Asha's Farm Sanctuary

Asha's Farm Sanctuary Our vision is simply to love and protect the majestic cows in our care and encourage a vegan lifestyle to end suffering. Compassion for Cows is Universal!

Located in the heart of Niagara's orchards and vineyards, Asha's Farm Sanctuary is on 27-acres of cleared and wooded land, with a mission to begin the magic when people meet cows for the first time and see how friendly, emotional and intelligent they are. Asha's Farm Sanctuary lets the cows tell their story - a very simple one of just wanting to be loved. They tell us with a loving kiss, a warm nu

dge, and a still look that captures our hearts and changes our minds forever. Asha's Farm Sanctuary provides refuge to rescued cows including a blind cow and some others with special needs. They all live at our sanctuary in peace and surrounded by love. We provide a safe place where people can meet these cows, establishing long lasting emotional relationships. We believe these human-animal connections will allow people to see these sweet, gentle cows as friends and not food, helping them to make the compassionate decision to go vegan. We help to educate the community on standard practices in the beef and dairy industry that are extremely cruel and the sentient nature of cows through our Meet a Cow, Kiss A Cow Day and COW FEST visitation programs that bring in thousands of people including children every year. We are in the final stages of constructing an Educational Center which includes a commercial kitchen, viewing area for an introductory/educational film on standard practices in animal agriculture, a gift shop, an educational area with books and videos, two bathrooms (one handicap accessible) and two outdoor patios where we will hold various events. Asha's Farm Sanctuary's future vision is to be a safe place for people to enjoy and explore nature by providing hiking trails on our 27 acre preserved forest. We hope you visit us soon!

Adoptable Pets from Asha's Farm Sanctuary

Nick will be the friend that understands everything about you. He'll peacefully sleep with you and take all your cares away. All he asks for in return is to be loved.

Nicholas (Nick)
13 years, Vietnamese Potbelly, Neutered
Nicholas is an elderly potbelly. He once lived in a house, until his parents divorced. He was surrendered to another sanctuary. In 2015, we helped that sanctuary out by taking him in, as they were becoming overloaded (we were just starting out then). Nicholas is good with being by himself, although housed with two other smaller potbellies. He’s been with us for nearly a decade. Nick came to us severely obese and with arthritis. We placed him on a diet, and he lost the weight and gained mobility. He’s doing great! Due to financial difficulties at the sanctuary, we need to find him a home with a vegan individual, couple, family or sanctuary. A donor should be willing to make a donation toward his care.

Adoptable Pets from Asha's Farm Sanctuary. These two will give you love every single day and be your Best Friend Forever.

Philp (Little Philly) (left)
5 years, 6 months, Vietnamese Potbelly, Neutered
This sweet boy is bonded with Chas (right), another potbelly. Philly is extremely sweet and lovable. He’s an extremely good boy and just any parent’s dream child. He also is an incredible friend. He was surrendered to us after the law enforcement found him in a home that was not zoned for pigs. Philly was having all sorts of skin issues, and law enforcement felt it was due to stress. They thought he would do better at a sanctuary. Philip got the medical attention he needed under our care, and he continues to thrive. We need to find him a forever home due to financial constraints at the sanctuary. A donor should be willing to make a donation for his care. We wish Philly goes to a vegan indvidual, couple, family or sanctuary along with his friend Chas.

Charles (Chas) (right)
9 years, 2 months, Vietnamese Potbelly, Neutered
Chas is so tiny, and cute, and he is bonded with Little Philly, another potbelly. Chas does not like change much so he needs to be with his friend, Philly. He will adapt, but it’s best to keep him with his friend for awhile before he is introduced to other pigs. He can scare easily with new pigs. Although sometimes he likes to start trouble and then he runs away when someone stands up for themselves. He’s an absolute sweetheart. Chas was surrendered to us after being locked in a small cage and never let out. We need to find him a home due to financial contraints at the sanctuary. A donor should be willing to make a donation for his care. We wish Chas goes to a vegan indvidual, couple, family or sanctuary along with his friend Philly.

Please complete our Home Adoption Application below if interested. These pigs must be adopted together.

We have been trying to rehome this sweet boy for some time, but the situation has become more critical. Due to my arrest for providing care for two stray cows (a civil matter turned criminal), we have lost much funding. We are currently in debt over $75,000, and I don’t foresee the sanctuary existing anymore unless we further downsize.

Zohar has two wheelcarts — one new. His adoption from our sanctuary will include these. We also have a donor who would will willing to provide a one time stipend for his care.

We wish Zohar to go to a vegan sanctuary that has experience with special needs sheep in carts. We would like him to have lots of room to wheel around and also be safe with other sheep.

Our situation is not good financially, and I may be going to jail after my trial in early October. We need to begin rehoming now.

Please help if you can.

It’s time today for more beautiful videos of the rescued cows at Asha’s Farm Sanctuary. We’ll post these soon. But first, a message from our founder, Tracy Murphy.

“Vegan isn't difficult. It's a joy to eat food knowing no animals were cruelly sent to slaughter. When they desperately wanted to live, to feel safe, to not be scared, to not feel pain, to be with their families once again.

Today, there are many establishments throughout Western New York that offer food that does not harm animals. Because compassion is contagious.

Please Like and Follow Asha's Mindful Eating and go to Featured posts where we will find a list of businesses that offer delicious vegan food.”

Thank you Balanced Bite for helping us to raise critical funds to care for Joseph and Jasper and all the rescued fur and feathered babies at Asha’s! We are humbled and grateful to you for your selfless act of kindness.

Owners Jon, Nick and Alexis held this fundraiser at cost and gave every dime to Asha’s, even refusing a tip and instead giving us 20% on additional sales that day. We recognize their love coming directly to us from the hand of God. Thank you Jesus for your beautiful heart.

Very special thanks to The Planty Baker, 96 Lives Vegan Bakery & Cafe and Laura for their delicious food donations.

Asha's Farm Sanctuary is pleased to feature healthy, plant-based meal preps (that don't harm animals!) by Balanced Bite, a wonderful, all vegan restaurant in Lancaster, NY.

Owners Nick, Alexis and Jon held a fundraiser for our sanctuary last night. They cooked, they served and they cleaned up. The owners did this all for our sanctuary "at cost" only and did not charge a dime more. They refused to accept a tip from us and told us to buy food and take care of the animals with it. The owners even gave us 20% of all sales that day from their "stop and go meals."

They did all of this with a smile, lots of love and a cheerful attitude. They are indeed an example for us all to follow. We are extremely blessed to have these wonderful friends supporting Asha's Farm Sanctuary.

If you have not tried vegan yet, why not begin today? I promise you will not only like these featured meals, you will LOVE them.

Choose among 5 meals or order them all! Ordering ends tomorrow. On the Meal Prep menu for only $9.75 each (order them all for only $48.75!):

-Pesto Gnocchi
-Chick'n Souvlaki
-Buffalo Cauliflower
-Peanut Tofu with Saba Noodles
-BBQ Mac + Cheez (cashew based)

Jasper has been in with Joseph most the day, but when he sees Tracy, he asks her to go back with him. Knowing that Jasper needs to exercise, eat the green grass and continue to bond with the other cows, she encourages him to stay.

We have some of you asking questions about what happened to Mary and why did she pass.

How our heart is broken over the loss of Mary. She suffered from a tumor that progressed to her trachea, severely affecting her quality of life, and with an imminent threat to put her in respiratory distress. There was no cure, no surgery that could be done.

At this time, we need your love and prayers. We have experienced five losses over the past four months and are completely devastated.

Ruthie the pig whose tumor suddenly ruptured in her heart.

Ismael and Little Willow, two stray cows we cared for, who were tragically seized from our sanctuary and immediately sold. We just learned they were sent to slaughter after seizure.

Lindsay the donkey who was rehomed to another wonderful sanctuary last year with her sister. We cared for these girls for eight long years. Tragically Lindsay developed choke and her immune system could not fight the infection, although provided immediate vet care.

And now Mary who we cared for years.

Again we are devastated and heart broken. Please pray that we may have peace and strength during this very difficult time.

There are places in my heart that hurt too much when touched.

Places where memories of old run deep...

Memories that weep when I cannot.

And people do not know.

They know not for they see not.

How beautiful to see Joseph’s unconditional love for his brother. Although Jasper seems busy, Joseph shows us to forgive and to never give up on keeping family together forever.

Our Story

Asha is a storybook sanctuary and home to Albert the Super Cow and his barnyard friends including rescued chickens, donkeys, turkeys, pigs, sheep, a blind cow, a mother cow and steers. They all live at our sanctuary in peace and surrounded by love. We provide a safe place where people can meet these animals, establishing long lasting emotional relationships. We believe these human-animal connections will allow people to see these sweet, gentle animals as friends and not food, helping them to make the compassionate decision to go vegan.

Located in the heart of Niagara's orchards and vineyards on 27-acres of land, Asha is the perfect setting to begin the magic when people meet farmed animals for the first time and see how friendly, emotional and intelligent they are. We let the animals tell their story - a very simple one of just wanting to be loved. They tell us with a loving kiss, a warm nudge, and a still look that captures our hearts and changes our minds forever.

Our sanctuary helps to educate the community on cruel, yet standard, practices in the dairy industry and the sentient nature of cows through our Meet a Cow and Albert the Super Cow programs.

Asha provides support and encouragement by offering vegan cooking classes through Albert Super's Kitchen program.
