💔 Over 100 days and still waiting... 💔

🐾 Meet Frederick, our 4th longest resident and a true survivor. This sweet 3-year-old Hound mix came to us during Hurricane Helene relief efforts, and while he’s safe here, the shelter isn’t the same as a forever home. 🏡

At 57 lbs, Frederick is the perfect adventure buddy. He loves exploring, responds to his name, and adores spending time with people. He even gets along great with other dogs, and we'd be happy to do a meet-and-greet with your dogs. With his gentle heart and curious spirit, he’s everything you could hope for in a companion. ❤️

⏳ We’re doing everything we can to help Frederick find his home. That’s why his adoption fee is 50% off now through 1/29. Let’s give him the fresh start he deserves. 🌟

Yesterday the Warrick Humane Society was asked to assist Warrick Animal Control Officers in removing animals from an animal hoarding case in Newburgh. While not all of these are animals we normally take in, this was an emergency situation, and our staff stepped up tremendously to accommodate all of these animals. This is a serious situation, and all legal questions should be directed to county officials. Currently we are doing health assessments for all of the animals, getting medical care to those that need assistance, and allowing these animals to decompress after what they have endured. We will share more about their conditions as we are able, but please be patient as our top priority is the animal welfare. All of this has come with an unanticipated expense to our shelter, and if you would like to donate to help us it would be greatly appreciated.
At this time we are able to share what we took in yesterday & provided safety for:
-15 dogs
-3 Sugar Gliders
-2 Red Eared Albino Sliders
-2 Bearded Dragons
-1 Crested Gecko
-2 Birds
-5 Beta Fish
All animals are currently being safely housed and we do not need additional fosters at this time.

🐾Meet Fern🐾

Fern came to us from Evansville Animal Care & Control (Official). She is will be ready to go home soon!

Fern is a 2 year old Australian Cattle Dog mix. She's up to date on vaccines, deworming, and microchipped! She will be spayed soon. We haven't had her long, but so far she seems like such a sweet and smart dog!

🐾💉 Low-Cost Vaccine Clinics at Warrick Humane Society! 💉🐾

Looking for affordable vaccines for your furry friends? Our Low-Cost Vaccine Clinics are here to help! 🐕🐾🐈

Here’s how it works:
✅ Register Online: Secure your spot for just $20. This $20 will go toward your vaccines that day.
❌ Can’t make it? Your $20 will be considered a donation, and you’ll need to reschedule online for another $20.

What to expect:
⏱ Shorter wait times! While past clinics have had long waits, most participants will now wait less than an hour.

⏳ We schedule 10 appointments from 10 AM to 11 AM and 5 appointments from 11 AM to noon.

Heads up: We’ll contact you before your appointment to confirm the vaccines you need, so please keep an eye out for our call!

🐾Meet Leza🐾

Leza came to us from Evansville Animal Care & Control (Official) where she was found as a stray. She's been staying in foster but is now ready to find her furever home!

Leza is a 1 year old Lab mix. She's up to date on vaccines, deworming, spayed, and microchipped! She is a super sweet girl with high energy and a love of people. Her foster says she's got a feeling she has a case of FOMO - she just wants to be a part of everything you do! She has a lot of energy and would love to go on adventures with you. She is super smart and eager to please, so she would be a great training prospect! In foster, she was working hard on her potty training! She hasn't been introduced to other dogs here yet, but we would be happy to do a meet and greet between her and your other dog.

Tex, known as River in his foster home with Singleton's Country Kennel Playcare and SleepRovers, has officially become our longest resident here at Warrick Humane Society. 💔

Luckily, he is gettling lots of love and incredible care in foster, but we all want him to finally find his own forever family! As of today, he has been looking for his home with us for 178 days. He's such a sweet boy and we know his people are out there somewhere!

🐾 Thank You, Rural King, for Supporting WHS! 🐾

We want to extend a huge THANK YOU to Rural King at 2300 E Morgan Ave, Evansville, IN 47711 for hosting an incredible Adopt-a-Thon Donation Drive to support Warrick Humane Society! It has been a resounding success, and we are beyond grateful for all the donations and support from the community.

Today, our team brought four of our longest residents, the Fruit Litter—adorable 5-month-old Pit/Husky mix puppies—and left with hearts full and cars empty! 🍎Apple and 🍑 Peach found loving families of their own, while 🍌 Banana and 🥝 Kiwi embarked on foster-to-adopt trials, which we hope will end in success!

Rural King will continue collecting donations for a couple more days, so there’s still time to contribute to this amazing effort. Every item donated helps us provide care and love to the animals who need us most.

Thank you to Rural King and everyone who has participated in making this event a success. Pictured is the donations gathered so far, and Peach with her new family! Together, we’re changing lives—one tail wag at a time! 🐾❤️

Update: Adopted!!

This is Ren. 💕

Ren is so happy that the last of her 6 siblings have finally found their forever homes! We couldn't bear to remind her that this means she's the last of her litter, and no longer has anyone to keep her company in her kennel. 🥺💔

Please consider adding sweet Ren to your family! We hope that she can get adopted this weekend so she doesn't have to wait by herself for long! Her Mama, Calliope, is also still available for adoption. Come meet them today or tomorrow from 12-4!

🐾💙 $5 Friday: Help Cash Get the Dental Care He Needs! 💙🐾

This week, we’re featuring a special pup named Cash. Cash came to us from Evansville Animal Care & Control (Official). When he arrived at their facility, he was terribly matted, and the mats had even caused a wound on his foot that has required medication. Thankfully, Cash is feeling much better now, and his foot is healing well.

But, there's another challenge we need your help with—Cash's teeth. His dental health has been neglected for too long, and it's now in need of serious attention. If left untreated, it could lead to major health issues down the road.

At Warrick Humane Society, we believe in giving every pet the best chance at a healthy, happy life. That's why we cover dental care for our dogs when they need it before adoption. However, to continue offering this important service, we need your support.

This $5 Friday, we’re asking for your help to ensure Cash gets the dental care he deserves. A $5 donation will help us cover the cost of his dental treatment and keep him healthy as he gets ready to find his forever home. We are a non-profit organization and receive no government funding, so everything we do is only made possible with donations from our incredible community and our fundraising efforts. $5 can make a huge difference in our rescue mission!

We’re proud to offer affordable spay/neuter services for low-income pet owners. Spots are limited due to our vet’s availability, so don’t wait to secure your appointment!

Here’s how it works:
✅ A $50 non-refundable deposit is required to book your appointment.
🐾 Full payment is due at drop-off, and additional charges may apply at pick-up.
💉 Vaccinations can be added during your pet’s appointment—just let us know at drop-off!

Important Information:
🕗 Drop-off: Between 8:00 AM – 8:30 AM at our Home Away Pet Spa building.
📞 Pickup: Same day—we’ll call you when your pet is ready.
❌ No food after midnight the night before surgery.

Meet Pip! Warrick Humane Society has partnered with Best Friends Animal Society in order to help provide disaster relief for areas affected by the recent hurricanes. Pip is from a recent transport!
