Jacob has been with City Creatures for 2+ years, and has excelled quickly from receptionist, to assistant, to Wellness Champion (and beyond!). He is fantastic with the feline patients and is your guru for your pets’ wellness plans. At home he has 3 kitties; Tootsie 🐱, Poppy 🐱,and Jonesy 🐱. Nova is a great walking (probably jogging) partner.

We replaced her reactivity with better decision making.

Before you ask your dog to handle the world, help them master calm in it.

We often want our dogs to “be good” outside—even around kids, bikes, other dogs, traffic. But if your dog can’t stay calm and connected with you in the yard or driveway, expecting them to do it at the busy park sets you both up for frustration.

Start simple. Practice outside in quiet spaces first. Reward calm. Build connection. Make “outside” a place they associate with focusing on you, not just reacting to everything that moves.

Good training isn’t about forcing obedience in chaos—it’s about preparing your dog to choose calm no matter where you go next.
