Awesome news!

🎉 The wait is FINALLY over, Alabamites - Best Pet Rx is now licensed in "The Heart of Dixie" from our Manassas, VA pharmacy!

🧡 For our fun fact, we'd like to feature an animal sacred to students and alumni of Auburn University. Although their official mascot is Aubie the Tiger, the battle cry "War Eagle" has been part of Auburn's spirit for more than 100 years.

🏈 This symbol is embodied in a golden eagle named "Aurea" (or War Eagle VIII) who lives at the Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine Raptor Center. At the beginning of home football games, Auburn fans proudly chant “Warrrrrrrrr Eagle, Hey!” while Aurea circles the field.

🦅 According to the Auburn.edu website, "The role of Auburn University's eagles is to promote wildlife conservation as a part of the education initiatives of the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service and the College of Veterinary Medicine's Southeastern Raptor Center."

🦫 We've got Beaver Fever! Known as "The Beaver State", Oregon recognizes nature's engineer as their state animal and even features it on the back of their flag!

⚖️ As North America's largest rodent, the American Beaver can weigh in excess of 55 pounds. These semi-aquatic mammals are also capable of holding their breath for up to 15 minutes underwater by slowing their heart rate.

📍 We are thrilled to add Oregon to our pharmacy service area and will be back to share our 43rd state license tomorrow!

📢 We are excited to announce that Best Pet Rx has recently become licensed in FOUR new states, which we'll be sharing on social media over the next few days!

❄️ First up is - "The Last Frontier," where the official state dog is the Alaskan Malamute. This friendly and devoted breed is thought to be one of the world's most ancient, living and working alongside the Inuit people as a sled dog for thousands of years.

❓ Can you guess which state will be revealed tomorrow? Hint: if you like to rhyme, this one's for you!

🚣 Next up, this state’s name comes from an Otoe Indian word, "Nebrathka," which means “flat water.” The phrase refers to the Platte River, which runs through the state.

🐢 Nebraska's state reptile, the ornate box turtle, is usually found in grasslands and on land rather than in water. It is one of only two terrestrial species of turtles native to the Great Plains of the United States.

🗣️ Get ready for another state announcement tomorrow (and you can be dam sure we'll have more fun facts)!

🌺 Aloha, Hawaiʻi, welcome to the Best Pet Rx Ohana!

🐟 Home to the humuhumunukunukuapua’a (pronounced HOO-moo-HOO-moo-NOO-koo-NOO-koo-AH-poo-AH-ah), Hawaiʻi joins us as the 40th state in which our pharmacy is licensed.

💡 Fun fact: The name of Hawaiʻi's state fish actually means “triggerfish with a snout like a pig” - where “humuhumu” refers to the fish, “nuku nuku” refers to the nose of the fish, and “apua’a” means pig-like.
