Missing this guy something fierce. Just shy of 9 together almost all the time. He was my whole world for a long time! Needless to say, I'm feeling a little lost. I'm thankful that Owen keeps me busy all day, but it makes the downtime a little harder when being alone hits. We healed quite a bit in each other, but I don't think I would have ever been ready to live without my dog.

Here's to the unconditional love that pups bring to our lives!

What a lovely Saturday! Sailor had a trip to Animal Kingdom to have his nails trimmed! Flower had a sanitary groom and her nails trimmed, and a new kitty friend had his nails trimmed as well! Of course, I forgot to get pictures of Flower and permission for the other kitty's pictures because we jumped right in and got them situated! Sooner or later I will remember everything at the perfect time! 😆 In the meantime, here is Sailor giving me kisses as well got back in the car and got ready to bring him back home! He's such a lover!

Another new friend alert! Our friends from yesterday were also new to the page but I forgot the tradition! Owen and I got to see Monty, Tana, and Danny today! They were very well behaved and all wanted to cuddle and kiss Owen! Owen did very well in letting me run interference instead of swatting our friends! I'm glad my sweet boy is also an animal lover!

Owen and I had our first visit today with Louis, Melvin and Annabelle! Owen was very sweet, and did wonderfully! Louis fell right in love with Owen, and just wanted to kiss his little face!

It's not the 16th yet, but close enough! We are reopening! Walks and visits anytime if your pup is good with kidos! Owen will be joining me on jobs, and his safety comes first! Grooms and cleaning needs after school and on weekends!

Dozer's surgery went well Monday but this morning I got a call that he wasn't feeling well and that an additional ultrasound showed fluid in his abdomen. Bloodtests confirmed that he was septic and needed another surgery if he were to make it. Unfortunately, the risks outweighed the benefits. I had to make the decision this afternoon to have him euthanized. Owen and I got to see him, and love him one more time. I kissed him, and pat him, and scratched his sweet ears one last time. I told him multiple times that I loved him and how sorry I was that he had to go. I held him before, during, and after the procedure. 8 years and 9 months that he was mine of his 11 year and 10 month life but forever wouldn't have been long enough. Dozer changed me in ways I would never have thought possible. He made me a better person, and a better fur-mom. He wasn't always a "good dog" by the standard of others, but he was the best dog for me. My heart is broken. It breaks a little more every time I see his things knowing he will never use them again.

Still, these are just things. Dozer himself lives on in the hearts and minds of those who love him. We will carry him with us wherever we go. I am who I am because Dozer loved me. Dozer brought us together as a family, too, and he will always be a part of the family he helped to build.

This photo was taken 7 years ago today. I will forever cherish the memories I have with Dozer, and every picture of my beautiful, sweet pup.

One more shoutout to Burlingame Emergency Veterinary Services for their excellent care of my miracle dog. He wouldn't have made it this far with their wonderfully team and their constant vigilance.

This mornings ultrasound showed an obstruction in Dozers small intestine. It seems that a tubular object is stuck, and he won't be able to pass it. Keep those positive thought coming and fingers crossed for a successful surgery! There's no way we can't at least give it a try for our beautiful boy!

Since it's Sunday and he's been doing wonderfully lately... We had to go the the emergency vet today. Poor Doz had been tossing his cookies this morning and afternoon. He is backed up and has mineral mater in his intestines. We're hoping it passes with iv fluids and walks. They also found stones in his blatter and mineral mater kidneys but hopefully that can be sorted out with new food. Keep those fingers crossed for our miracle pup! He's staying the night and I'll have updates tomorrow on how he does tonight and after his ultrasound tomorrow. He's did so good for the vet and the techs, they didn't even keep his muzzle on hand! We are so thankful for Burlington Emergency Veterinary Services for all they do!

It's about time!

Starting around the 16th of November, I am going to try returning to work! My availability will be in the afternoon (after school hours), and on the weekends, when my husband can be home with Owen!

Enjoying this beautiful fall day with the boys! Owen is rocking his overalls, and Dozer is sporting his elbow pads and help-em-up harness! His hind legs are still not what they once were; but his harness is a huge help in getting him up off of the ground, and up and down the stairs!

It’s been a while since my last post (again) and I apologize. I also appreciate everyone who has checked in to see if I’m back up and running! I will definitely be on the horn once I am! I miss all my pup friends and their owners! In the meantime, I have been a human jungle gym, nap mat, pacifier, milk factory, chew toy burp towel, cuddle lovey, lotion applicator . . . The list is all but endless! Have I ever mentioned that fur-babies are easier than human babies?!

In Dozer news, poor guys age is getting to him. He needs help getting up because his back legs aren’t very strong anymore. He has been a champ with the stay at home routine and is loving the dropped baby snacks! Here’s hoping his new joint supplements in combination with his pain management and neurology meds help to boost his back end off the ground!

I apologize for the radio silence. We have been very busy this summer trying to get baby Owen on an actual schedule! So far, it hasn’t worked. He does what he wants, and we’re ok with it! Thankfully, he and Dozer are getting along! Dozer appreciates the extra snacks that get dropped or spilled on the floor; and Owen loves to watch Dozer do anything and everything! It’s a win win!

I also apologize that it’s taking longer than expected to get back to assisting with your pet needs. Owen has very sensitive skin, hates riding without a friendly face in the back seat with him, and no longer takes a bottle. All unforeseen circumstances which make getting back in the settle quite tough. Thank you for all your patience and understanding, and let’s keep looking forward to what the future holds! Keep those fingers crossed and remember that nothing stays the same for long!

Yesterday was Owens 5 month birthday! How is it possible when just the other day we were being him home for the first time! He and Dozer spent some time bonding, and Dozer is enjoying getting the leftovers from Owens first foods! We’re still on leave as this motherhood thing takes far more time and energy than I imagined… thank you all for your patience and understanding!

We hope everyone had a safe Memorial Day remembering all those lost fighting for our freedom. We spent the day at the Emergency Vet with Dozer. This morning he alerted me to a friction wound on his elbow. Antibiotics and a bandage should do the trick until his new elbow protectors come in! Until then, here’s some throwbacks of my handsome pup!

Happy Friday! We’re so glad the weekend is back! Raven had a visit today! Nova had a bath, the hardest bath I’ve ever done! She did a great job but my back sure didn’t like the positioning!
