Things we have removed from bellies over the last few weeks! Pups scarf up the weirdest things, but it seems it happens more often during the holidays. All these naughty pooches have made full recoveries.🙂
Also, we have yet to remove any “homework” from troubled doggy tummies. Still on the lookout for that…🤣🤣

HE ATE WHAT?? This is Artoo! He’s a young feisty fellow who swallowed several undergarments! He was brought to the ER because even after vomiting up a few socks and a pair of un**es, he still wasn’t feeling well. He was referred to PADS for emergency surgery this morning. PADS to the rescue! Below are photos of the ‘forbidden banana’ and after rinsing it off we find an intact sock. It’s hard to imagine swallowing a sock whole, much less swallowing 2 others AND some underpants!
Also, someone needs new socks and underwear for Christmas!

This is Rock. Rock swallowed a corn cob 3 years ago during Thanksgiving and had to get emergency surgery which ruined everyone’s holiday. Now Rock has swallowed ANOTHER corncob and has to get ANOTHER emergency surgery to remove it. Rock did not learn his lesson. Don’t be like Rock.
No offense Rock, but we don’t want to see you on our surgery table again!🥴🤭

HE ATE WHAT?!
Tux was a very sick kitty who was vomiting and not wanting to eat or drink. A trip to the Emergency Vet was made and X-rays showed something lodged in his stomach. He was immediately referred to us where we quickly removed the unrecognizable blob. What do you think it is?! Comment below!

PS-Tux is feeling MUCH better today and is eating and drinking again🙂

What the…?!
Luna gave birth to a biscuit! She’s been having urinary problems for a while and her primary vet discovered a LARGE bladder stone that needed to be surgically removed. She was referred to us here at PADS to extricate and banish this unusual biscuit! The surgery was a success and she already feels soooo much better! The stone will be sent to the lab for analysis to get Luna on a proper diet so this hopefully won’t happen again.

Who wants popcorn?? 🍿
Actually these are unusual BLADDER STONES🤯
Bladder stones are usually either very smooth or very prickly, but these are lumpy bumpy. What are they made of?? It’s a mystery, so they are being sent off for analysis.
Pretty sure it’s not popcorn, though😅

It’s sooooooo hot! Remember to ice down your hot pups every chance you get! Seriously though, temperatures are dangerously high so be aware that pets can overheat. Allow them access to shade and plenty of water at all times. Go for walkies on the grass or sidewalks to avoid dark hot pavement that can burn paw pads. Keep your furbabies cool! 😎 🧊 🪭 💦

Sheba has been having a hard time urinating. She’s been straining and leaking for a while. Her humans contacted PADS for help, and we scheduled Sheba to come in.
We hit the mother load! Soooo many bladder stones were removed and now she’s going to have better control of her bladder without all those boulders taking up space. Send Sheba some good thoughts and mojo to help her make a quick recovery!

HE ATE WHAT?!
Zeke was diagnosed with a foreign body in his intestines over the weekend at the emergency clinic. He was given IV fluids and a chance for it to pass through before resorting to surgery, but no luck. His human family contacted us for help to remove the mysterious object inside his belly. PADS to the rescue! This ‘thing’ was about 2 feet long! What do you think he ate?? Lexi is a 10 year old husky mix that was diagnosed with pyometra yesterday. We performed surgery to remove her infected uterus but noticed something different. In the upper left area you can see pus and infection leaking out of her uterus and it went straight into her abdomen. This is why it’s SO important to spay your fur babies! Send prayers and boops to Lexi for a full recovery as she may have a long bumpy road ahead of her❤️‍🩹 🙏🏼
