County Medium fit is a very generous Medium; most often used on horses who normally go in a MW in other makers.
This Stabilizer is a 2001 model, but only has about 3-4 years actual USE.

I had thought to ask $1999. but upon very close inspection, there is a moderate scuff on the cantle and a few other itty bitty signs of being shuffled about in a store setting, so I think $1299. is a proper Fresh-Ride steal price ;-) NOW ON MIDNIGHT MADNESS DAKE PRICE OF $800/ best offer!
This saddle was on display in a shop in New York and has never been on a horse, though it has very light "shop wear" just from being moved saddle rack to saddle stand, etc, and sat in.
(It does have one cantle "ding" about a 1/2" long, which is why this is $1299. instead of $2499.)
This is a VERY light weight saddle, because it is a "reverse monoflap"- the sweat flap has been removed and a shield of leather left in it's place to protect your horse from the girth; this makes for an ULTRA close-contact ride! The wide fit and natural latex panels, on a tree with very short points, means this will be comfortable for most horses who take a "wide" fit CC.
Gullet is 5" dot-to-dot, also stamped "W" on the stirrup bar.
The top flap has an integrated knee block up high, under gorgeous calfskin leather. Flap is 13.5" long, 12.5" wide, with 6" of that forward of the stirrup leather groove.

A little "before and after"-
This very fine, well made Ideal saddle came in to have the flaps shortened from about 15" to 13", and to have wear leathers installed, as well as new billets, add point billets, and reflock. After I dropped the panels, I found a small repair needed to keep them balanced. It is now on it's way to serve it's rider for another 20 years! First 2 pics are "Before"........

**** YES, it is not a glamorous saddle to look at...I get that....but pretty IS as pretty DOES.... ****
German saddler Ulrich Brehme Osterode built just a few of these for the serious Jumper or Event rider- literally throw out those full seat breeches...you will never need them again.
Sitting in this is like being glued in; this is not flimsy garment suede- this is the backside ("doeskin") or "rough-out" of premium German leather.
This has the cut-back pommel, narrow twist, and close contact feel of the Passier PS Baum tree, with the extra bold knee and thigh blocks of the Stubben Survival. Throw in an extra point-billet on each side for keeping this saddle OFF even the most obnoxiously huge shoulder, and you have one heck of a tool to keep you SAFE and ON COURSE while your horse moves out pain-free and comfortable!

THIS my friends is WHY a custom USA-made Western saddle on a custom tree in Premium gorgeous leather is $4500-$9,999. ALL of the steps here are traditional and serve the purpose of LONGEVITY of your saddle...the more leather and steps that are omitted, the cheaper the saddle becomes....(and the more likely it will break, wear, fail, or need replacing early). Conversely, this also shows that nearly any English style custom saddle, made with 70% less leather, no tooling, no rigging, no fenders, no 40 hours of hand stitching, should only be priced at around $3500, max (in my humble opinion); anyone paying more than that is not paying for increased quality... they're paying for brand prestige)..... 😉

Finally back at the shop after a 6 day vacation 😁. I just finished Jillifying the Kieffer Hintermayer for a client and I have to say, it looks GORGEOUS!
Could be the rose-colored glasses....

The large, wide VERHAN Dressage Saddle is HERE and it is in DEMO condition! FAR better than my client described, and when I looked, it appears it was built in 2014. Shows possibly a year of wear, by an experienced, careful person. Tagged 19", but measures a titch over, wool flocked, wide gullet fit, wide flare, and wide spine! SHORT FLAP of just 15.75". This is in a gorgeous thick but soft and grippy pebbled oiled bullhide, with smooth leather knee and seat, large supportive blocks, point and V-billet girthing, and a semi-open seat for freedom of seat bone and upper thigh adjustment at the highest levels of Dressage. A client that will be trialing a saddle wanted knee rolls/blocks installed before I shipped it to them. I finally remembered to grab my camera!
In this case, I molded the block leather right over the blocks on a Luc Childeric I have in; they are the right size and shape that the client requested. When you dampen certain types of leather overnight, you can mold and shape it and let it dry, so I just cover whatever I am copying with plastic wrap and shape the damp new leather over the form and tack or pin it down (then let dry stiff, fill with rubber latex, and stitch to a leather backing and into the saddle):

I just spent 5 hours rejuvenating a PRISTINE vintage Stubben Siegfried VSS 17"/32cm (wide).
I know you have all seen the vintage Siegfrieds; brittle and scarred, with greasy stained suede knees and slick with 30 years of "patina"....This is NOT that!
THIS Siegfried may be the best-kept one I have ever had in. I dropped the panels as per usual, expecting the usual cracked dry creases and shredded stitches barely hanging on... NOPE! The leather was absolutely fat and supple, the stitches tight, billets original and strong and unstretched. The glove-tanned lining leather still shows the hair follicle! The gorgeous ivory welts in the seat are bright and unbroken.
Basically, one of my "frozen in time" saddles!
It is SO nice, I'm going to reflock it, change the suede knee over to smooth leather, and widen the spine channel

Possibly On It's Way!
I may have found another Kieffer Hintermayer! SO incredibly rare, I honestly didn't think I would ever see one again, and particularly not in superior condition! This happens more than you think...

The Hintermayer is a VERY RARE Cross Country Saddle, front and rear blocks, wool flocked, on the Kieffer-adjustable tree.
17.25" (Kieffer seat size 1)
A MW Kieffer Hintermayer Cross Country saddle was here in 2015 for a Jillification and sale (and then it came back last month to be sold again!) I carefully stripped the saddle, cleaned, conditioned, and re-finished it to buttery softness; the pictures below are of THAT one, but the one I may have found is the exact same size and specs, only MUCH less used!
This is just a superior saddle- that Kieffer wide-open "cow mouth" head with cut-back pommel just fits SO many horses, and in the MW width with front gusseted panels, the horses really appreciate it too!
I will certainly Jillify it, check and replace the flocking and billets if needed, and offer it for sale for $769.00 shipped FREE!

Just Arrived! One of my favorite saddle makes and models; produced in an incredibly limited production window, I rarely get to work on these, squeeee!!!
This is a Kieffer Zugspitze Monoflap Foxhunting/Cross Country Jump saddle. These are a Master class in saddle making and innovation. It includes nearly every cutting-edge technique that was available at the time. Monoflap, fully internally padded flaps (like the Stubben Imperator), integrated jockey flaps, integrated knee rolls wedges, and single-seam seat construction. Just amazing! This will get a full reflock, new billets, new full flap padding, and of course a softening and Jillification 😀
