In 1986, they worked on a case that loosely inspired the 2009 film The Haunting in Connecticut. To keep the series innovative, the producers might steer clear of the Warrens' more well-known cases.
One potential storyline could be the chilling account of the Smurl haunting, a case investigated by the Warrens in 1986.
