We all started as independent rescuers following our hearts and doing what we love to do. We helped each other throughout the years and now we are our own rescue. The "Vi

ctory 4 the Voiceless" team is especially known for the "Staten Island Abandoned Cats" project that we took on during the winter of 2013. This was the biggest hoarding case we took on in all of our years of answering rescue pleas. About the SIAC project: Winter of 2013 we made a decision to take on a abandonment hoarding case of 140 cats which the original caretaker was unable to continue to tend to. We chose to take responsibility for these animals lives as oppose to Animal Care & Control having to take them in. Within 2 months we were able to relocate the cats from the original household to a safe house location. We were able to get them all fully vetted, placed with fellow rescuers and adopted out with the communities support! We made a promise and saw the mission through for each and every one of them. Our V4V team performs high volume TNR ALL YEAR ROUND. TNR is Trap Neuter, Return: The humane way of controlling the outdoor stray cat population. We encourage spay/neuter for owned Cats/Dogs and are here to help with accessible low cost service options. We have many healthy adoptable animals awaiting their well deserved forever homes. If you cannot adopt, please consider fostering while we continue to find these animals forever homes. Fostering allows a shelter animal the opportunity to adjust to home life and increases their chances at adoption opportunities. All of our cats and dogs up for adoption are spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccines, felines are tested for FIV/FeLv and dogs tested for Heartworm/Lyme/lepto. Belly Rub is one lucky boy! He recently joined a managed feral colony and quickly started showing how comfortable and friendly he was with the caretaker. The Ferals were not accepting him, and unfortunately, he got into a couple of scuffles.

We were able to find a Foster to get him indoors and over to the vet. He had an extensive vet visit, is on a couple of medications to help with infected wounds and is scheduled to be neutered next week. Any donations can really help us right now with him.

Huge shout out to the AOH Ladies division 10!

Every month they select a charity to collect and donate to and we are incredibly grateful to have this opportunity. Pet food, cleaning products and supplies are ALWAYS in need!

Our foster homes go above and beyond to take care of the animals within the rescue. Every bit helps to assist us in all of the upkeep, feeding, rehabilitation and cleaning needed to maintain healthy and clean environments until they find their own permanent homes someday !

Our boy Shams has been feeling under the weather and went to the vet today. He has a double ear infection and Upper respiratory infection 😢.

Shams was such a good boy and sent home on a multiple meds including anti-nausea, Antibiotics, ear flush, ear ointment and will be on daily nebulizer treatments.

Thank you to the staff at Mid Island Veterinary Practice for fitting us in and taking such good care of him. 🐾🤗

Our boy Grey Grand is not doing well! Today would be just DAY 6 of this agonizing journey of an intense 84 DAY FIP treatment. Last night he had a seizure and again this morning. He is physically drained with everything he is going through and we need all the prayers and positive vibes we can get. FIP is a fatal disease if left untreated. If there’s anything we want besides him pulling through this journey it’s to educate our community! Countless animals suffer on the street alone, in silence, forgotten and left to fend for themselves. We can do better than this! More people need to practice TNR for outdoor cats, pet owners need to be responsible and stay on top of spay/neuter, vaccines and wellness visits! Keep your animals protected and healthy to stop the spread of various threatening conditions that exist out there! It’s never too late to become familiar and educated on such an important crisis we have going on in this rescue field every single day! #makeadifference #beproactive #spayandneuter #tnrworks We need all the help we can get with his urgent medical visits.
