The Warrick Humane Society is a 501c3 Non-Profit that was established in 1983 that is 100% Funded by Donations from our Generous Supporters. WHS does not receive any County or Government Funding. We have our WHS Online Auction happening now that is a great way to help Support our Rescue efforts in the Tri-State Community.
Our current shelter was built nearly 30 years ago at a time when we averaged 200 Adoptions & currently we now have between 800-1,000 Adoptions Annually. Our current shelter can no longer sustain the demands of Rescue in our Community. A New Shelter will allow us to Save More Lives & help Secure the Future of Rescue for the next Generation. We will be able to save an additional 400 Animals each year once the New Shelter is built.
Additionally we offer Low-Cost Vaccine Clinics that serve 50 Families monthly that is open to all members of the Tri-State Community. We offer Critter Camps & Jr. Volunteer Programs along with our Volunteer Led Warrick Tails on Trails. A New Shelter will allow us to expand all of our Programs & Services for our Community.
There are so many ways you can help make this a possibility. We have Monthly Mutts at Myriad Events at Myriad Brewing Company. We have Online Fundraisers, like the Annual Online Auction happening now. Follow the Events on the WHS page to see all of the great ways you can help Support WHS.
Please consider donating to help us Build Hope for the Future of Rescue in the Tri-State Area.

Thank you to all of the members of 100 Guys Who Care - Evansville for having the Warrick Humane Society out for their third quarter event at Myriad Brewing Company. We received a $500 Donation thanks to Field & Main Bank that brings us one step closer to our goal. WHS is funded by Donations from our amazing Supporters & does not receive any government or county funding. We are very thankful for the Donation last night!
We are so appreciative for the opportunity to discuss the New Shelter Project for WHS with everyone that attended last night & the impact it will have for the Tri-State Community.
We currently average between 800-1,000 Adoptions Annually out of our current shelter that was built when the average was 200 a year. The wear & tear on our current facility has reached a critical level that in order for us to continue our rescue efforts, a New Shelter is needed. We will also be able to save an additional 400 Animals annually with this project.
In addition to our Rescue & Adoption efforts, we also offer several Community Programs that we hope to expand like our Monthly Low-Cost Vaccination Clinics. Currently we serve 50 Families each month, & this program is open to anyone in the Tri-State area. A New Shelter will allow us to expand these much needed services in our community.
We also have Children’s Critter Camps, Jr. Volunteer Programs, & Warrick Tails on Trails. These are incredible programs that bring our community together & with a New Shelter we would be able to expand & grow these opportunities.
Thank you to 100 Guys Who Care-Evansville for the opportunity to share our mission & for helping us Build Hope for the Future of Rescue in our Community!

We are so excited for tonight for the 100 Guys Who Care - Evansville event happening at Myriad Brewing Company in Newburgh. Follow the 100 Guys Who Care-Evansville FB page for information about how you can participate.
Here at the Warrick Humane Society we are so grateful to have been chosen as one of three Non-Profits for the third quarter voting. The New Shelter Project for WHS is truly a legacy project for our community to Build Hope for Future Generations of Rescue. Our current facility was built when the adoption rate was 200 a year & we currently average 800-1,000 Adoptions Annually. It is a critical time to build a new shelter for the Warrick Humane Society so they can continue their mission saving the lives of homeless pets across the Tri-State. They actively work with 9 local Animal Control Facilities & will be able to save an additional 400 animals per year with a new shelter.
Additionally, WHS provides a monthly Low-Cost Vaccination Clinic that is open to the entire community, has children’s programs with their Critter Camp & Jr. Volunteers, plus an all-volunteer run dog walking program that is free to participate in with Warrick Tails on Trails.
Thank you to 100 Guys Who Care-Evansville for nominating WHS & sharing our vision to Build Hope for the Future of Rescue for our community.

We are so incredibly grateful to UC Cause for Paws, Inc for their generous $2,500 Donation to our New Shelter Project for the Warrick Humane Society!
UC Cause for Paws is a non-profit that works with Union County Animal Control - Kentucky. In 2023 we pulled 283 Animals from Union County & are currently at 119 in 2024. UC Cause for Paws recognizes that with a larger shelter for WHS we will be able to help save even more animals from their local animal control.
Union County is one of 9 County Animal Controls we currently pull animals from that would otherwise have to be euthanized.
We value these relationships with Rescue Helping Rescue to Build Hope for Future Generations in our Communities.
Thank You UC Cause for Paws for helping to build a brighter future for homeless pets in need!

We are so grateful to the Townsquare Media Family with KISS 106, 99.5 WKDQ, 103 GBF, & My 1053 WJLT for partnering with the Warrick Humane Society for our Donation Drive!
We raised $4,614 towards a room of Kennels for the New Shelter thanks to all of our generous supporters!
We hope this helped to raise awareness about why a New Shelter for WHS is needed. Our current shelter was built over 25 years ago when the Adoption Rate was 200, and currently we have between 800-1,000 Adoptions Annually. We are at a critical point where we need a new shelter to continue our work for future generations of rescue!
Please Consider Donating Today….Every Single Dollar Makes A Difference!
You can donate one time or set up a monthly reoccurring donation in any amount.

We have partnered with KISS 106, 103 GBF, My 1053 WJLTand 99.5 WKDQ For Our One Day Donation Drive to Build Hope For The Future Of Rescue at the Warrick Humane Society! Our Goal is 5,000 Donations of only $10 that will fund one room of Kennels for the New Shelter Project for WHS.
Kennel Space is one of the largest issues we have with our current shelter. It was built over 25 years ago when we averaged about 200 Adoptions yearly. Fast forward to now when we average between 800-1,000 Annual Adoptions & lack of kennel space has become one of the biggest reasons a New Shelter for WHS is needed. Your $10 Donation will make a world of difference for the Future of Rescue at WHS!
Pictured below is most of our 2024 Adoptions through the end of July all adopted out of our current facility that has 26 Big Dog Kennels, 15 Small Dog Kennels, a Kitten Space, & a Cat Room. A New Shelter will allow us to save more lives with your help!

Welcome to Building Hope for WHS, a page dedicated to supporting the New Shelter Project for the Warrick Humane Society.
We wanted to take a moment to update our community about the progress being made towards our Fundraising Goal.
In November of 2023 we thrilled to announce that we were moving forward with the planning stages for a New Shelter for WHS. At that time we anticipated a budget of 1.5 Million. We began the process of hosting fundraising events along with mailing & social media campaigns. We received construction bids in late May of 2024 that came in at approximately 2.5 Million. With some value engineering after the bids we were able to get the cost closer to 2 Million. Currently we are looking to cut square footage from the plans to lower costs even further. However, today we are very happy to announce we are celebrating the $400,000 Fundraising Milestone. Our commitment to our community to Build Hope for the Future of Rescue remains the same.
The Warrick Humane Society is a 501c3 Non-Profit that was established in 1983 & is funded by donations from our generous supporters. We do not receive any county or government funding.
One question we often get is why is there a need for a New Shelter for WHS? Our current shelter was constructed over 30 years ago when the annual adoption rate was about 200. We now average between 800-1,000 Adoptions every single year out of the same building meant for 200. The current shelter no longer meets the demands & needs for animal rescue work in the Tri-State Area. We have New Programs like our Low-Cost Vaccine Clinics, Children’s Critter Camps, Jr. Volunteer Programs, & Warrick Tails on Trails that are all being run out of current shelter as well. These programs are a huge asset to our community & we want to continue to grow them for future generations but are very much limited by space restrictions.
We believe in our community that we can all come together to make the New Shelter for WHS happen. There are several ways you can donate, either as a one time donation or set up a reoccurring monthly donation. Continue to share our posts about the need for a New Shelter & help us advocate. Together we can all help Build Hope for WHS & continue the mission to Save the Lives of Homeless Pets.
