We lost our precious Cooper today. He went down hill so fast. They say words cannot express the sense of loss and grieve. “They” are right. He was a Gentle soul. A true and loving friend. The pain is unbearable. I don’t think that I have anymore tears. So I will call it a day and wake probably to more tears tomorrow. I love you Coop.

My neighbor came by just over a month ago and told me he was having a lot of health problems. I told him if he needed anything, I was always just next door. He asked if I could leave my dog, Rosie, out a little longer during the day. Rosie watches for him to leave his house, he’ll visit her and she’ll watch him walk back to his house. She’s always looking for him. I often walk out of my house and he is sitting on my porch with Rosie in his lap. I just love the bond these two share and he is the sweetest guy. Side note: Rosie is a rescue, dachshund/Jack Russell mix, completely deaf and about seven years old

“It turns out that pets also have last wills before they die, but only known to vets who put old and sick animals to sleep.” Twitter user Jesse Dietrich asked a vet what the hardest part of his job was.
The specialist replied without hesitation that the hardest thing for him was seeing how old or sick animals look for their owners before they fall asleep. The fact is 90% of owners don’t want to be in a room with a dying animal. People leave so they don’t see their animals leave. But they don’t realize it’s in these last moments of life that their animal needs them the most.
Vets are asking owners to stay close to animals until the end. “It is inevitable that they die before you. Remember that you were the center of their lives. Maybe they were just a part of you. But they are also your family. Even if it’s hard, don’t give up on them.
Don’t let them die in a room with a stranger in a place they don’t like. It’s very painful for vets to see how pets can’t find

A puppy was brought to the shelter, paralyzed with fear. A sweet lonely pup Lucy who was also waiting for a forever home took to her immediately, they formed a bond and clung together. The shelter decided to only adopt the two of them together as a pair. Happily, one of the volunteers at the shelter fell in love with them both and is taking them home today.
