The Pippero Pup Park, which is operated by the Warrick Parks Foundation, a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, provides a safe, clean, and secure environment where owners may exercise and train their dogs off leash in Newburgh, Indiana. The Warrick Parks Foundation and Friedman Park does, however, reserve the right to close the dog park at our discretion. On occasion, according to terrain needs, parts
of the dog park may be closed to limit damage. Please pay attention to posted changes and capacity levels.
2. Entry into the Pippero Pup Park is at the risk of the dog owners or handlers. Dog owners or handlers are responsible and liable for any damage to property, persons, or other animals caused by their dog(s). If your dog injures another dog, you are required to assist any way needed, and to provide your name and contact
information to the owner of the injured dog. Failure to do so will result in being banned from the dog park.
3. Dog owners or handlers shall not have more than TWO dogs in the park at one time. Additional dogs can be in the park as long as an additional adult handler supervises. All dogs shall be accompanied and supervised by an adult owner or handler with a leash readily
available at all times. Children under the age of 13 are not allowed in the dog park. Children between the ages of 13 and 17 must be accompanied by an adult.
4. Dog owners or handlers are to remove their dog(s) immediately if any sign of aggressive behavior is shown.
5. All dogs must remain on leash until they are inside the first gated area. Choke, pinch, studded and chain collars, as well as gentle leaders, must be removed upon entering the dog park; however, some type of collar must remain on the dog at all times, with the Warrick County rabies and license tags affixed.
6. Please help to keep our dog park clean for all patrons to enjoy. Kindly place all litter into the provided trash receptacles. All owners or handlers must pick up any waste and messes left by their dog(s) to ensure cleanliness and to avoid potential health risks. (Stations are located throughout the park, so please use them.) Failure to do so may result in the loss of park privileges.
7. Dog owners and handlers are responsible for filling any and all holes dug by their pets.
8. All dogs must have a current rabies vaccination. Distemper, parvo, Bordetella (kennel cough) leptospirosis, and canine influenza are not required but are strongly recommended, as is flea and heartworm preventative medication. Rabies vaccinations are required by state law, but the infectious disease vaccinations are critical in protecting your dog from disease. Follow your veterinarian’s recommendation for vaccinations. Failure to do so is at your own risk.
9. All dogs must be licensed through the county/community in which they live. A current rabies tag and license tag must be worn and displayed by all dogs at all times.
10. Do not bring a dog into the dog park if:
a. The dog is ill with a viral infection, a bacterial infection, a parasitic infection (worms, fleas, ticks) or with an open wound(s)
b. The female dog(s) is in heat
c. The dog is under the age of six months as they usually do not have fully developed immune systems and have not completed a full program of vaccinations
11. Dogs are the only type of animals allowed in the dog park and fenced play areas.
12. The small dog area is limited to dogs weighing less than 30 pounds. No large dogs are allowed in the small dog area. If small dog owners are comfortable letting their small dog play in the main area, then they
may do so – at their own risk.
13. Dog food is strictly prohibited in the dog park (includes rawhide chews and bones). Small treats, toys, and frisbees are permitted, but may result in aggressive behavior, so use should be closely monitored.
14. Water dishes are permitted, but are subject to removal if left behind.
15. Alcohol, to***co products and glass containers are strictly prohibited inside the dog park.
16. Dogs, owners and park users creating a disturbance or violating posted rules must immediately leave the dog park if requested by Friedman Park officials, law enforcement personnel, park personnel, or their designated agent. People refusing to do so will be considered trespassing and police will be called to remove the trespasser.
17. Persistent violation of any dog park rules can result in revocation of park privileges.
18. To ensure the safety off all dogs, please make certain to properly close all gates when entering and exiting the dog park and fenced play areas.
