🎅✨ Big News: We’re Official E.L.V.E.S. this Holiday Season! ✨🐾

That’s right - PetCare of Newberry is joining Santa’s trusted E.L.V.E.S. (Emergency Landing and Veterinary Expert System) team! 🎄🦌 This means we’ll be on call to help any of Santa’s reindeer with quick checkups and emergency care during their big night.

To make sure Dasher, Dancer, and the whole sleigh team are in top shape, we’ll be closed December 24th through December 26th.

🐾 Holiday Hours Reminder:
• Closed: Tuesday, Dec 24th - Thursday, Dec 26th
• Reopen: Friday, Dec 27th

October 13-19, 2024 is National Veterinary Technician Week in Missouri.
🦒🐁🦈🦜🦎🐖🐇🐫🦢🕷🐠

This week, we will be providing some infographics about what vet techs are and what we do. To kick off NVTW, here is a BRIEF list of all of the duties a vet tech can do.

As a reminder, National Veterinary Technician Week should be reserved for celebrating veterinary technicians only, as other support staff have their own holidays and should be highlighted and celebrated individually. Please reconsider lumping everyone together for "staff appreciation week".

National Veterinary Technicians Week was started by the National Association of Veterinary Technicians in America (NAVTA) in 1993 and is celebrated the third week in October.

We will be closed for Labor Day. While we are thankful for a day off to spend with our families, this usually results in some of our clients delaying in seeking care for their pets in need. Please be mindful and ✨demure✨…

If your pet has an emergency, **do not wait** for us to re-open! Please seek urgent/emergent care. We anticipate an influx of appointments needed on Tuesday and we may not be able to see every pet in need (as our schedule is already completely booked). We recommend heading straight to the nearest emergency vet clinic to ensure your pet gets the care they need without delay!

‼️WE SAY THIS EVERY HOLIDAY THAT HAS FIREWORKS‼️ Please don’t risk your pet’s safety! Take precaution NOW & keep your pets secured! Make sure they are wearing collars with tags and/or have a microchip (with updated contact info) in case they do go missing! Please!

We know they are coming.....so prepare for them today! 🎆

Did you know that 1 in 5 dogs go missing after being scared by fireworks? We want to help make sure that doesn't happen to your sweet babies this New Years Eve.

Here are some steps to take to help keep your animals safe at home:

-Make sure all doors, windows, and gates are securely closed.

-Ensure their microchip information is up to date and that they are wearing a collar with your contact information on it.

-Consider putting a sweater on them to help them feel more safe.

-Playing music can help drown out the firework noises.

-If you have to take them out to potty, please put them on a leash in case they get scared and try to run.

If you find a stray pet after this weekends fireworks, please remember to use caution when approaching them. Most pets are within 2 miles of their homes. Ask nearby neighbors if they recognize the animal. Visit your local vet or shelter to have them scanned for a microchip if you are unable to find their home.

Most importantly, stay safe this weekend!
