Your cat’s vomit color just revealed something critical about their health... 😰

Different vomit colors and textures can indicate serious medical conditions that need immediate attention.

Nothing is always 100% but for the most part, here’s what each type means:

🟫 Brown with chunks: Food regurgitation - your cat may have eaten too fast

🟡 Clear/yellow with hair: Hairballs - if chronic, may need grooming help

🟢 Green with bits: Plant material - check if they ate something toxic

⚪ White, foamy: Stomach irritation - if chronic, could indicate infection or allergy

🔴 Red/pink: Blood - internal bleeding, requires emergency veterinary care

☕ Brown with coffee texture: Blood from internal bleeding - medical emergency

🍝 Clear with spaghetti-like: Roundworm parasites - needs anti-parasitic medication

💧 Clear water: If chronic, could indicate potential diabetes

🟡 Green/yellow bile: Prolonged empty stomach vomiting

Any blood, persistent vomiting, or parasites require immediate veterinary attention. Don’t wait if you see emergency signs! ⚡

🧠Is your dog getting enough brain exercise?🦮

Research shows that physical activity boosts BDNF—a powerful brain chemical that supports learning, memory, and emotional stability. In dogs, enriched environments that include regular movement and sniffing time (“sniffaries”) increase BDNF levels and help keep their brains sharp, especially as they age.🐾

Sniffing on walks, play sessions, problem-solving games… these aren’t just cute—they’re neuroscience in action.💥

So go ahead: slow down on that walk. Let them sniff for as long as they wish, at least once a day, without hurrying them along. Becuase you’re not just stretching legs and emptying bladders —you’re building brain power.

Life lessons from the best teacher I know — my dog 🐾💙
Love deeply, nap often, speak your truth, protect your pack, move your body, live in the moment, trust your gut, celebrate the little joys, and eat wholesome food. Who else agrees our dogs are the wisest?

Some of you are stuck in a false dichotomy: either let your dog do whatever they want, wherever they want—including licking something clearly diseased or standing in traffic—or you’re a “bad dog parent” for interrupting them.
That’s not how this works.
You can allow your dog to sniff things because it’s biologically meaningful to them—and still redirect when it’s unsafe or inappropriate. There’s nuance.
Dogs sniff f***s, urine, and other “gross” things because those scents are full of social and chemical information. Their brain is wired for it. As an autistic person, I understand what it’s like to experience the world through a sensory lens that most people don’t share. Just because something feels strange to you doesn’t mean it’s not important to them.
You don’t have to love the sniffing. But you do need to understand it.
Let them gather data. It’s what their nose is for.
