A warm welcome to the Board and Trains this month! Luna ( #1) comes to Kaufman K9 to improve her reactivity to… well… pretty much anything. Benji ( #2) comes to us to improve overall obedience and manners. He has too much energy to contain! Athena ( #3) comes to us to improve her distrust of humans. She will bear down and run away when spooked and runs the risk of being hit by a car, or have another bite. I’m excited to get to know them more!

Calling all Sacramento dog trainers! This one is going to give us a run for our money someday. She stepped right in and grabbed Serj’s leash like a pro. It is so important to include as many family members as possible into your dogs new way of life. How he acts when she picks up the leash should be no different than when the adults in the home do.

I love it when both the dog, and his owners show up to put the work in!!

Personal post: Kaufman Canine] helped us with our pup Wade. He’s less than two years old, overflowing with energy! Kaufman Canine] did a 3 week training with him and I can’t tell you how much of a difference it has made. His demeanor is more calm and now when we’re walking or working, he is thinking so much and focused.
That said, shamelessly plugging this local skull business because there are nightmare trainers out there. She boards dogs as well. I wanted to share. Here is is calmly sitting under a restaurant table when a month ago he’s be stealing your dinner. Haha love my pup so much.

There is something to be said about a dog that shows up ready to work. Starting out Wades personality exploded out of him. It was too large for life and was leading to him making poor decisions. But since arriving at Kaufman K9, he shows up every time, and rises to the challenge of changing his perspective on life.

Oh princess Pepper! She’s in our Aggressive Behavior Modification as she has a bite history. Sorry contractor 😢 our goal is to resolve her boundary aggression. Do you have a dog that absolutely loses it when people come into your backyard and you’re worried they’ll bite a friend coming through the back gate, or bite a contractor reaching over your fence? Looking at you Pepper! These are some of the things that manifest when your dogs struggle with people/dogs/cats in their space. Kaufman K9 can bring peace into your life!

There’s no trying to keep your other dogs from disturbing each other on place, or temptation when their housemate lets the whole neighborhood know a package was delivered. 🚨🚨I am fully booked until December!! 🚨🚨Are dreading the holidays because you have a lab who jumps up on all of your guests, or are making plans on how to keep your shepherd away from your brothers dog who they’ve gotten in scuffles with before, or keeping an eye on the food at all times because you have a professional counter surfer who ate your pie that took 5 hours to make last year? Oh Nikko you special boy, I was prepared for you this time Houdini! Having a dog that you struggle to contain when you’re gone is really stressful! The benefit of crate training your dog early and in a structured way, is that you’re cultivating a safe space. Somewhere to recharge instead of making poor destructive choices like chewing up your brand new couch. Nikko here is making great choices 🎉!!
