Geriatric screening: Laboratory profiles targeted specifically for aging and older pets. Cardiology: A preoperative screen ECG is a fast, easy and cost-effective way to assess the cardiac risk of anesthesia. Recent retrospective analysis of canine and feline preanesthetic screen ECGs indicated that 1 in 12 dogs (8.3%) and 1 in 8 cats (12.0%) had abnormalities that might preclude the use of anesthesia. A routine ECG can also be used to determine the potential or presence of other causes of heart rhythm abnormalities and can give an indication of overall heart health. Additionally, in emergency cases, an ECG can provide critical information used to save an animal's life. Radiology (X-rays): Standard thoracic and abdominal films, dye studies, and OFA certification radiographs. Dermatology: Inhalant and food allergy blood testing and treatment options, skin biopsies, fungal and car cultures, skin scrapings, topical therapy. Nutritional counseling and prescription diets: We carry a full line of prescription foods by Hills and Royal Canin. When needed, we can prescribe behavioral medications for phobias and anxieties. For aggression or other complicated issues we offer referrals to local trainers or veterinary behavior specialists. Medicated baths and dips: Our trained staff can bathe your dog (which includes a brush out and toe nail trim) or provide a medicated shampoo for specific skin problems. Euthanasia Services: The decision to euthanize is very difficult and emotional. We will guide you to the correct decision when the time comes. Group and private cremation services are available. Microchip identification and implantation: Our HomeAgain microchip package includes the actual microchip, implantation, a one time activation fee through HomeAgain, and the first year of enrollment of benefits.

The nice thing about making your own food is customization and being able to make the exact type of food your pet likes. Your pup will appreciate that if they are picky eaters and it can also be more nutritious due to the phytonutrients provided in fresh food. However, if you don’t have the time or don't have an understanding of pet nutrition, it may be hard to maintain making homemade food. For more tips, give us a call at 718-975-6901!
