TRIBECA SPORTS CENTER was founded in 1994 as BODY AND SOUL, where we became known as the place to go for the best boxing and kickboxing instruction, as well as for our effective personal training regimen and combination workouts. We want you to feel at ease and right at home in our relaxed and private sun drenched studio, our unique zen dojo will have your body feeling strong and energized, your mind calm and serene. Part gym, part temple...You'll never know what you'll discover in our display of items that bring us joy, motivation, peace and inspiration...We have been told on several occasions that our studio has an atmosphere like no other, and we take that as a sincere compliment! Escape the crowds and the chaos, we give you the individualized attention you won't find in most other gyms, and the freedom to learn at your own pace. We are both the owners and the trainers so we get to know each and every one of our clients personally. If you've always wanted to learn boxing, kickboxing, or the martial arts but thought it was too dangerous, didn't like the vibe in most fight clubs or have no desire to get hit, you should give us a try. In this non-contact workout, we teach correct boxing and kickboxing techniques, and explain how and why they are used. Your health and safety are always our top priority. You will have the unique opportunity to learn the art of the sport with no risk of getting hit, it's boxing without the bruising, we completely understand that you can't show up to the office with a shiner! You will practice the techniques with your trainer using focus mitts and on the various punching bags, how cool would it be to actually master the speed bag? We also offer non-boxing personal training workouts for those who just prefer a private and relaxed atmosphere for their training. All of our workouts are tailored to your level of fitness and specific needs, whether you're a first time exerciser or a seasoned athlete. Fighters are some of the best conditioned athletes in the world - you will get into the best shape of your life, relieve stress, and feel at home in our unique environment with other great people who like to think outside the box. WHO WE ARE:
CARLOS is a former Golden Gloves finalist, amateur kickboxer and bodybuilder. Boxing since the age of 11 and a personal trainer since 1987, he has taught boxing and kickboxing to everyone from the recreational athlete to professional fighters for almost 30 years, way before boxing and kickboxing had gained the mainstream popularity it has today as an exercise form. He was one of the first trainers to ever develop a traditional, authentic boxing and kickboxing workout that is safe and non-contact to get top models, actors and other celebrities into lean fighting shape without any risk of being hit or interfering with their livelihood. With over 15 years of experience in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, he teaches all aspects of the fighting arts. His experience and method of teaching are unique and unsurpassed in the industry.
GAYLE has been a personal trainer since becoming ACE certified in 1995. She has over 20 years of experience in fitness, bodybuilding, boxing, kickboxing and martial arts, as well as an extensive knowledge of nutrition and tricks to get your body to change when other methods have failed. Specializing in high intensity, challenging yet fun workouts and uncomplicated, easy to follow "non-diets" for the quickest results without drastic lifestyle changes. She has learned through experience that a health and fitness program that works is the one that you can stick with and make a part of your life, so in addition to your fitness goals, every aspect of who you are and what you do is taken into consideration when designing your workout plan.
