How it started vs how it's going 🐶 It didn't take long for Freya to warm up with a little social facilitation 💜 love to see it!!

Resiliency. How much exposure is safe for our fearful dogs? Rosie has spent most of her life in a shelter, and although she has a great team taking care of her, shelters have very limited resources. Her inexperience in this world presents itself in a fear of the unknown. Which for a stray, is a crucial survival skill. But, she doesn't need to be afraid anymore. This cricket was very weird and confusing to her. And while her reaction to this tiny bug looks silly and charming, I believe she is feeling a lot of internal conflict. As her temporary guardian, I could almost guarantee she wouldn't be harmed during this interaction. So, I let her work through her feelings. As you can see, the experience was fairly uneventful. When she looks to me at the end, I figured that was enough and we moved on to her safe space outside. My hope is that she builds a little more resilience each time we come across something new, so that she can find peace and security in this unpredictable world. If you have a fearful dog, know that you are not alone. This world is a crazy place. Take your time. Help is available 🌹🐶
