The City of Newport Animal Control protects the public health and safety of our citizens as well as promoting the general welfare of animals in our community. We accomplish this by responding to calls and concerns from the community involving issues surrounding domestic animals. Common complaints that animal control responds to include calls about nuisance animals, stray animals, abandoned or negl

ected animals, along with general concerns about public and animal safety. The goal of Animal Control is to educate and encourage responsible pet ownership while being a resource to our citizens on animal related issues. As we prepare to ring in the New Year, we wanted to take a moment to thank all of our amazing supporters, volunteers, and adopters who have helped make 2024 a year of hope, love, and second chances for so many animals! 🐾💖

Please note: Our shelter will be closed for New Year's on 12/31/24-01/01/25 so that our staff can enjoy some time off with their loved ones.

As we wrap up another wonderful year, we want to take a moment to express our heartfelt gratitude to all of our supporters, volunteers, and community members who have made this year so special for the animals in our care.

This Christmas season, we're reminded of the joy that comes from giving, and we want to thank everyone who has contributed their time, donations, and love to help us continue our mission. Whether it was adopting a furry friend, volunteering, or spreading awareness, your kindness has truly made a difference.

While we are closed for the holidays, we’re still dreaming of brighter days ahead for every animal we care for. We will be back open Friday to continue finding loving homes and providing the care that every pet deserves.

In the spirit of Thanksgiving, our shelter will be closed on Thursday and Friday. We’re grateful for all of the support we've received this year and wish you and your furry friends a warm and wonderful holiday! 🐾💛
