Kitten Central is sending prayers to Southern California. With that said, we thought it best to do our own preparation for the day that we will all face the wildfires that have engulfed our beautiful state.
We (Penny) have investested over $100K installing a FIREPROOF roof, along with a sprinkler system for not only the roof but for our decks and our tough sheds that will be run by our private well and a 22 watt Generac system to be able to pump the water from the well even without electricity. New house vents with a filtration system stopping embers from entering. We have been working on this since last summer. The old roofs have been torn off and are now having the underlayment installed. The new roof should be wrapped up within 10 days.
This investment would help guarantee a better future for Kitten Central if the worst was to happen up our way. We are fearful that the day of everyone having to self insure is coming.
These wildfires will affect all of us for decades. I will post our improvements as we go, this will be a multi-month effort. God Bless you Southern California. THANK YOU SO MUCH to The Holiday Caring & Sharing program. Kitten Central was the honorary 2024 Animal Charity! We were showered with Christmas Joy by all who attended. The giving season is upon us. Kitten Central is a Non-Profit Veterinary Hospital specializing in caring for abandoned, sick, and lost newborn kittens from birth to 28 days old. This is all we do. We give these babies the complete critical care they need rather than facing the sad truth that most newborns either die or are euthanized because there is nobody able to care for these little guys 24 hours a day. FIREBALL Says, I know the weather outside is frightening, but our 3-day bake sale starts TOMORROW! I will be here all weekend to help you with your Thanksgiving goodies! PLEASE come and meet me!
