Jake is looking for a new home!

Jake's family is moving and is absolutely devastated that they cannot bring Jake with them. They love Jake very much and this is a very last resort.

Jake is a male American Bulldog mix approximately 5 years old. He is neutered, current on his vaccines, current on license and microchipped.

Jake is good with other dogs both big and small, he has also done well with cats. He LOVES everyone he meets and we loved seeing him at our clinics! He enjoys walks, but is a very lazy and mellow boy with a low energy level.

Please contact us and we can get you in contact with the owner. They are also working on contacting local rescues to see if they can help.

Good Morning!

We need your help!

There are 3 small dogs (tan Chihuahua, grey/black/tan Terrier, black Pomeranian mix) that have been roaming on S St near the Library Park. We have traps set, but have had no luck in catching them. If anyone can get them into a backyard or other confined area, please call Animal Control so we can capture them. It is not safe for them to be roaming the streets.

Marley went to a foster home for a few days while we were in a crisis and did wonderfully! Marley displayed a calm, mellow and patient temperament. He was playful with other dogs and did well with a grumpy little dog. Marley is a big SNUGGLE BUG! He thinks he's a lap dog and wants to curl up next to his humans to relax.

He is the best of both worlds! He would love to be adventurous and be active, but also loves to be lazy at home.

Marley is neutered, up to date on vaccines, microchipped and ready to go home! He is available for foster, adoption, or rescue.

Marley is a 1 year old male Pit Bull Mix about 66 pounds. He is available for foster, adoption, or rescue.

Don't forget about Blaze!

Blaze's adoption fee has been waived. All of our pitties have a free adoption!

Blaze is our longest resident of 9 months and is searching for foster, foster to adopt, adoption, or rescue ASAP. Our shelter is overflowing and Blaze is in the most need to find his positive outcome.

He is a very sweet and loving boy who is eager to please (especially for treats!). Blaze has done very well with other dogs both male/female. He has a medium energy level and loves to go for walks and do tricks for treats.

He recently went to a foster home and did great! The foster family said he was a great dog, but their dog kept attacking Blaze and it was not a safe place for him. Blaze never displayed any aggression while in the foster home, even when the other dog would attack him. They said that he loved being inside the house and immediately laid down on the couch! He is eager to please and does need help with house training.

Blaze is neutered, up to date on vaccines, and microchipped.

Meet Slinky, the impossible mix!

Slinky is a male Dachsund/Doberman mix approximately 2 years old, weighs 31 pounds and is medium in size.

Slinky was found by a community member who kept him for a couple of weeks trying to locate his owners. Unfortunately, his owners were not located and he was brought to the shelter on 1/29/2025 with no microchip or any identifying info.

While with his finder, Slinky did well with the children in the home. At the shelter, he has shown to be good with other dogs and did well with a cat introduction. He has a low energy level and enjoys pets, getting mini zoomies, and treats!

Slinky is available for foster, adoption, or rescue.

Meet Marmaduke, the sweet and gentle giant!

Marmaduke is a male Great Dane/Shepherd/Lab mix approximately 1 year old.

He came in as a stray dog on 1/1/2025 with no collar, no microchip and was very emaciated. Even though it seems Marmaduke has had a rough start to his life, he does not let this damper his spirits! He is the sweetest and most gentle boy. He has proven to do well with other dogs and has loved everyone that he meets.

Marmaduke is neutered, current on vaccines, microchipped and ready to go! He is available for foster, adoption, or rescue.

We received a wonderful donation from Nylabone for our shelter dogs! They sent us several large, medium and small bones for our shelter dogs to chew on.

These bones help decrease their stress level and give them some mental stimulation as they do not get enough physical stimulation being in a shelter.

Our shelter dogs were so excited to chew on the new bones, especially Thumper!

Do you guys remember Rooster?

We have a fantastic update! Rooster was adopted by a graduate student in Puerto Rico who will use Rooster as a detection dog to use for animal and plant research! Rooster proved to have all the qualities of a working dog and he will have a very important job to do. His first training will be in Alaska! Rooster has a very full, fun and exciting life ahead of him and we are so happy for him.

Thumper is available for adoption!

Thumper is a male Border Collie mix approximately 5.5 months old. Thumper is just a baby! When he first came to the shelter, he was scared of everything. He shivered and cowered in the back of the kennel. After a few days, he realized we are here to help him, not to hurt him and he came out of his shell! He has gained confidence and is now a happy puppy! He is such a sweet, playful, and smart pup! He has done well with other dogs and has loved everyone that he meets.

He is neutered, current on vaccines, microchipped and ready to go home!

This sweet girl was found this morning on Main St. She did not have a collar or microchip.

Contact Newman PD to reclaim.

Dog is now at the Newman Animal Shelter.

This sweet baby found his way into the janitor closet on Sunday night at Von Renner! It was definitely a surprise to the staff!

He is only 10 weeks old and is very thin/emaciated. He had no collar and no microchip.

He will be on a 4 day stray hold for his owners, and then will be available for adoption.

These babies need foster or rescue immediately.

We are temporarily housing them in cat kennels in hopes to prevent a parvo outbreak. We’re going to need those kennels as we are starting our TNR cats this week. We found the puppies dumped in the Nob Hill parking lot in a plastic bin. We are reviewing camera footage in hopes to find the culprit. There are 7 puppies total. They are approximately 6 weeks old and are Border Collie mixes.

Update: Coco found a wonderful new furever home!

Sweet Coco needs a new home!

Coco is a female Dachshund/Beagle/Chi Mix approximately 4 years old. She is a very sweet and submissive girl who loves belly rubs.

An elderly member of our community took in Coco out of the goodness in his heart. One of his family members did not want her anymore, at no fault of Coco's, and threatened to take it to a shelter. The elderly man could not let this happen and took her in hopes to find her a new home.

He is looking to find her a new furever home or to have a rescue take her in for adoption.

Berry is a female Pit Bull mix approximately 1 year old and 55 lbs. She is short and squatty!

Berry is a very sweet girl! She is medium sized and such a happy girl. Her tail never stops wagging and she loves to run and play. She does not go potty in her kennel which indicates she may be house/potty trained. Her favorite things are pets, play, and chewing on a bone.

She has done well with her meet and greets with other dogs and loves to play with them! Berry also loves everyone that she meets.

Berry is spayed, current on vaccines, microchipped and ready to go home. She is available for foster, foster to adopt, adoption, or rescue.
