*EDIT* We have found hay for this season, but we will continue to look for a reliable, ongoing supplier who can produce a good horse quality grass hay, at a reasonable (not Tryon rich lady) price, and who can store, and (ideally) deliver to us. We purchase a substantial amount of square and round bales each year, and we pay upfront. Thank you so much for all of the responses. **

Working with young people is what makes our hearts and souls happy. 🥰 We started teaching lessons to kids 13 years ago, and although we enjoy sharing this beautiful area by horseback with folks from all over the world on our scenic tours - our true passion has always been working with young people - especially when we get the privilege of working with kids from various backgrounds and situations who may have never had the opportunity to be around horses. 🤠 If you get the chance, check out a great organization called Thrive Appalachia, and consider making a donation, becoming a volunteer, or teaching a class. What a privilege it truly is to work with these young people. ❤️.

We highly recommend this campground located approximately 3 miles from us - it is a beautiful, peaceful place with the most exceptional hosts! They have you covered with campsites, a well as cabins and efficiencies if you want to go that route. Check them out!🤠

This gem of a campground is just down the road a bit from us, and we couldn’t be happier to have them as our great neighbors! 🤠

Small family owned campgrounds still exist! You have to look to find us, as we get hidden by all the large corporately owned properties with the huge advertising budgets. Do not get us wrong, those properties are wonderful in what they have to offer; however, they lose their personal touch and magical camping atmosphere. From the moment you book, you have a direct connection with us as owners, our manager and our new hosts as we are a team of five! We answer the phone, emails, all other messages and respond to each review. We send individualized emails to each of our guests with directions, maps, area attractions and direct numbers to reach us during stays. We roam the property, introduce ourselves and meet each need. If we are what you are looking for, come visit us at Plumtree Campground and Retreat!
