTime or Zoom to confirm you have secure windows, no toxic plants and a generally safe environment for a cat. Then we coordinate pick up by the adopter or drop off by the foster, depending on what both parties are comfortable doing. The adoption fee is $150 for one cat under 7 years old, $75 for one cat 7 years and older. This fee includes initial shots, microchip, FIV FeLV test, deworming, and spay/neuter. We believe it is much kinder to adopt kittens with another kitten or cat unless there is already a cat or a very cat-friendly dog in their new household, and for this reason, we generally do not adopt out single kittens.

Remember bottle baby Arthur with the injured hiney and adorable gremlin face (top)? Well baby's all grown up and found himself a girl (bottom)! Arthur fell head over heels for spunky calico Apricot. Adopted together, they are enjoying their first holiday in their forever home. Watch our annual video (https://tinyurl.com/ACR2024YE) for more rescue stories. Please donate so we can continue helping cats like Arthur and Apricot get the medical care they need. We are behind on our fundraising goal and any contribution is much appreciated!

Little Buu is safe! Pulled from Manhattan ACC, Buu (216660) was found alone and has an injury to the tip of his tail that may require amputation. He requires bottle feeding at this age but so far he is alert albeit fragile. Buu is an example of medical bills that add up even in the best of scenarios. Please donate to our year-end fundraiser (https://tinyurl.com/ACR2024YE) to help us give bottle babies, seniors and every age in between the medical care they need.

ADOPT ME! We've rescued our share of cats from bodegas. Yet Callie was our first laundromat kitty. She seemed like a simple rescue until we saw her infected, injured ears. Thanks to donors like you, Callie got the medical care she needed and is ready to be adopted. Watch our year-end video (https://tinyurl.com/ACR2024YE) to meet some of the cats like Callie we rescued this year. Help us continue to provide much-needed vet care by making a donation today. Despite days and days of wearing a cone, Callie was always sweet and eager for affection. She seemed so grateful for little things like chin scratches that aren't so little once they're lost. Email [email protected] to give Callie all the love she deserves.

HAPPY HOLIDAYS FROM SQUISHY! I'm enjoying lots of kisses in my forever home. I'm a bit rotund so my human helps me workout. I get my cardio with a wand toy and she always cheers when I do my Squishy Situps. I'm convinced my sideways situp is more effective than the usual pose. My favorite workout though is purring in bed when we cuddle. Purrs use up calories too. I know I got lucky getting adopted. Please consider helping another rescue cat get the care it needs by donating to Anjellicle's year-end fundraiser (https://tinyurl.com/ACR2024YE). Every bit helps!

ADOPT US! Sweet siblings Charity and Angel are energetic, playful kittens who will definitely keep you entertained. They both get along well with gentle dogs. Angel (male orange) is a bit more outgoing and encourages his sister Charity (female tabby) to join in the fun. They are closely bonded and need to be adopted together. Email [email protected] to give Charity and Angel a home for the holidays. We met these cuties along with their mom Mercy and siblings when they were rescued from a locked apartment after the owner was evicted, as featured in our year-end video (https://tinyurl.com/ACR2024YE). Please donate so we can continue helping cats like Angel and Charity get the care they need. We are behind on our fundraising goal and any contribution is much appreciated!

Devastating news: Beanbag passed away from cancer. He was such a character and we will deeply miss him. It seems unfair that an aggressive cancer caught him when he was doing well with his heart disease. We are so sorry you never found your forever home. We hope the other side of the Rainbow Bridge gives you lots of cuddles and catnip toys.

ADOPT ME: Dojo got some mojo! About 5 years old, this sweet orange fella enjoys interacting with people and putting you in a good mood. Dojo is all about human connections and making friends in NYC. A wonderful companion for grown-ups, Dojo will greet your guests and help keep them entertained. He tolerates other calm cats but does not seek out their company. We met darling Dojo after his owner surrendered him to ACC. Email [email protected] to give this orange gem a do-over!

We are devastated to share that Rambo took a turn for the worse. Despite aggressive treatment nothing eased his panleuk symptoms and he was suffering. Thank you to everyone who donated. This has put a burden on us financially as we still need to pay his medical expenses at 3 different vets including emergency care. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Here is the link to donate: https://bit.ly/Urgentvetanjelliclecats We will miss you Rambo 💔

Happy Thanksgiving from Gwen, Merlin, Tabitha and all of us at Anjellicle Cats! Rescued with their mother, these magical kittens are available for adoption in the NYC area. Their antics and sweet cuddles spread good tidings, reminding us of all we are thankful for. Gwen (white), Merlin (black) and Tabitha (tabby) need to be adopted with a sibling or into a home that already has a cat to be its buddy. To meet these 6-month-old cuties and all our cats, email [email protected].

URGENT: Rambo is at the emergency vet fighting for his life. He tested positive for feline panleuk, a potentially fatal disease. We promise to give Rambo the best possible care but costs for this level of medical treatment add up quickly. Please donate here (https://bit.ly/Urgentvetanjelliclecats) to contribute to Rambo's care. Gentle and affectionate, Rambo was found last week seeking shelter in a garage. We believe he had a loving home at some point as he is extremely friendly. Please donate to give Rambo a second chance at happiness.

ADOPT US! Help Mac and Holly celebrate the holidays with their forever family. These amazing bonded siblings love each other and cuddling with people. Almost 4 months old, Mac is the larger and fluffier of the pair. Holly may be smaller yet she can hold her own with Mac as well as her caregiver's resident cats and small geriatric dog. They LOVE to play and afterwards will fall asleep anywhere - laps, shoulders, or in your bed. As long as they are together, they are happy and need to be adopted as a pair. We pulled Mac and Holly from the NYC shelter when they were just a few days old. Email [email protected] to help Mac and Holly grow up in a loving home.

We have many kittens who would love to spend their first Holiday season in a home of their own. For more info on these and other kittens please check out our website: https://www.anjelliclecats.com/meet-our-cats

INKY UPDATE He's been to the emergency vet 3 times in 3 days because his eye kept bleeding. Today (Friday) he got additional stitches to seal the incision better. Kitten Inky is doing his best to keep up his spirits. But he is sad and frustrated and so are we. He should be playing with his sibling not on cage rest wearing a cone. These vet bills are adding up and we really need your help. Please donate here https://bit.ly/Urgentvetanjelliclecats to help with Inky's medical care.

URGENT! Kitten Inky needs your help now with emergency medical care. His routine neuter and eye enucleation has become anything but. The incision isn't healing as expected and he may need a revision eye surgery to repair the wound. This sweet youngster was found outside with his sister, both suffering from a bad URI and eye issues. We couldn't save his eye but we had hoped he was finally past all the vet visits. Please donate here https://bit.ly/Urgentvetanjelliclecats to help with Inky's medical needs.

BEANBAG HAS THE BLUES! His foster placement fell through and he needs new digs asap. This 11yr old loves being around people and is a wonderful work buddy. He doesn't jump on your computer during Zoom calls yet will happily join the discussion if allowed. His ideal person works from home or is home A LOT. He takes his heart meds 2x per day without fuss. He tolerates other calm, gentle cats but his first love will always be people. Please email [email protected] if you can help Beanbag. If you can’t foster, then please share his urgent need with NYC-area friends, family, and co-workers.

HAPPY TALE! We are overjoyed to share that Dolan has found his forever home. After going through several fosters, his last one decided he should stay put. And Dolan wholeheartedly agrees! Every foster who cared for Dolan played a part in getting him to his forever human. Please help us give more cats that joy by joining our foster network. Email [email protected] today!

DOLAN'S STORY: We met this tuxedo fella in April 2021 when he was so bloated and constipated from dehydration and a terrible diet that he looked pregnant. Multiple fosters helped him on the long road to reset his gastrointestinal system. And his foster/adopter has also helped him work through his nipping and fully embrace the housecat life. He sleeps at her feet or curled up next to her, often resting his chin on her. As she works from home, Dolan is known to crash her zoom meetings and has a chair right next to her desk. And yes, he pouts and knocks stuff over if she dares to put anything on it. Dolan offers opinions on her meetings from his chair using a tongue/eye ranking system. When he determines the workday should be done, he squeezes in under her monitor setup and refuses to move. He still gets agitated by noises and meows when he can't immediately find his favorite human. Yet today Dolan is the happy, healthy kitty he was meant to be.

Skittles and Snickers are doing well! They were barely a week old when we drove away with them from Manhattan ACC. Today they are thriving under the care of one of our amazing fosters. Renamed Mac and Holly, they will be ready for adoption in a couple weeks. Many thanks to Jenny and her husband who never gets upset when she says “By the way….” Please email [email protected] and join us to save more babies and seniors and every age in between. If you can’t foster or adopt, please donate via PayPal or Venmo to help us give our cats proper medical care.
