We also do horse riding lessons and host special events. Booking must be made through the website at www.elkmountainriding.co. Minimum age to ride is 8 years old. All riders must weigh under 225lbs. No tandem riding. We now offer beautiful scenic 2023 community tours for 1.5-2 hours. We also have private tours and longer excursions. We look forward to seeing you on the trail soon!

Y’all know that we are suckers for solar eclipses! 🌖 Unfortunately, this one doesn’t take place during trail riding hours, but we’ve attached a link where you can watch it all unfold…with a blood moon included! Pretty cool stuff. The weather on the mountain is expected to be perfect for some 2am eclipse watching. If only my horse, my dog, and myself could stay awake that long! 🤠 💤

We are okay. The horses are okay. Our county is not okay. Many of our neighbors have lost everything, including their loved ones. We expect power to be out for at least the next 2 weeks here. We will keep you updated as we can. We have now driven an hour just to get service, and gas pumps this far out are limiting us to $20. Please keep our county in your thoughts and prayers.

Our county is in a state of emergency. If you are camping locally, and need to park on higher ground, we have 2 - 30 amp hookups available. We can accommodate 4 or 5 campers. We have 5 stalls available if you need to bring your horses or mules. You are welcome here.

Call (or text) us to schedule your trail riding adventure today! We are best known for our calm & healthy horses, breathtaking mountain vista views, and our friendly & knowledgeable staff who are here for your enjoyment and safety. You can expect to spend approximately 2 hours on your tour, and our rates are very competitive. Our peak season is June-August, so be sure to make your reservations in advance as we fill up quickly. Need some practice or a refresher? Or perhaps you are a new rider? We offer one-on-one lessons with our seasoned instructors, that will have you riding confidently in no time.
