The big day is almost here! Join us tomorrow, September 1st, at the Rocking Horse Smoke House in Vernon, CT, for an action-packed day you won't want to miss. Whether you're a biker, a dog lover, or just looking for a fun day out, we've got something for everyone!

🐾 Rescue Dogs: Meet some adorable pups from Dog Star Rescue who are looking for their forever homes! They’ll be with us from 11 AM to 1 PM—come say hello and maybe even find a new furry friend.

🛍️ Vendors: Our vendor fair is open to the public from 12 noon to 5 PM. Explore a variety of great products, grab some tasty treats, and support local businesses.

🎶 Music & Raffles: Enjoy live music throughout the day and take a chance on our exciting raffles—there's something for everyone to win!

🏍️ Bikes: Bikers will be rolling in between 9:30 and 10 AM. Whether you’re riding or just admiring the lineup, it’s sure to be a sight to see.

Rain or shine, we're ready to have an unforgettable day filled with fun, community, and plenty of excitement. Spread the word, bring your friends and family, and let's make this first annual event one for the books!

🐾 This Sunday at The Rocking Horse Smoke House! 🐾

Looking for a new furry friend? Come meet some adorable dogs from Dog Star Rescue who are searching for their forever homes! 🐶 These sweet pups, currently available for adoption, will be at our event from 11 AM to 1:30 PM—and trust us, they can’t wait to meet you! While we can't say exactly which ones will still be available, we do know a dozen sweethearts will be there, wagging their tails and ready for some love.

But that's not all! From 12 noon to 5 PM, enjoy live music and explore a ton of amazing vendors we have lined up for you. It’s the perfect chance to support a great cause, shop around, and have a fun day out! 🎉

We are looking for volunteers to help out at our 1st annual motorcycle poker run. If you’d like to support rescue dogs and our veterans in need here’s a great event you can help out at.
We’ll have 30 plus vendors and 100s or bikers. An amazing trainer answering questions, music, raffles and every volunteer eats on us. Catered by the Rocking Horse Smokehouse in Vernon.

We are trying to lock people in now. It’s September 1st

Update on Carson! We are told he will make a full recovery but he will need surgery. They tried to repair the tears in his leg but too much skin is missing. They tapped his chest so he is breathing better now.
The bills are still mounting and they will not schedule surgery without a significant deposit.
So please donate and share so we can help this sweat boy live his best life serving the Veteran that loves and needs him.

Tomorrow is our yearly event that The Hartford Marathon Foundation puts on for us. We want to thank everyone who has volunteered. It if held at The Rocky Neck State Park come out and say hi. We are usually set up right next to the food station. Cheer on the hundreds of runners that come out for this amazing event.

It’s that time of year again.

Each year The Hartford Marathon Foundations puts on this great event for the benefit of our charity.
This year it will be held Sunday April 21st Race starts at 8am

It is an amazing event held at the Rocky Neck State Park

Anyone wishing to volunteer this year I am including the positions and times needed below as well as a link to our volunteer sign up.
Please follow the instructions below and also reach out to me directly to let me know you have signed up.

We greatly appreciate all the help and support you give our organization and look forward to seeing you there.


Volunteer Activity Needed

Registration 6:30 AM - 8:30 AM Use laptop to issue bibs to runners
Course Monitor - Road 7:15 AM - 12:15 PM Direct and cheer runners
Course Monitor - Trail 7:30 AM - 1:00 PM Direct and cheer runners
Water Station - Road 7:30 AM - 12:15 PM Setup + distribute water to runners
Water Station - Trail 7:45 AM - 1:00 PM Setup + distribute water to runners
Transition / Exchange 7:45 AM - 12:15 PM Check in runners at Exchange Zone


1. Runner Volunteers: Yes, participants in the race can volunteer too. We need pre-race Registration volunteers and we always accommodate early departures for the runner volunteers so they may get to the Start Line.
2. Volunteer perks: Coffee and breakfast upon arrival, Volunteer t shirt, post-race brunch, and all volunteers receive $5 credit towards future races ($10 for Course Monitors). These credits can be transferred to family and friends.

4. Then, select “Apply to Shifts” from the center of the screen.
5. Volunteer opportunities will appear. You may “Select” an activity on the Right hand side of the screen.
6. Then Click on “Apply” in the top Right corner.

Okey dokey, why hasn't this adorable mug been adopted yet???? This is the look the staff gets, at Salem Animal Rescue League when they tell Precious that they're still waiting for someone to pick her. She's been waiting much too long.

This compact little lady breaks out into the biggest wiggle dance when she sees her favorite people. And her favorite people happen to be women, sorry guys, but she's quite uncomfortable with men. So she would LOVE to join a women only household, where she can do her happy dance, sit in your lap and give snuggles and kisses galore.

Since she is dog selective, she would prefer to be the canine princess, no history with cats and this cutie has lived with older kids.
