Attention Clients: Rules for re-entering the US from Canada are changing on August 1, 2024. Please visit the website below for more details. Important to note is that all dogs coming back into the country must be microchipped. If you travel to Canada and your dog is not currently microchipped, please call to arrange an appointment to have this done and be sure to read all of the requirements listed on the website.

Starting on August 1, 2024, dogs entering or returning to the United States must meet new, specific requirements depending on where they have been in the 6 months before entering the U.S. and where they received their rabies vaccines (if required).

The ticks are out! There are a lot of choices for flea and tick control out there, and we want you to be informed for what is working and what isn't. We recommend the orals -- Bravecto is our number one choice for its 3 month action! OR a Seresto collar. In high tick areas, you can use both if you like! Please be aware that counterfeit products do exist, even from major retailers. Seresto counterfeits are on the rise. Here are some pictures to help you w**d out the fakes! They can be hard to spot if you aren't looking closely. If you are concerned about your Seresto collar, and you don't have the tin anymore, you call Elanco, the company that makes them and check the serial number on the collar. Elanco's customer service number is 1-877-352-6261. We carry Bravecto and Seresto in our hospital and our online pharmacy (https://newportveterinaryhospital.covetruspharmacy.com/) There are some great rebates on Bravecto when you purchase 6-12 months, and even better rebates of you get your heartworm prevention with general deworming with it (Sentinel)when purchasing at the hospital. UPDATE #2: Minou has been adopted! We’re happy that she’s spending her senior years in a forever home! 😊

UPDATE: She is currently residing with the Kingdom Animal Shelter and is currently available for adoption! If you are interested, please call them at (802) 473-3377. 🙂

Attention!!

Minou is a senior kitty looking for a warm lap to spend her final years. Her owner is very ill and can no longer care for her. She is a lovely kitty. 🙂

She just had senior blood work done and everything looks great.🙂

As far as we can tell, she doesn’t particularly enjoy other kitties as our office pal, Goldie, has been curious snooping around her room. We are unsure about dogs, but she comes from a home where she was alone and we suspect she may prefer that. 🙂
