About 17 days to go. Ryder is doing great. She really blew up this weekend. Her hunting season is over. Time to get ready for those babies.

Took a walk tonight to see if I could find what Dallas got cut on. Just a freak accident running into a dead branch.

Dallas is all patched up and on the mend. I can't speak highly enough of the service we got at Meyer Veterinary Clinic in Cadillac, MI. They were able to get us in quickly and took great care of Dallas overnight. Very helpful and friendly staff. We thank them, but hope that we don't have to see them again for a while. 😉

Poor Sweet Dallas got hurt and her hunt is over for this weekend. Fortunately just skin tear and no other damage. It's an unfortunate risk with bird dogs and we are just glad it isn't more serious. Be careful out there and make sure your first aid kits are stocked.

26 Days until the babies drop and Ryder is still getting it done.

Not many ducks, but we worked for this one. Shot about 8 am on a small lake. Dove and disappeared so I called Harley back. Spotted something white on opposite side of lake when picking up. Drove around, spotted in the binos and got Harley out to put a shoreline stalk on it. Harley cooperated and we were able to finish this duck off and pick him up.

Unfortunately no ducks were harmed during this episode, but Harley was a gentleman and enjoyed the sights and sounds of Northern Michigan for a few hours this morning.

Did some digging today and it looks like Ryder's Triple Crown Title has earned her Daddy 4xGMPR HRCH Lakota's Hurricane Cruz MH enough points to be eligible for the APLA Hall of Fame. Pretty exciting stuff.
