Friends of the Shelter Foundation We are a foster-based non-profit dog and cat rescue in central Oklahoma dedicated to helping rural O We're also the official Rottweiler rescue for the state.

Our foster-based rescue (no facility) focuses on saving all breeds of dogs and cats, mixed or purebred, that are in need in Oklahoma rural shelters. All of the animals in our care live in foster homes with families so they can learn basic training and manners. Every pet is spayed/neutered, fully vaccinated, dewormed, microchipped and kept on monthly flea, tick and heartworm preventative. Many of t

he pets we rescue are medical cases, and that can get expensive at times but we never turn a pet away if we know a little TLC and Vet care can save its life. Our mission is to save the ones that would never set foot outside the walls of a shelter: those that are sick, injured or overlooked due to breed discrimination, size or color.

Talulah needs someone to step up for her, or she'll be euthanized on 2/25. When we adopted her out 8 years ago (she's around 10 now) she hated other dogs, but has done fine with her cell mate in the shelter. Maybe age has mellowed her. 🤷‍♀️ She also hated cats, but who knows if that's still an issue.

If you have ever thought about fostering, but weren't sure then come to our FREE foster training tonight at A1 Pet Emporium on Britton & May! Class will begin at 6:30pm with Marco's Pizza provided, but please bring your own beverage. Jessi with ROC Animal Training and Behavior will be there to train everyone on how to settle your foster dog at adoption events, explain proper decompression periods, and much more! Plus we can answer all your questions in person. So come fill up the room with us and help save shelter dogs #onebyoneuntiltherearenone

Marcus is obsessed with watching TV. He loves all kinds of shows, but the fish tank seems to be his favorite. He is 2yrs old house broken. Crate trained, walks well on a leash, knows how to sit, and is ready for adoption. He will need a 6 to 8ft fence. He is a sweet guy who loves cuddles and running and playing with his foster brothers and sisters, who are all different sizes. He is just a great dog!
